Chapter 81 Don't Always Hold My Hand

Chapter 81 Don't Always Hold My Hand

Sang Qian thought that his online handling of emergency issues would only take about ten minutes, but in the end, more than half an hour had passed and he was still busy.

She had already finished her snacks, but he still hadn't come over for soup.

The office was quiet. Bored, Sang Qian leaned back on the sofa and started watching silent videos.

The sofa in Jin Changyu's office is really nice and comfortable. She was being a bit lazy and scrolling through videos when drowsiness crept into her eyes.

After an unknown amount of time, Jin Changyu finished the meeting, took off his headphones, and looked towards the sofa. He saw a petite woman curled up asleep on the sofa.

He got up and walked over quietly. He saw that her phone, which had fallen to the ground, was still playing a silent video, but she was already fast asleep.

He glanced at his wrist; it was already 1:30.

She was going to take a nap anyway, so Jin Changyu didn't intend to wake her. Instead, he bent down and gently picked her up, carrying her into his lounge.

The woman was fast asleep, soft and cuddly in my arms. She didn't wake up even when I placed her on the bed.

Jin Changyu sat on the edge of the bed, gently tucking her in, his gaze lingering on her beautiful sleeping face.

It's better if she's asleep; her face is peaceful and soft, without a trace of indifference, and she doesn't resist him at all.

Jin Changyu's gaze slowly descended from her beautiful eyebrows and eyes, past her delicate nose, and finally settled on her lips.

Her lips parted slightly, and she breathed softly.

Jin Changyu's Adam's apple bobbed violently, and he couldn't help but lean down and slowly approach her until they were so close that their breaths mingled. He paused for a moment, and then his thin lips pressed very lightly against her slightly parted, soft lips.

The soft touch is irresistible.

Jin Changyu clenched his fists tightly against the edge of the bed to restrain himself before slowly sitting up.

He used to kiss her, and he would never just give her a light touch and call it a night. Every time he kissed her soft lips, he couldn't help but kiss her deeply and ask for more.

But now, even if he thinks about it, he can only endure it.

Suppressing the intense emotions threatening to overflow his eyes, he took a deep breath and forced himself to get up and leave the lounge.

*

Sang Qian woke up from her sleep, her eyes groggily opening. The scene before her was unfamiliar to her. She sat up abruptly, looked around, and only when her thoughts gradually cleared did she realize that this was the lounge in Jin Changyu's office.

She's been here before.

only……

Why is she sleeping here?

I glanced at the wall clock.

3 PM?

She actually slept here for so long?

Sang Qian quickly got out of bed, tidied her clothes and hair, and then turned and went out.

As soon as she pushed open the door and stepped outside, she saw Gao Ze standing in front of his desk reporting to Jin Changyu. She instinctively stopped at the doorway.

Just as he was about to retreat, Jin Changyu looked over.

"Are you awake?"

Sang Qian could only stop her retreating steps and nodded slightly, "Mm."

The woman's face was flushed from sleeping, but she pursed her lips, as if she was a little unhappy. Jin Changyu quickly gestured for Gao Ze to go out first, and then got up and walked towards her.

She asked softly, "What's wrong? Are you not sleeping comfortably here?"

"..."

Is this a comfortable or uncomfortable thing?

Sang Qian frowned slightly, "Why didn't you wake me up? You even put me in the room to sleep."

She never slept in his room when she was his wife, so what's the meaning of her sleeping in his private room now that they're divorced?

So that's why.

Jin Changyu explained to her, "I saw you were sleeping soundly and didn't want to wake you, and I was also worried that you wouldn't be comfortable sleeping on the sofa, so I carried you inside to sleep."

Sang Qian didn't say anything more, only sighed in her heart.

Sigh, it's mainly her own fault. Ever since she got pregnant, sometimes when she sleeps, she really sleeps like a pig.

The kind that you can't wake up no matter how much you call it.

"Have you finished your soup?"

She looked towards the sofa and, not seeing the food container, asked, "Where are the cutlery?"

"The secretary took it, washed it, and left it outside."

"Okay, then I'm off."

Sang Qian walked to the sofa but didn't see the bag she had left there when she came in.

Where is my bag?

She turned around and saw Jin Changyu take his suit and her bag off the coat rack next to his office.

"I'll take you back."

Sang Qian hesitated for a moment, then immediately refused, "No need, I have Lao Chen to deliver it."

"I've already sent Old Chen back."

"What?" Sang Qian looked at him in astonishment. "Why did you let Old Chen leave?"

"I didn't know how long you were going to sleep, so I didn't want to keep him waiting."

"No need to trouble yourself, I'll just call a car..."

“It’s not safe to call a taxi,” Jin Changyu said. “You’re pregnant, so it’s better to use your own car.”

Sang Qian, "..."

Since you knew that, why did you let Old Chen leave? Isn't that a bit crazy?

She looked at the man putting on his coat. "Then just have your driver take me. What are you going to do there?"

Jin Changyu said calmly, "I don't have anything to do this afternoon, so I'll head back early too."

Sang Qian thought she had misheard and pointed to the clock on the wall, "Are you sure? It's only a little past three o'clock."

Jin Changyu looked at her seriously. "I'm sure."

He said he would arrange his work reasonably in the future and try to spend more time with her.

He had already sped up and finished his work this afternoon while she was sleeping.

Seeing that she was still in a daze, he picked up her bag with one hand and reached out to take her hand with the other, saying, "Let's go."

Sang Qian raised her hand and slapped his hand away, saying with a stern face, "You need to get rid of this bad habit of yours."

Jin Changyu, who had been hit, looked bewildered. "What bad habit?"

"Don't keep holding my hand."

Sang Qian said, "Even if you don't hold your wife's hand, no one will say you have a bad public image."

Jin Changyu, “…”

So she thought he held her hand to create a persona for himself in front of others?

In fact, this action of his had long become a habit. Whenever he stood next to her, he couldn't help but naturally want to hold her hand.

Sometimes, he would take the hand without even realizing it.

Sang Qian took her bag back from him and walked out.

Jin Changyu caught up with him and took the bag back. "You're pregnant, so it's not a bad thing for me to help you carry things, is it?"

"Okay, then I'll take it as a blessing from my baby."

Sang Qian stopped fighting with him over a bag.

The two left the office, and the secretary handed them a lunchbox, which Jin Changyu took. He then left the company with Sang Qian.

I'm home.

Seeing the woman go straight upstairs without stopping for a moment, Jin Changyu reached out and grabbed her.

Sang Qian turned to look at him, "What are you doing?"

"Didn't you just take a nap in the office?"

"I'm not going to sleep."

"If you're not sleeping, why do you have to be in your room during the day? Is it because I'm home? Don't you want to see me?"

"No." Sang Qian pushed his hand away. "I just wanted to go to my room to study that set of covered bowls."

Jin Changyu asked, "Why should we study it?"

Because she had borrowed something from someone else, Sang Qian rarely explained, "My senior sister gave me a hand-pressed cup from the same period as your collection, but it was damaged and needs repair, so I borrowed your collection to study it."

"I see," Jin Changyu asked. "May I see your cup?"

Why are you looking at it?

"I'm a little curious about what the antiques looked like before they were restored, so I'd like to see them. Is that alright?"

Seeing that he was serious, Sang Qian paused for a moment, then nodded, "Okay."

He lent her his expensive collection, she can't be so stingy as to not let him see her things.
