Chapter 209 Ordered to Interrogate

Chapter 209 Ordered to Interrogate

"That man looks like the provincial police chief?"

"He just called her... Major Wen!"

"Her surname is Wen, she also has the surname Wen!" Song Ge's heart raced with surprise. "My God, is she really Wen Ni?"

"What exactly happened? How could Wen Ni be a soldier? A major at that!? A major must be very powerful!" Li Yan and Aunt Ying's voices trembled as they spoke.

Qiaoqiao stared blankly, unable to believe it. "No...wasn't Wen Ni a student? A part-time worker here? How did she suddenly become a major in the army?!"

While everyone was still puzzled, a tall, slender figure walked down the stairs!

This brought some quiet to the lobby.

Wen Ni turned her head and looked at the man who had walked up to her.

Caesar Perth!

He wore a purple shirt adorned with sequins, black trousers, and a long trench coat draped over his shoulders, looking refined and immaculate!

On that handsome, mixed-race face, his sapphire blue eyes were filled with bright surprise, and his naturally upturned lips carried a faint hint of bitterness.

"I wonder where my little club has offended any leaders to make such a big fuss. It's going to be hard for me to do business from now on."

"Mr. Perth, please don't misunderstand." Director Zhang greeted him with a smile. "We are investigating a murder case, and your club happens to be the place where the suspect most often gathers. For the sake of the investigation, we need to conduct a thorough search of your place to see if there is anything the suspect has hidden!"

"In addition, Mr. Perth, we also need you to come with us to make some statements!"

After speaking

Director Zhang glanced back and said, "Major Wen, please show the search warrant to Mr. Caesar Perth!"

"Um."

Wen Ni strode forward and coldly handed over the search warrant.

Caesar Perth didn't reach out to take it; he merely glanced down at the paper before looking up and fixing his gaze on Wen Ni's face!

Those eyes seemed to be able to meet her gaze through her sunglasses!

"I never imagined that a mere waiter at our club would be a military mole. It's truly surprising and impressive! He's really amazing!"

Caesar Perth first chuckled in surprise, then shook his head helplessly.

“Since there’s a case that requires my cooperation, I certainly won’t refuse for the sake of my reputation and that of our organization. So, shall I go with you now?”

"certainly."

“Let’s go then!” Caesar Perth agreed readily, appearing quite open and honest!

Director Zhang nodded and went ahead.

Wen Ni walked behind, looking at Caesar Perth's back, which seemed familiar yet very different!

There are some things she can't be sure about either.

But one thing is certain: a person wearing a mask will not remain completely hidden forever...

The military and police withdrew from the guild hall in an orderly fashion.

It wasn't until the sirens faded into the distance that the club staff, who had been standing dumbfounded outside the door, finally snapped out of their daze!

"Wen Ni... she's actually so amazing..."

"She's an undercover agent on a mission?! Who would have thought?" Qiao Qiao was still reeling from the shock. "I actually thought she was trying to take my job... I must have been out of my mind...!"

"..."

The others exchanged glances and nodded silently in agreement.

The sun is setting in the west on the horizon.

The last rays of sunset faded into darkness as twilight descended...

Provincial Bureau Interrogation Room

The room was cramped and oppressive, with a dim, yellowish light overhead.

Caesar Perth sat on the chair with his legs spread apart.

He leaned back, his hands clasped together in fists and resting on his lower abdomen.

Before him,

It was Wen Ni, who was watching him with her arms crossed, and the professional police interrogators!

“Cezz Perth, Russian, jeweler, entrepreneur, investor.” The interrogator, holding the documents in his hand, said, “You’re involved in quite a few industries!”

"I've dabbled in various fields because I really enjoy doing business!"

Caesar Perth pursed his lips, and even shrugged with great pride, as if these titles were his medals!

The interrogator nodded, steer the conversation into his comfort zone, and then unexpectedly asked, "Since you enjoy doing business so much, you must be quite familiar with Louis Slagidin and Williams, right?"

"I do know Louis."

Caesar Perth remained calm, then frowned slightly, a hint of confusion in his eyes. "As for Williams..."

“I know he is a VIP at our club and sometimes comes with Louis. Other than that, we haven’t spoken much and we’re not exactly close.”

"Officer, you're suddenly bringing up Louis... Could it be that the murder case you're investigating is related to him?"

Caesar Perth seemed slow to realize what was happening. He covered his mouth in surprise and astonishment, guessing, "What happened to him? Did he kill someone?"

“He’s dead,” Wen Ni suddenly said.

Upon hearing this, Caesar Perth was visibly stunned, his eyes wide with disbelief. "What? Louis is dead...dead!?"

His reaction was so real that his facial muscles twitched, and the complex emotions that transitioned from shock to sadness were incredibly smooth and entirely reasonable.

"His death really affected you a lot." Wen Ni stared intently at Caesar Perth. "You two were so close, so..."

"You knew nothing about his smuggling activities?"

“What? Has Louis gone mad? How could he do such a thing?” Cezar Perth’s reaction was strong.

It seems he never expected Louis to smuggle goods.

His face was full of shock, his eyes darting back and forth. "Are you sure you're not mistaken? Louis is clearly just an ordinary businessman! His cold chain transportation company has been operating in China for a long time and is very profitable. He has no reason to get involved in smuggling!"

“Your analysis is correct; he really didn’t need to do that.” Wen Ni nodded in agreement, then abruptly changed the subject, “What if someone ordered him to do it?”

The interrogation room was quiet for a moment.

Caesar Perth slowly raised his head, looking at Wen Ni with a puzzled expression. "Are you doubting me?"

“I didn’t say that, you don’t need to be nervous.” Wen Ni’s eyes were indifferent. “It was just a routine inquiry.”

Caesar Perth, however, remained stern. "I'm not nervous, I just don't like being misunderstood."

"Sir, you may not know..."

“My parents were killed by drugs, so what I hate most is this kind of thing! I will never have anything to do with it in my life!”

As he spoke, his face was filled with a mixture of grief and indignation.

Seemingly recalling some unpleasant memories, he lowered his head, his hands clasped tightly together, even trembling slightly. "Louis got involved with this stuff; if he dies, he deserves it!"

“He used to like gambling and wanted to get me involved, but I refused. I even advised him to stay away from things that erode his willpower! I never expected him to only get worse, and now he’s even lost his life because of it…”

It was quite unexpected that Caesar Perth had such a background.

She glanced at Caesar Perth's reddened eyes and asked coldly, "When was the last time you met Louis?"
