Chapter 194 An Accident Occurred
The factory is in the suburbs, and my home is not far from there.
Luo Shu sat in the passenger seat, Ye Fou drove, and several members of his team rode in the car with his assistant.
She turned her head to look at the man driving.
He seems to have always been used to being alone, which is very similar to myself.
His father passed away early, and Teacher Hu raised him alone. Teacher Hu had high hopes for him, and he was successful. At a young age, he had already established his own career and even secured government projects.
He is rich, good-looking, and capable; he is a rare talent.
For some reason, Ye Fou always gives people a mysterious and unapproachable feeling.
Luo Shu spent a lot of time with him when she was a child, but she still felt a sense of distance from him and couldn't get close to him.
Even though the two of them were exchange students from a well-known school in S country that year and stayed in China for a year, Ye Fou took care of her in every way, but she still couldn't muster any feelings for him.
Later, when they met Professor Chen, they were still like ordinary senior and junior students.
After he graduated, the two basically lost contact completely. If it weren't for that fashion show where they went to his house to pick winter plum blossoms, they probably wouldn't have had any chance to meet.
Ye Fou, who was driving, seemed to sense her gaze, smiled slightly, and glanced at her sideways.
"What's wrong? Is there something on my face?"
Luo Shu seemed a little flustered by being caught out. "No, I was just worried that you wouldn't be able to drive properly. You drove all day yesterday and drank last night, so I thought you wouldn't be very energetic this morning."
"I'm not afraid," Ye Fou replied calmly.
Perhaps because she had heard Yu Zhan say so many lewd things, she felt a little uncomfortable when she suddenly heard Ye Fou say "not false".
She did not respond.
The car was parked in the factory's parking lot.
Others arrived one after another.
Today's itinerary was simple: accompanying the leaders to inspect the progress of garment production and the quality of materials.
However, most of the time they just come out to put on a show.
Luo Shu wanted to see more than just what was on the surface; she wanted to see her own achievements, the ones she had poured her heart and soul into.
The factory manager led the group into the factory.
Luo Shu rarely saw factories of this scale, let alone factories that cooperated with the government.
Her previous goal was to become a prominent figure in the design industry; she never imagined she could participate in national projects.
This is an incredible opportunity for a designer her age.
Now she's someone who can speak on this level.
Ye Fou watched as her thoughts drifted, her eyes filled with longing, and he reached out to pat her head.
"What, are you dumbfounded?"
Luo Shu couldn't avoid it, and only felt a warm sensation enveloping her head.
She paused for a moment, smiled, and did not respond, continuing her tour, but she became more cautious and wary of Ye Fou's approach.
They went to the ironing area.
The final step in making the finished garments is ironing them, then letting them air dry before packaging.
They were using steam irons, and the whole area was filled with the heavy thud of irons hitting clothes and the sizzling sound of soda.
Luo Shu watched as they put transparent dust bags over the clothes, and the finished product was complete.
She couldn't help but pick it up and examine it closely.
This is not just a finished product; it is their hard work and a masterpiece that bears witness to their glory.
"This year's clothing seems more sophisticated than in previous years," a leader remarked, observing the embellishments and design of the garments.
"It looks like it's reached a higher level," the person next to him began to agree.
"The scale is no worse than in previous years."
...
Luo Shu didn't say anything; Ye Fou handled most of the negotiations with them.
Finally, they arrived at the warehouse.
A small portion of the clothes have already been completed, and people are gradually pushing carts to place the clothes on the mobile shelves.
The factory manager patiently explained the situation to the leaders.
Luo Shu stood beside the mobile shelving unit, watching the workers place the clothes on the shelves. She casually picked up a garment from the shelf, opened it to check the size, and then held it up to her face.
It was nearly noon. The workers arranging the clothes and Luo Shu were separated by a shelving unit. Perhaps they were in a hurry to get off work, as one of the workers carried a heavy stack of clothes and slammed it onto the shelving unit.
The shelf, propelled by inertia, tipped towards Luo Shu.
Luo Shu was sketching the clothes when, before she could react, darkness fell over her as she was pressed down by a heavy, burning weight.
His head slammed into a rough and hard palm.
A muffled groan of discomfort reached her ears.
All around were the sounds of metal frames being knocked down one after another.
The surrounding crowd screamed in fright.
"President Ye! Teacher Luo!"
"Quick! Save them!"
"Lift up the steel frame!"
...
A moment of panic ensued in the crowd.
Luo Shu didn't feel much pain; she was just terrified.
She slowly opened her eyes, and what came into view was Ye Fou's delicate and beautiful face.
Ye Fou pressed down on her, rendering her unable to move, and she used her hands to block between the two of them.
He used the last of his strength to support himself on either side of her, without pressing down on her too much, afraid that she would feel embarrassed.
Behind him were heavy shelves and clothes pressing down on him.
"Ye Fou..." Luo Shu's heart pounded wildly with fear.
The shelf is made of steel; how could it not hurt if it fell on you?
"Don't move."
Ye Fou lowered his voice, which was slightly hoarse and carried an unbearable pain.
She dared not move.
People nearby rushed over to help lift and move the steel frame.
Luo Shu looked at him, and their eyes met.
He was sweating profusely, his teeth clenched, and his cheekbones became even more prominent.
“You…” She didn’t know what to say.
"Don't speak." He didn't have the energy to respond to her.
The steel frame was quickly lifted up.
Ye Fou breathed a sigh of relief, but he couldn't get up. He lay down on his side next to Luo Shu and took deep breaths.
Luo Shu hurriedly got up and knelt in front of him, but dared not touch him.
"How are you feeling? Are you alright?" Her eyes were full of anxiety.
People nearby also came over to greet them.
"Should we call an ambulance?"
"President Ye's heroic rescue was timely; otherwise, if that steel frame had collapsed, Teacher Luo might not have escaped this calamity."
"If the steel frame falls down, I'll probably be bedridden for several days."
...
Ye Fou ignored the others and looked at the woman in front of him, forcing a smile as he said, "It's okay, it's not a big problem."
Luo Shu swallowed.
How could nothing be wrong?
The steel frame is so heavy, how could it not hurt if it fell on you?
After hearing what they said, Luo Shu felt an even stronger surge of guilt.
"Can you get up? I'll take you to the hospital."
Luo Shu glanced at the men squatting beside her, examining her.
Several men carefully helped the person up.
"..." Ye Fou stood up despite the pain, feeling a series of piercing pains emanating from his back!
"Are you alright?" Ye Fou couldn't help but ask her with concern.
"You should worry about yourself!" Luo Shu said, somewhat annoyed.
Even though he's injured like this, he still has the mind to care about others.
"I'm so sorry, the new workers don't know the rules. Please go to the hospital first, and I'll cover all the subsequent expenses! Don't worry! I'll definitely give you a satisfactory answer!" The factory manager apologized repeatedly.
The leader couldn't help but scold: "You have absolutely no safety awareness, and you're completely irresponsible in your work..."
He launched into a tirade.
Ye Fou and Luo Shu are not only well-known designers, but their backers are also people they can't afford to offend. Making a mistake here would be tantamount to courting death!
"Yes, yes, yes..." the factory manager humbly echoed.
