Talk

Tang Pai, who had been waiting downstairs, opened the door for Su, his impatience barely concealed on his face. As soon as he got into the car, he blurted out, "From last night until this morning, Su's stock has been falling continuously. There's a constant sell-off all over the world. Several shareholders and directors have either called or are waiting for you at the company..."

"Pai Pai, where's Ge Jin?"

"Handling matters at the company."

"Next time, let Ge Jin pick me up. You're giving me a headache. At least Ge Jin can keep quiet because he can read my face."

"I'm sorry, Mr. Su."

"No need to apologize, it's just the truth. You didn't do anything wrong either. Just don't worry too much. As long as the Su family doesn't go bankrupt, I'll be fine."

Su Yao secretly glanced at the frightened girl. Ge Jin, who had been with the company for the same amount of time as her, could quickly assess the situation and make all the necessary preparations, waiting for her orders. Tang Pai, on the other hand, possessed too many beautiful feminine qualities: she was kind-hearted, considerate of others, and had a strong sense of empathy. However, she lacked too much experience, which would hinder her personal judgment due to her emotions.

But judging from her character and abilities that are no less than Ge Jin's, Tang Pai will only do better than Ge Jin in a few years. This survival-of-the-fittest hunting ground desperately needs animal trainers to tame wild beasts, and that is precisely why she took a liking to Tang Pai in the first place.

To put it simply, she was attracted to her because she was a good person, and Su could never be that kind of person in her life.

Su looked out the window and smiled.

Step through the gate and get out of the car.

The towering skyscraper, its glass windows reflecting the light, the word "Su" everywhere, is like a Leaning Tower of Pisa that could collapse at any moment, teetering on the brink of collapse, yet magnificent.

No one knows better than Su that the reason Su's Group has been able to survive for so long is nothing more than temporary layoffs and a continuous stream of investments obtained through deception and fraud.

She was just a hair's breadth away from escaping this mirage of fantasy, but the pawns on the chessboard leaped up and turned the tables on her.

No, you're wrong. In a game between two people, how can there be a third party? She and Su Wensheng are merely puppets on strings.

Are you just going up like this?

"What? Do I need to put on makeup? Change into a dress?"

"No, it's just that those people look very angry."

"What's there to be angry about? It was Su Qingye who made the decision, not me. Besides, you won't get anything out of hitting me."

Tang Pai learned not to talk too much, and after giving Su Yao a proper reminder, she followed him into the president's office.

"Tsk, this CEO's office used to be my cheap old man's place. Do you think it'll be moved so quickly?"

"Everything has been moved. We were notified last night, but we were all at the banquet and it was too late to get back."

"Hahahaha, Su Qingye, you've got Su Wensheng waiting for me here too."

With a laugh, Su stepped into the noisy CEO's office.

"Su Yao, you're here. I demand an explanation from you all." The man with cold, sharp eyes lifted his suit jacket, raised his hand with his white shirt tucked in, and pointed at Su Yao. Ge Jin felt a gust of wind in front of him, took a step back, and lowered his eyes.

"What kind of explanation do you want?"

"Your Su family just let you take office like that? You're not listening to any of our board's opinions? Aren't you being irresponsible to us?"

"Yeah, yeah, what's going on?" The people around him chimed in, but Su Yao was exhausted by the lowlifes who only knew how to pour oil. It seemed that today's matter was easy to resolve.

Raising her hand, she gestured with four fingers to signal everyone to be quiet. Although Su Yao was already over thirty, she stood out among the group of men in their fifties and sixties. Her demeanor, cultivated since childhood, ensured that she would never be intimidated. "Today, I only have one sentence: whoever wants to take over the Su family, I will sign a contract immediately. But if no one wants to take over, then you don't need to come here and bully a junior like me. What good will it do if I don't want to do what's right?"

The blame was immediately shifted to Su Qingye and Su Wensheng. Su Yao, who was like a puppet, suddenly stood up. The people in the president's office exchanged glances, each with their own ulterior motives.

They don't seem to be united either.

"Then you have to give us some explanation. We're a little worried about a young girl like you managing such a big company. We're just thinking of you, Xiao Su."

After glancing at the person who had spoken, Su Yao quickly changed his expression. "Of course, all of you uncles have a share in this company, and I will remember that. So I, Su Yao, hereby announce that a shareholders' meeting will be held in a week. I will hold a vote. If the majority of shareholders do not agree to me becoming the CEO, then I will transfer my grandmother's shares to my father. But if my father does not accept them, all shareholders will be allocated a portion of the shares."

The soft, delicate voice delivered a thunderous announcement, startling everyone in the president's office. They thought Su Yao had only two options: either give them more money or sign some earth-shattering contract to make her rightfully in charge. But she immediately wanted to step down and give way, which was inconsistent with her usual behavior and quite different from her usual self.

No one dared to answer, but Ge Jin stepped forward at the opportune moment, saying evasively, "President Su, there's another contract for you to sign over there. Please come downstairs."

"Okay, remember to move all my things back."

Back in his familiar office, Su simply lay back on the sofa and dozed off. So much had happened that morning; he figured the news he'd just released would spread throughout the business world in no time.

Su Qingye and Su Wensheng insisted that she take over this mess, but she would not do as they wished. No matter who she betrayed or what infamy she bore, she would not let them manipulate her like she had for the past thirty years.

Besides...

"Tang Pai, come in here for a moment."

A knock sounded at the door, and Tang Pai, adjusting his glasses, walked in. "President Su, is there something you need?"

"What's the situation over there? Is it having a significant impact?"

"Not really. The situation with the Su family is already enough to give the Chamber of Commerce a huge headache, so they haven't been targeted."

Su rarely sighed, but when Tang Pai heard the sigh, he suddenly looked up, "President Su..."

"It's nothing, I'm just worried."

"Things here should be mostly settled and won't cause any more trouble, you..."

"It's not the same thing. Hey, where did you graduate from again?"

“University XX in the United States”.

"What's the environment like there?"

"Well enough."

"So, do you think An Chi is qualified to go there?"

"Young master can go to a better place."

"Okay, go ahead and get busy."

Tang nodded and left the room.

Looking up at the sky outside the French windows again, Su Yao remained silent for a long time. Everyone knew that An Chi was the young master of the Su family, but that relationship had ended abruptly on his eighteenth birthday. She shouldn't have let him fall so low and return to where he originally was, a place that was no longer suitable for him. And wasn't the same true for her? She had to think of a way out for him. There should be many.

It was just a house, which she could afford. Thinking about it, she sent a message to Ge Jin: "Draft a house transfer contract in the city center and send it to An Chi for him to sign."

When the contract was delivered to An Chi, it was already night. It was the weekend, and he didn't need to go to school, but he needed to work part-time. So when he got home from work, he was a little surprised to see Ge Jin sitting at the table working.

"Young Master, you're back." A polite greeting was enough; Ge Jin placed the contract directly in front of An Chi. "Here's a contract that you need to sign."

It's a "need," not a "consideration." This is an order, something she did. Is she planning to deny everything she did last night? Is she planning to just walk away after taking advantage of her?

His brows furrowed, his hands clenched tightly. "I don't need it. You tell Su Yao."

He called her "Su Yao," not "Sister Su Yao." This surprised Ge Jin. In the past, this young master had respected President Su more than they, the working class, had. Now, he was so arrogant.

Unfortunately, Ge Jin guessed wrong; it wasn't "arrogance," but rather "anger."

An Chi was angry. He was angry that Su Yao refused to agree to his request and instead tried to shut him up by offering a room.

"Young Master, this is President Su's order, and I cannot disobey it." Ge Jin lowered his head, adopting a somewhat conciliatory attitude.

"I'll call her." In fact, even An Chi himself wasn't sure if Su Yao would answer his call. He was just trying, since she was very busy.

The busy tone of the phone carried a silent, heart-pounding tone.

Immediately, the clear female voice on the other end of the phone, "What's wrong?", made him secretly delighted.

"Why are you giving me a room?" Ge Jin tactfully retreated to the balcony to wait, which was a basic requirement for an assistant—not to be curious about any of the boss's private affairs.

"I'll give you a guarantee."

The clear sounds of keyboard clicks and gunshots on the other end of the phone made An Chi wonder, "What are they doing?"

"Playing video games."

No one expected that the famous eldest daughter of the Su family would be playing games in the office. She explained, "I don't usually play. Shang Jiuqi couldn't find anyone, and I just happened to have some free time, so I played a game."

The chuckle sounded particularly jarring in the two equally empty rooms. Su Yao heard it, and her expression suddenly turned sour. "You're laughing at me?"

“No,” he murmured, “it just seems kind of cute. What games do you want to play? I can play with you.”

"Let me reiterate, I didn't want to play. Shang Jiuqi couldn't find anyone else to play, so I reluctantly stepped in, okay? Normally, someone as strong as me almost never takes action."

Signals and messages kept popping up on the game screen, urging Su to quickly turn on her headphones and microphone. She remained silent, but was a little annoyed. She typed: "If you keep nagging me, I'm logging off. Do you know any novel CEOs who are very free? I'm busy too, okay?"

"What did you call for?" she asked proactively.

He lowered his eyelashes, looking at the "House Transfer Contract" written in black and white on the paper. "Why should I be given any protection?"

I want you to have a home.

Her heart skipped a beat, and her immediate response was undoubtedly the most truthful answer in her heart.

Indeed, in the eyes of outsiders, he is now a crow that has risen to prominence overnight, incomparable to a true dragon or phoenix, but he is still considered lucky.

Too much evil in the world arises from good fortune, so he naturally cannot go back to Anjia. Su Yao doesn't lack this house, so she can give it to him without any distractions, but he will only owe her more.

"Why does he seem like a kept man..." The boy was already eighteen years old and no longer an innocent child. He had thought this through before saying it.

However, how could Su Yao, after thirty years, not understand? "Why don't you want to be my sugar daddy? The number of men who want to be my sugar daddy could circle the earth from here."

"Too little." After saying this, An Chi hung up the phone, picked up a pen, and decisively signed his name on the last page without even looking at the contents of the contract.

Su Yao, who had just been hung up on, was still somewhat confused. Was it because the fee she offered was too low? Or were there simply not enough men who wanted to be her sugar daddy?
