Chapter 13 It's a pity, I'm your ex-wife now.
When they reached the second floor, the sounds below could no longer be heard. Jin Changyu quickened his pace and caught up with Sang Qian.
"You don't get along with them?"
Sang Qian didn't even glance at him, and continued walking upstairs. "As you can see, I am an unfilial daughter."
The two had just reached the stairwell between the second and third floors when Jin Changyu took a long stride, stood in front of Sang Qian, shook his head, and said definitively:
"It's because they treated you badly."
"It's not that you're unfilial."
Some facts are one thing if you know them yourself, but when others say them, they can easily stir up emotions buried deep in your heart.
Sang Qian was suddenly overwhelmed with emotion, and her eyes stung. She bit her lip tightly and lowered her head, remaining silent.
Looking at her stubborn yet subtly aggrieved expression, Jin Changyu felt as if his heart had been pierced.
He had accompanied her back to the Sang family home a few times. During those times, she did not get along well with the Sang family, and her attitude towards them was not like it is today. Therefore, he thought that even though his mother-in-law was no longer there, at least his father-in-law was still good to her.
Unexpectedly, Sang Zhiming treated Xu Manrong even better than his own daughter.
Why have you never told me these things before?
Upon hearing this, Sang Qian's long eyelashes fluttered, and the tips of her drooping fingers curled slightly.
There was already a significant gap in family background between her and Jin Changyu.
She used to admire him and always wanted to show him her best side so that she could be worthy of him. How could she let him know her miserable side?
Therefore, she never told him about the rejection and cold treatment she received in the Sang family. Even when she returned to the Sang family with him, she tried her best to suppress her disgust and pretend that everything was fine, not wanting him to see the ugly side of the Sang family.
But things are different now.
In five days, their cooling-off period will end. Once they receive their divorce certificates, she and Jin Changyu will be on parallel lines.
She no longer cared how he viewed the Sang family or how he viewed her.
So just now, in front of him, she acted without restraint.
"What good would it do to tell you?" she chuckled. "Could you help me deal with these people?"
Why not?
Jin Changyu stared intently into her reddened eyes, his tone serious, "As long as you want."
Sang Qian paused for a moment, then chuckled.
That was in the past.
"It's a pity, I'm your ex-wife now."
She walked past the tall man and continued up to the third floor.
"You have no obligation to stand up for me now."
Jin Changyu followed behind her, "Sang Qian, I'm always here for you, whenever you want..."
"Ugh~"
Before he could finish speaking, the woman in front of him suddenly covered her mouth and ran quickly towards the room. Jin Changyu was stunned for a moment, then hurried after her.
Sang Qian rushed straight to the bathroom after entering her room.
"vomit……"
Jin Changyu followed her in and saw her retching at the sink. His eyes narrowed, and he quickly went over to support her.
"What’s wrong with you?"
Sang Qian gagged a few times but didn't vomit anything. Once the tightness in her chest subsided, she straightened up.
"It's nothing. I guess I just ate too much and the pig's trotters were a bit greasy, so I felt nauseous."
Jin Changyu looked at her pale face and patted her back. "Are you feeling better now?"
Sang Qian pressed her hand to her chest, her eyes moist, and said, "Mmm."
Jin Changyu raised his hand and gently wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes. "Why are you acting like a child? Don't you even know when you're hungry or full?"
He ate nonstop because it was delicious, and he even ate so much that he vomited.
Silly.
His sudden touch made Sang Qian freeze, and she instinctively took a step back to avoid his hand.
Jin Changyu's hand froze in mid-air. He glanced at her and silently withdrew his hand.
"I'll go ask my second uncle if he has any digestive medicine."
"Need not."
Sang Qian quickly shook her head.
She had just suddenly felt nauseous, but now she doesn't feel that way anymore.
"I'm fine. My second uncle always goes to bed early, so don't disturb him."
Are you really alright?
Jin Changyu looked at her expression with concern.
Sang Qian: "I'm really fine."
"Then go outside and sit down and rest for a while. If you still feel unwell, I'll go to my second uncle's to get some medicine."
Sang Qian looked up at him. Perhaps it was because the bathroom light was a warm orange, but the man's face looked gentle and soft, unlike his usual cold demeanor.
"Um."
Sang Qian withdrew her gaze, lowered her head, and walked past him out.
When Sang Qian walked into the bedroom, she saw that Chen Ma had placed her and Jin Changyu's suitcases next to each other, and she suddenly remembered that Jin Changyu had to stay in the same room with her tonight.
To outsiders, they are still considered a married couple.
Hearing the man's footsteps approaching behind her, Sang Qian secretly composed herself, and when she turned around, her face was as calm as still water.
"I'm going to take a shower first."
After saying that, she went to the closet to get her pajamas.
She glanced at the seasonal slip dress, then reached for a set of long-sleeved ice silk pajamas before going into the bathroom.
After taking a shower, I saw Jin Changyu sitting on a small sofa, deep in thought, seemingly lost in thought.
Seeing him raise his eyes, Sang Qian quickly avoided his gaze.
Even so, she still felt a strong gaze on her, and even though she was wearing a conservative long-sleeved nightgown, she felt inexplicably uncomfortable.
"People in the countryside go to bed early, you should go take a shower too."
She urged.
The man stood up. "Okay."
Sang Qian didn't look at him, but heard the sound of a suitcase being pulled open and then closed again. After that, the man went into the bathroom.
Sang Qian breathed a sigh of relief the moment the door was locked.
She glanced at the bed that Chen Ma had made and felt a little helpless.
The sofa in her room was small, unlike the sofa in the master bedroom of Royal Bay, which was big enough for a person to sleep on.
So tonight, she and Jin Changyu can only sleep in the same bed.
Fortunately, after she got married, her second uncle specially replaced her bed with a two-meter-wide one, so the two of them could sleep on it, each on one side, which was quite separate.
After thinking for a moment, Sang Qian turned around and took another blanket from the wardrobe.
*
When Jin Changyu came out after taking a shower, he saw Sang Qian sitting on one side of the bed, covered with a thin pink blanket, and a blue blanket next to her.
Sang Qian looked up, and her gaze was suddenly met with the man's well-defined chest, causing her to gasp for breath.
"Why are you wearing shorts out like this?"
She glared at the man who was only wearing a pair of shorts and had his upper body bare.
Even if they're forced to live in the same house, they're divorced now, okay?
He just wanders around here because he's got a good physique. Doesn't he have any manners at all?
Don't you know you should dress appropriately?
"Aunt Li forgot to put my pajamas in when she was helping me pack my luggage," Jin Changyu said innocently.
Sang Qian, "..."
Is Aunt Li really that careless in her work?
Jin Changyu saw the woman who always drooled over his abs disgustedly grab the blue air conditioning blanket next to her and throw it at him, saying, "Wrap yourself up tightly."
Jin Changyu, who caught the blanket: "..."
“You can sleep over there tonight,” Sang Qian said, pointing to the other side of the bed. “We’ll keep to ourselves and make do for one night.”
"This is the Chu River boundary."
She gestured with her hand in the center of the bed, warning, "Sleep properly and don't go over this line."
"good."
Jin Changyu nodded seriously before taking the blanket and getting into bed on that side.
After getting into bed and spreading out the blankets, he turned his head and saw that Sang Qian was already lying down under the blankets, her slender body pressed tightly against the edge of the bed under the thin blankets, leaving a large space between them.
If she doesn't cross the Chu River boundary, she doesn't need to be that far away, right?
"Sang Qian..."
"No talking, turn off the lights and go to sleep!"
As Sang Qian interrupted him, she reached over and turned off the light at the bedside table.
The room instantly darkened, with only a sliver of moonlight filtering through the window.
After glancing at the woman sleeping with her back to him, Jin Changyu obediently shut his mouth and lay down quietly.
But he didn't close his eyes to sleep; instead, he stared at the ceiling and waited silently.
