wishing each other well

wishing each other well

Because of Ge Jin's matter, Su Yao vented his anger on Bai Lutong.

As autumn deepens, the rain becomes more frequent, and the feeling of looking down at all living beings from the floor-to-ceiling glass windows remains as desirable as ever.

The impending battle, known to everyone present, was about to erupt again. Su Yao had neither shares nor a seat, but instead, Su Wenxie was given one of the seats.

Someone wanted to curry favor with Su: "Come on, give Miss Su a seat. It would be a laughing stock if she came to the Su family and didn't have a seat."

"No need, Uncle. I actually find it quite nice to be standing here." Su smiled politely, speaking with a humble, bowed head.

Everyone present was a major shareholder on the board of directors, and they all had a good attitude towards Su Yao. After all, there weren't many chairmen like Su Yao who were always willing to bow down to them. Previously, there was a powerful person like Su Qingye in control, and later there was an arrogant person like Bai Lutong who controlled the situation. Compared to these two, Su Yao was like a savior to them. When he was in office, he treated them kindly, and no matter what they said to get them to invest, he would never let them lose money.

Before the man could exchange more pleasantries, Bai Lutong had already entered. In fact, even if Su Yao had shares, she rarely attended shareholder meetings like this. Overstepping her bounds shouldn't be in the hands of someone like her; there would always be gossip.

"Mr. Su, it's an honor to have you here." Bai Lutong's assistant pulled out a chair for him, and he sat down, his eyes fixed on Su Yao.

Su Yao could only smile wryly. She hadn't even brought Ge Jin to today's meeting. In fact, she shouldn't have even entered the meeting room. How could she participate in such a meeting without a certain share of the company?

It was Su Wenxie who gave her the opportunity to experience the joy of being someone else's assistant.

"Mr. Bai is joking. As Wenxie's assistant today, I would never dare to overstep my bounds and address myself as President Su."

Bai Lutong didn't want to chat with her about such mundane things anymore. To him, he had already done his best to accompany Su Yao in this "trouble" over the years, and Su Yao should obediently listen to him and stay with him for life. Clearly, she had only been with him all these years, so what reason did she have to be with those other men?

Everyone was in place. Today's meeting would still focus on whether Bai Lutong should continue in his position or step down.

From the moment Bai Lutong entered the room, Su Wenxie looked at him with eyes that seemed to want to tear him to pieces, but her older sister had already told her not to do anything reckless.

Su Yao ultimately did not sit down. Bai Lutong remained silent, and there was no need for anyone present to mention it. Bai Lutong had been waiting for Su Yao to make a request and speak to him voluntarily.

But Su Yao is not that kind of person. Since the ending was going to be a complete falling out, why pretend?

Tensions were high, and with just one sentence, "I respect everyone's decision," Bai Lutong had already exerted his pressure.

But Su Wenxie foolishly told everyone, "The Su family has always been surnamed Su."

He knew that this was not a suitable sentence to say in this situation, but Su insisted that he say it.

If you're going to be stupid, then be thoroughly stupid.

Elections may seem tense and nerve-wracking, but they're actually not that difficult to endure. It's just a matter of waiting for someone to say a few polite words and offer suggestions, and then indicating who you want to vote for.

Su Yao naturally understood without a doubt that Su Wenxie would win, while Bai Lutong seemed to still think that his conversation a few days ago would be effective.

For Su Yao, no one's contribution to the Su family's success today should be forgotten. No matter how much these uncles and elders talk nonsense but do nothing, as long as they invested money, they have made a contribution to the Su family.

The final election results shocked Bai Lutong, but he was still furious and warned everyone how much of a loss his departure would be. Su Yao couldn't help but laugh out loud, "President Bai, you are really too confident in yourself."

Bai Lutong adopted a wary demeanor, his eyes narrowing slightly and his brows furrowed.

Su wanted to imitate his previous actions, smoothing the brows of his face, looking down at him, slowly and deliberately, "After President Bai retires, you should pay more attention to your overseas businesses. Not all opportunism is so smooth sailing."

"Let's go, Wenxie. Thank you all for your great help to Wenxie today. Please take good care of this junior of ours in the future." Leading Su Wenxie out, Su Yao even bowed to express his gratitude, standing at the door without fear of letting everyone see his humble image.

Su Wenxie was completely bewildered the whole time. After getting into Su Yao's car at the end, he said, "Is it that easy?"

“It’s not that easy. We don’t know how much has been done behind the scenes by both sides. Bai Lutong came back from overseas, and after all these years, he still doesn’t understand that the rules in China are not based on who has the strongest ability to take office. Moreover, in a place like the Su family, which was struggling to survive before, nepotism is commonplace. He’s looking for someone to talk to, but I also look for someone to chat with.” Su Yao was in a good mood today, so he spent a few more minutes talking to Su Wenxie.

"Then... should we help that child An Chi?" In Su Wenxie's eyes, Su Yao's original intention was to help him regain control of the Su family.

Su thought for a moment and then said, "It's up to you."

"Look at me?"

"Well, you can help if you want, or not if you don't."

What does this mean?

"Literal meaning."

"Then I..."

As Su listened to the back-and-forth of these words, a look of fatigue appeared between his brows. Not wanting to dwell on these matters any longer, he interrupted him directly: "Su Wenxie, the main reason I took back the Su family business is because I can't stand Bai Lutong. Besides, you need a platform to hone your skills. Xu Yangming has already joined Zhiheng's management team, and you still know nothing about it. Are you really planning to just coast along for the rest of your life? As for An Chi, if he can't handle things well on his own, he will come to me on his own initiative. He also needs a platform where I won't interfere to showcase himself. I can't always be the teacher in front of him instructing him on how to do things."

"Understood, sis." Su Wenxie also became serious after hearing Su Yao's stern words and realizing that he had to learn to manage these things.

Actually, his resistance to studying stemmed from the Su family's preference for sons over daughters.

“Xiao Yao is too sharp-tongued. If Wen Xie had Xiao Yao’s abilities, I wouldn’t need to suppress her like this.” Su Qingye and Su Wensheng’s conversation reached Su Wenxie’s ears while he was playing hide-and-seek.

From a young age, he understood that his older sister's abilities were far beyond his reach. However, he had the Su family's genes, so he wouldn't be too bad. But they suppressed his sister because he was not as good as Su Yao. He hid in the closet and secretly wiped away his tears. From that moment on, he wanted to truly highlight his sister and completely expose his own inadequacy. Perhaps in this way, since he was hopeless, they would see that Su Yao was a promising talent.

However, to his surprise, Su Qingye's actions were not to care about Su Yao, but to spare no effort in cultivating him and even send him abroad to study for a few years.

He was determined to give up, so he didn't study seriously. He just made arrangements to graduate and return to China to continue being a spendthrift young master.

Now that Su Yao needs him, Su Wenxie has decided to study hard. At least he can't just shrug and do nothing like before. He looked at Su Yao driving and saw exhaustion in his eyes. He no longer wanted to think about whether his decision was right or wrong. He understood that Su Yao's scheming over the years had exhausted her.

After sending Su Wenxie back to her residence, Su Yao still needed to go back to the company to approve Ge Jin's resignation report.

I glanced at my phone just now and a message popped up in my email. It was from Ge Jin, and without even thinking, it was his resignation report.

She hurried back to the company. The first person to greet her was Bai Lutong, who was unwilling to give up and stopped her.

Before Bai Lutong could utter a word, Su seized the opportunity: "I will never be with you in this lifetime, don't you understand? Bai Lutong! I hate people like you who are just putting on airs! Get out! Anyone who lets Bai Lutong in again will be fired!"

She was furious to the point of roaring. She no longer cared about her image. She had been nice to him before only because he still held the reins of power in the Su family. But now, Su Ruo really didn't want to pretend anymore. Besides, she had a lot to do today and didn't have time to listen to his empty and pretentious nonsense.

I barged into Ge Jin's office. He was packing his belongings, and there were a few sheets of paper on his desk.

He looked at Su Yao, who was panting, with some surprise, and pointed to the paper on the table: "These are all very talented people. Choosing them as assistants would be a good idea."

"Is there really no way to turn back?" Su Yao's voice was slightly choked with emotion. She didn't answer his question, but instead tried to persuade him to stay.

Ge Jin paused in his tidying up, looked up at her, and said with a smile, "If you stay with me, I won't leave, how about that?"

When Su Yao heard his words, given his usual aversion to joking, she assumed he was serious and was about to speak cautiously when Ge Jin suddenly burst into hearty laughter: "Hahaha, just kidding, Su Yao, you're serious? I've even booked my plane tickets for my trip. I might come back when I'm broke from all the fun. You'd better make sure you have a good assistant position then."

In fact, Ge Jin was able to leave because Su Yao had treated him so well over the years. As long as he didn't spend too much, he could really live a life without working.

Before Su could speak, Tang Pai entered, tears welling in his eyes, and asked Ge Jin incredulously, "Are you really going to resign?"

"Why are you all asking me this? I really can't bear to do it." Ge Jin said, but his hands didn't stop moving.

Tang Pai lowered his head and said, "Thank you for teaching me that way back then."

"What's the big deal? You'll have your fill when you become the assistant to the chief executive officer." There was no trace of sadness on his face; in fact, he even had a smile on his face.

Tang Pai and Su Yao didn't say much, and saw him to the car. However, Tang Pai had something to do and left early, leaving only Su Yao and Ge Jin.

"Ge Jin, I'm sorry."

"What has President Su done to wrong me? Just remember to invite me to your wedding banquet." These words completely removed Ge Jin from Su Yao's list of suitors, seemingly acknowledging that Su Yao would not be with him. However, he did not complain or ask questions, but only silently withdrew with a sense of relief.

Su Yao didn't know how to respond, so she stepped forward and hugged Ge Jin: "I hope you can find someone who truly cares for you."

"You too." I'm not certain that anyone is the one who truly cares for you; I just wish you would meet someone who truly cares for you.
