Chapter 207 Murder to Silence

Chapter 207 Murder to Silence

"God help us, God help us..." Louis was still hiding behind the deck, praying that the ship would move faster, and that they would be safe once they passed the center line!

In that instant, the boat passed over the central buoy of the boundary river.

Louis opened his mouth wide in excitement, but before he could celebrate his escape, the cold bullet pierced through the ship's deck and went straight to the back of his head!

A blood-red hole was lodged between his eyebrows, and the bullet was stuck there, with a winding trail of red blood flowing down his cheek.

Louis didn't even get to his last breath before his body slumped and plunged straight into the rushing water...

The sun rises in the east, illuminating the jungle along the shore.

Four-Eyes knelt on the ground, head bowed and trembling, with two guns pressed against his back.

Wen Ni sat on the rock in front of him, a lollipop in her mouth, and slowly wiping the sniper rifle in her arms!

The soldiers behind him were counting the captured boxes!

"Sir, excluding those that fell into the border river, there are now eighteen insulated boxes here, and they only contain a bunch of semi-frozen chickens, ducks and geese."

"Chickens, ducks, geese?"

Wen Ni raised her eyelids and looked at the frozen duck that the soldier was carrying over.

She thought for a moment, then with a flick of her left hand, drew her pistol and fired a shot into the belly of the frozen duck! Amidst the smoke, a cloud of dust flew up as the duck burst open!

"This...this is?" The soldier stared wide-eyed in astonishment.

"really……"

This was all within Wen Ni's expectations.

"These chickens, ducks, and geese are just carriers for drugs. Their goal is to smuggle this batch of drugs out of the country! The quantity is so large, they deserve to be sentenced to death a hundred times over!"

"..."

Upon hearing this, the bespectacled man, whose head was drooping, shuddered again.

"How are the other two lines doing?" Wen Ni coldly glanced at the bespectacled man and then asked the soldier.

The soldier sighed, "Not long after we started, the other two teams also stopped and searched the vehicles, but they found nothing, just two empty cars!" the soldier replied.

"Empty car...?"

Wen Ni's eyes darkened.

She spat out the lollipop, stood up straight and went straight to Four-Eyes, kicking him to the ground!

Four-Eyes hadn't reacted yet

Wen Ni had already knelt down on one knee, grabbed the four-eyed man by the collar, and her gaze was chilling. "Where are the children? Where are those children who were supposed to be sent out of the country by you?!"

"Wh...what child?"

Four-Eyes shook his head tremblingly, his eyes darting left and right, clearly a sign of guilt!

"I don't know, I don't understand what you're saying!"

"Don't understand? Okay, then I'll explain it in more detail!"

Wen Ni grabbed Si Yan'er's hair tightly with her other hand, forcing him to look directly into her eyes.

"Why did you have Wu Laosan and other informants gather children under the age of five for you? What are you planning to do to them? And why are you sending them to the Burmese? Who exactly is your supplier?!"

Under her forceful and compelling questioning, beads of sweat appeared on Four-Eyes' forehead!

"I...I don't have any informants. I only told Wu Laosan to find a child, 300,000 yuan per child. It's because I contacted a buyer in Myanmar. They don't have any children and want to buy one to raise..."

"lie!"

Wen Ni scoffed and threw a punch back!

That punch knocked out one of Four-Eyes' front teeth!

Blood was streaming from the bespectacled man's mouth, and he was still groaning, "I only smuggled some drugs, I really didn't do anything else illegal or criminal..."

"He's stubborn as a mule! Team one, take him back for questioning!"

Wen Ni didn't have time to waste words with Four-Eyes.

"Yes, sir!" the soldier replied loudly. They bound Four-Eyes' hands and led him toward the military vehicle.

Wen Ni turned her back and took out a walkie-talkie to contact the person in charge of the mission to discuss the next steps.

The sniper's keen senses caused her to pause in her movements when she caught a glimpse of an unusual reflective point out of the corner of her eye!

"The enemy has a sniper! Everyone, take cover immediately! Quick, get Four-Eyes in the car!"

"Hurry! Hurry up!"

Wen Ni herself neither dodged nor flinched. Upon sensing the danger, she immediately turned around to warn everyone to be on guard!

But the bullet was still one step ahead of her.

In the blink of an eye, Four-Eyes was lying in a pool of blood!

Shit!!

Wen Ni gritted her teeth and cursed!

She turned to look for the spot where the bullet had come from, and saw a figure on a hilltop not far away put away his gun and disappear into the jungle!

"Second team, immediately go up the mountain to search!"

"yes!"

The second team leader led his men out.

Wen Ni quickly ran to Si Yan'er's side and checked his breathing and pulse.

"How is he, sir?" The police officer from the municipal bureau who was in charge of following Wen Ni nervously gripped his gun, observing both sides and staying by her side without leaving her side for a moment.

"It's hopeless, a bullet piercing his heart." Wen Ni thought to herself.

"Dead!?" The officer was stunned at first, then gritted his teeth and cursed, "Damn, that's ruthless! Did they kill one of their own to cover it up?"

"The initial assessment is yes."

Wen Ni remained calm, her mind racing as she stared at the bespectacled man's corpse!

"But there's something I find strange..."

Four-Eyes and Louis were supposed to be responsible for transporting the children out of the country today, so why did they suddenly switch to smuggling drugs? Was it just to cover their tracks?

Or did something happen during this time that disrupted their original plans?

Suddenly, the scene of meeting Caesar Perth at the clubhouse yesterday flashed before Wen Ni's eyes!

Caesar Perth must have stumbled upon her and Louis's deliberate [ambiguous] affair.

This was the only unusual thing that happened before the plan even began!

“Caesar Perth, he must be involved in this case!”

"He saw me getting close to Louis, and in order to avoid arousing my suspicion, he switched the child that was originally to be transported by Louis and Four-Eyes with drugs to cover up the truth, thus turning Louis and the others into expendable pawns. He then used me to kill the expendable pawns to eliminate future troubles!"

"Sir, this is a bit tricky, please speak slowly..." The officer looked troubled.

Wen Ni didn't care. She suddenly looked up, her face serious and urgent!

"None of that matters now. What about the men I sent to keep an eye on Williams? Have they sent back any messages? Where is Williams now?"

"that……"

The officer's expression grew even more grim. "Sir, actually, when we were fighting Louis, Williams had already boarded a plane to Burma, and he's probably already there..."

"What!? Why didn't you stop him!?" Wen Ni's eyes widened, finding the answer unbelievable.

“He’s a doctor at a Chinese-Myanmar joint venture hospital,” the officer explained, sweating profusely. “He boarded the plane in the hospital’s name, carrying two medical transport kits! Out of humanitarian considerations, our officers simply couldn’t stop him!”

"Medical transport kit!?"

How could it happen at this crucial juncture?

How could it be such a coincidence...

"Immediately notify your people and tell them to contact the hospital where Williams works!"

"Is...something wrong, sir?" the officer asked cautiously.

“Williams’ medical evacuation request is likely fake!” Wen Ni said, her expression growing colder. “I suspect that what they’re trying to transport overseas isn’t a living child at all…”

"You...you mean?" The officer's heart was in his throat; the answer was obvious.

“It’s their organs.” Wen Ni’s lips were pale…
