Chapter 221 That’s Your Dad

Chapter 221 That's your dad

"And this is... Gan Chang'an? You must be Zhan's bodyguard? Go wait outside, it's not very convenient to talk here with all the women." Zhou Ruyi didn't give anyone a chance to explain, and murmured to the doctor beside her, "Zhan is a kind-hearted person, and Gan Chang'an is handsome, but... he's not very bright..."

"..." Ye Fou clicked his tongue.

"Auntie, he..." Luo Shu wanted to say something.

Zhou Ruyi quickly pushed the person away, "Good girl, you can't come along for things like this next time, girls will be shy."

The door was closed.

"..." Ye Fou sighed.

It's true what they say, "One is influenced by one's company." Absolutely right.

Luo Shu was hospitalized on Zhou Ruyi's advice.

Luo Qiu and Zhou Zhiyi arrived within half an hour.

Ye Fou had no chance to get any closer. Instead, he went to get himself checked out, and the results came back: nothing was wrong.

Seeing that Luo Shu was surrounded by members of the Yu family, Ye Fou also left the hospital.

After dropping Yu off, Gan Chang'an went to the hospital and waited at the entrance.

"Chang'an, next time you need to do something, remember to call when Shu'er is alone. Don't let those men outside take advantage of you, understand?!" Zhou Ruyi gently reminded her from the side.

"Okay, Auntie." Gan Chang'an nodded.

"Why would the elevator suddenly malfunction?" Zhou Zhiyi frowned.

A newly installed elevator shouldn't be this bad, and it should be regularly inspected and maintained. With current technology, there shouldn't be any problems.

Moreover, it's a small elevator, and the floors aren't very high.

"Thankfully, he's alright." Luo Qiu sat on the edge of the hospital bed.

Fortunately, Ye Fou protected her at the time; otherwise, who knows what might have happened.

She swallowed those words.

"The doctor said that I just need to rest and observe for two days, and if everything is fine, I can go home," Luo Shu comforted her.

She didn't want to just lie there and be taken care of by others.

Zhou Ruyi walked in from outside. "There was a little bleeding, not much, and the baby is fine. It's nothing serious, but you still need to rest well for the next few days. You can't move around too much, and it's best to stay in bed. You also can't have too many emotional fluctuations."

"Mm." Luo Shu nodded.

She was exhausted after all that fussing, so she rested for a bit and then fell asleep.

The ward fell silent.

Yu Zhan stood quietly by the door, waiting until she was fast asleep before carefully entering.

He gently stroked the woman's cheek, slipped his large hand under the covers and placed it on her lower abdomen, then leaned down slightly and placed a passionate kiss on her brow.

His gaze was firm and affectionate, like a ray of warm sunshine in winter, gentle yet powerful, his eyes full of love.

He dared not stay too long.

Aunt Xu said that she hasn't been sleeping well lately and often gets up in the middle of the night to drink water.

He squeezed the woman's small hand, hung a red string on her wrist, and then quietly left.

Yu Zhan left, and the door was gently closed.

Luo Shu turned over, her back to the door, and slightly opened her eyes.

When her clear eyes opened, glistening tears slid down her nose, fell onto the pillow, and stained it dark before disappearing into the cotton fabric.

His burning kiss seemed to still linger between her brows.

She reached out and touched her lower abdomen, murmuring, "That's your dad, can you feel it?"

Her lips curled slightly upwards, but then fell back down, turning into silent sobs.

If only this hadn't happened!

Meanwhile, Su Ting waited in a secluded corner of a coffee shop for Luo Shu to appear. Her hands, which had become somewhat wrinkled, were clenched into fists, and she clenched her teeth tightly. Her eyes under her baseball cap turned fierce.

Why isn't Luo Shu coming?

She should be angry!

What woman could tolerate this kind of treatment?

Did she figure something out?

Su Ting picked up the glass of cold water, took a trembling sip, and her fingertips holding the glass turned slightly white.

She was weighing the pros and cons of the matter.

She always thought that Luo Shu would be furious and would then send people to cause trouble for Su Ting.

Luo Shu has always been this kind of person; she always seeks revenge and will definitely not let anyone live.

But this time she didn't show up.

What exactly is Luo Shu trying to do?

She didn't choose to divorce Yu Zhan, nor did she leave the villa. Instead, she continued working as usual, and it seemed that nothing could affect her except for meeting with Yu Zhan.

What kind of person is she?

Su Ting swallowed hard, trying to calm herself down.

Since escaping from Shen Yan's clutches, she has been living on thin ice, hiding in a dark alleyway rented room, as if she were a wanted criminal, and she is very careful when she goes out.

Yu Zhan, however, seemed unconcerned.

why is that?

She waited in the coffee shop for another half hour, but Luo Shu still didn't appear.

Only then did he return to his old, dilapidated rented room.

She didn't notice that a man wearing a black windbreaker and a black baseball cap was following her.

When she opened the door to enter the room, it was blocked.

In that instant, the door was opened, and the man pinned the woman against it, covering her lips tightly with his hand.

"Click." The door was locked from the inside.

Su Ting was enveloped by the tall man in front of her, her hands were held and trapped behind her back, and the man was trapped between the door and the woman.

"Don't speak," the man said gently, "if you don't want anyone to find out."

Su Ting blinked, her trembling eyelashes seeming to recognize the man's voice.

She had stopped struggling.

The man then slowly released his grip.

In the dim light, Su Ting slowly made out the man in front of her.

It was early morning.

"How did you know I was here?" Su Ting was not very happy. When she saw that it was this man, she pushed him aside and walked into the living room.

"It's not hard to find out where you are."

After finishing his speech in the early morning, he took off his baseball cap, lowered his head, and stared intently at the place in front of him where only a sliver of sunlight shone in.

He frowned, gritted his teeth, and braced his hands on the slightly tattered sofa.

"You came to see me make a fool of myself?" Su Ting scoffed, picked up a slightly rusted stainless steel cup, and poured herself some water.

He walked up to her in the early morning, snatched her cup, and threw it into the sink next to her.

"Are you crazy, Lingchen?!" Su Ting said angrily, shoving him away.

In the early hours of the morning, he grabbed her with both hands and pulled her into his arms.

"Why do you think I came to find you?" Ling Chen pressed closer, gripping her hand even tighter.

"Let go!"

"You can shout louder!"

"What exactly do you want?" Su Ting asked, her eyes red, as she looked up to meet those dark pupils.

"You're framing President Yu with my child? Don't you think that's very unfair to me?" Ling Chen stared intently at her beautiful but lifeless eyes.

“…” Su Ting paused, “Do you know what you’re saying?”

"I know what I'm talking about. I wasn't drunk that night. I did it on purpose. Do you want to see evidence?" Ling Chen took out his phone from his pocket.

"Ah!" Su Ting pounded on Ling Chen's chest like a madwoman.

She felt a sense of shame, as if her secret had been exposed and she had been caught.

She couldn't remember why she ended up in bed with Ling Chen after drinking with him. They had clearly made it clear at the coffee shop that they would go their separate ways from now on, but when she wanted to take her medication, she found out she had her period. She couldn't take the medication and got pregnant the following month.

This wasn't part of her and Ye Fou's plan, but she wanted to do it.

But the situation has changed.

In the past few days, she has clearly felt that Yu Zhan had already found her. Although he did not do anything to her, it was enough to terrify her.

She could always hear someone knocking on the door in the middle of the night, and someone would follow her whenever she went out. Even when she was walking on the street, someone would harass her from time to time.

Her psychological defenses were about to be broken.

Rather than being watched like this, it would be better to be taken back by him and interrogated.

She couldn't sleep at night, and she was like a zombie, living a life that was neither human nor ghost.

She lost the will to struggle.

In the early hours of the morning, he didn't turn on his phone, but instead reached out and hugged the person tightly.

"Don't do anything foolish again, Su Su. You know, I came back from abroad for you, and I joined Yu's company for you. I didn't expect you to leave so soon after I joined. I've liked you for a long time, Su Su."

"You can leave now."
