Chapter 311 He wouldn't really want to celebrate his birthday.
Early the next morning.
When Luo Shu arrived at the studio, Yuan Chenxi was already there.
"Why are you here?" Luo Shu asked.
Yuan Chenxi looked exhausted. She had spent the whole night helping out at her brother's bar and didn't get to sleep until the early hours of the morning. This morning, she heard from the workers that there was a small problem with the signboard of SY Studio.
She hadn't originally planned to come over, but seeing that the worker didn't seem to care much, she thought she'd come and supervise, and if things got really bad, she'd replace him. But today the worker went on strike, so she found someone else to come over temporarily.
The light strip inside is faulty, so the side sign light needs to be removed for inspection and then reinstalled. That's why she has to stay here and keep an eye on things.
Yuan Chenxi briefly explained the situation to Luo Shu: "I'm sorry for the delay."
"It's not a big deal."
Yuan Chenxi: "Do you have anything to eat here? I haven't had breakfast yet."
I went to bed late last night and overslept this morning. I didn't have time to find something to eat, and I'm completely confused by all these things this morning.
SY Studio doesn't have many advertisements, nor are they very big, but since they are considered close friends, she still had to come and take a look, especially since there had been some problems.
Luo Shu: "Yes, there is, but you'll have to wait a bit."
"As long as there's food, I'm not picky," Yuan Chenxi said with a smile.
Luo Shu entered the studio. There was indeed food in the studio; Yu Zhan had prepared a lot of food for her, just in case she was hungry.
Leng Xichen has been bringing them things frequently during his visits lately.
They're all still in the fridge, so I guess I'll have to take them out and heat them up.
When Luo Shu walked to the backyard, she saw Leng Xichen sweeping the floor.
A strong wind blew last night, and the yard was full of fallen leaves. The osmanthus tree also shed a lot of petals.
As soon as I stepped inside, I smelled a faint floral fragrance.
Luo Shu: "You've arrived."
Leng Xichen straightened up, holding the broom, glanced at her, and hummed in agreement.
He was wearing a white shirt today, and his suit jacket was still hanging on the rocking chair in the yard.
I estimate he will leave around noon.
"Have you had breakfast?" Luo Shu asked.
"have eaten."
He ate breakfast before coming over. He had spent a long time at the bar last night and wanted to come over to take a nap. He bought some bread and soy milk from a roadside stall and then came over.
"Don't tell Yu Zhan about what I asked you that day," Luo Shu quietly reminded him.
"Okay." He nodded and continued sweeping.
He probably realized that Luo Shu was looking for Yu Zhan.
"Are you planning to celebrate his birthday?" Leng Xichen suddenly asked.
"Yes, do you have any good suggestions?" Luo Shu smiled.
“…” Leng Xichen remained silent for a while before saying, “He probably doesn’t really want to celebrate his birthday.”
"Why?" she asked, puzzled.
Leng Xichen's expression wasn't very good, but he still said, "It was also on that day that he injured his leg."
"..."
Luo Shu seemed to have hit a nerve with all of them.
Leng Xichen continued sweeping the floor.
Luo Shu went back to the backyard and heated up breakfast for Yuan Chenxi in the kitchen.
She stared at the sizzling pot, weighing whether or not she should celebrate her birthday.
September 20th.
That day, Yu Zhan broke his leg, Leng Xichen disappeared without a trace, Lu Min and Wen Mo were all injured, and their entire team was scattered.
That day was the most difficult day of their lives, a scene they still dare not face, a scar that remains raw and painful to this day.
Luo Shu's mood suddenly became heavy; this matter was not just about Yu Zhan.
She turned off the gas and took out the steamed shrimp dumplings and shumai from the pot.
Before anyone knew it, Leng Xichen walked in wearing a suit.
"I'm going back now," he said.
Luo Shu paused in her movements, clearly noticing the redness at the corners of Leng Xichen's eyes.
“Okay.” Luo Shu suddenly felt like she had done something wrong. “Yuan Chenxi is outside the door. Could you take this to her for me? She hasn’t had breakfast yet.”
She handed the breakfast in her hand to Leng Xichen.
He did not refuse and took it.
Although they had been here for the past few days, and Yuan Chenxi had been supervising the work outside, the two had never run into each other. He recognized Yuan Chenxi, so this was just a convenient thing to do.
Just as Leng Xichen took the plate from Luo Shu, Zhang Xin rushed in.
"Chenxi has fainted!"
Both of them were taken aback, and then hurriedly followed Zhang Xin out.
Yuan Chenxi suffered from heatstroke, and coupled with not eating breakfast, she must have low blood sugar.
Yuan Xi and Yuan Nan worked together to carry her to the hall. The air conditioning in the hall made her feel much better, but she was still drowsy and barely conscious.
Yuanxi gave her a cup of sugar water and pinched her philtrum.
"Take him to the hospital," Leng Xichen said.
Zhang Xin: "I'll go get the car!"
Yuan Xi and Yuan Nan: "We can't lift it."
Luo Shu turned her gaze to Leng Xichen, "Xichen."
"..." Leng Xichen bent down, picked her up without hesitation, and walked outside.
Zhang Xin drove, Luo Shu sat in the passenger seat, and Leng Xichen held Yuan Chenxi in the back seat, his gaze fixed on her neck.
That little red mole.
It's her.
Leng Xichen reached out and brushed her hair aside, his fingertips caressing her red mole.
It was indeed her.
Luo Shu looked back and happened to see this scene.
Leng Xichen quickly withdrew his hand.
Luo Shu asked, "She should be alright, right?"
"Her pulse is weak. She should go to the hospital for an IV of glucose and rest for a day or two." Leng Xichen looked down at her. "Did you call her brother?"
"I've already notified them," Luo Shu said.
Leng Xichen nodded.
Yuan Chenxi, nestled in his arms, frowned, trying to open her eyes but unable to, gasping for breath in discomfort.
The air conditioning was on in the car, and the windows were open.
She reached out and tightly gripped Leng Xichen's coat.
"It hurts..." she managed to squeeze out those two words.
I felt like my brain was about to explode, and my breathing became rapid; I couldn't catch my breath at all.
"Take a deep breath and don't move around. Conserve your energy."
Leng Xichen's intermittent voice reached her ears, and she seemed to understand, so she obeyed and did as he said.
Upon arriving at the hospital, she was taken to the emergency room. Luo Shu couldn't keep up with Leng Xichen's pace, so Zhang Xin went to park the car.
Leng Xichen placed her on the bed in the emergency room, but Yuan Chenxi still clung tightly to his coat.
His phone kept ringing.
Helpless, he had no choice but to take off his coat and drape it over her shoulders.
The nurse beside her hurriedly examined her and asked Leng Xichen some questions about her.
Leng Xichen wasn't quite sure either, only that she hadn't eaten breakfast and was still working under the scorching sun early in the morning.
The nurse roughly understood, so she drew the curtain and told him to go outside and wait.
Luo Shu had already arrived when he was standing outside.
"How is she?" Luo Shu asked breathlessly.
"There shouldn't be any major problems." Leng Xichen told her to sit down and wait.
"That's good." Her palms were sweating from fright.
"When will her family arrive?" Leng Xichen asked.
"They should be here soon. When I called her brother, he had already left. I told him to come directly to the emergency room."
"I have to go." Leng Xichen said.
He didn't want too many people to know that he was the one who carried her in; it wouldn't look good if others saw him like this.
“…Okay.” Luo Shu.
Leng Xichen got up and left.
Luo Shu noticed that he wasn't wearing his coat.
