Jiasan Road Police Station, suburban Beijing.
In the living room on the second floor, a little baby was sitting on the sofa with his chubby legs clearly layered, a lollipop in his mouth, staring intently at the cartoon playing on the TV in front of him.
The police officers passing by the window would, without exception, turn their heads to look at the baby, unable to control their auntie smiles. Some would even walk into the living room and put candies or something next to the baby.
The little baby was only about two and a half years old, white and chubby, with black and bright eyes and two high pigtails on his head. He watched and imitated the movements in the cartoon, twisting his body and giggling from time to time.
She was holding a rag doll in her left hand and a little stone tiger in her right hand. She had a leather bag hanging around her neck and a bow on her hair that looked like it was made of yellow paper. When you looked closely, you could see that the bow had a long, thin paper leg that stretched out quietly and stuck tightly to the baby's forehead.
The little baby is called Tiaotiao and is suspected to be a lost child.
When the police from the police station picked up Tiaotiao, she was under the overpass, telling fortunes with those old charlatans. Others asked for money, but she asked for lollipops.
The policeman thought Tiao Tiao was so cute that he waited there for a while. Unexpectedly, he found out that there was no adult around Tiao Tiao and he slept directly in the park next to the overpass at night.
The police judged that Tiaotiao was a baby who had lost his parents, so they took Tiaotiao back to the police station.
Tiaotiao soon became the darling of the police officers in the police station. Delicious and fun things were thrown to Tiaotiao for free.
Tiaotiao did not disappoint. I don’t know what her little belly is made of, but no matter how much delicious food was brought, Tiaotiao would eat it all up and would never let the uncles and aunts make a wasted trip.
Today is the fifth day that Tiaotiao has been eating and drinking for free in the police station. The director of the police station originally thought that someone would come to look for Tiaotiao soon, but there was no movement for several days in a row.
When asked about Tiao Tiao herself, she couldn't explain it clearly. She only knew that Tiao Tiao had a mother who would come to find Tiao Tiao.
But Tiao Tiao had no idea who her mother was, where she lived, where she worked, or what she looked like.
Today is the weekend, and the police station chief said that if no one comes to look for Tiao Tiao today, Tiao Tiao will be sent to an orphanage first.
As it was getting dark, as expected, no one came to pick up Tiaotiao. The director started calling the orphanage to introduce Tiaotiao's situation.
"What is Guaguayuan?"
A cartoon had just ended and Tiao Tiao stood up to move around when she heard the director say that he would send her to an orphanage. She curiously grabbed the doll next to her and asked.
An amazing thing happened, the rag doll came to life!
Its pair of pitch-black eyes suddenly became lively, and its mouth opened and closed, making a very small sound that only Jump could hear.
"An orphanage is a place that takes in orphans."
"Is Tiaotiao a little frog? Why do you want to send Tiaotiao to the Quacking House? Is the Quacking House fun?"
Tiaotiao obviously didn't understand the doll's explanation at all.
"It's not fun. The children there don't have enough food or clothes, and they get beaten by adults."
I don't know where the doll got the information, but it talks nonsense in a serious manner.
Tiaotiao's eyes widened, his little mouth opened in fear and couldn't close, and the flesh on his little face twitched.
"So what are we going to do?"
The pure newbie Tiaotiao humbly asks the half-baked rag doll Zhuzhu for advice.
Zhu Zhu wiggled his hips, feeling incredibly knowledgeable. "If we're caught by the orphanage, we won't be able to wait for Mama Tiao Tiao. Should we run away?"
"Kesu, the uncles and aunties at the pork rib shop treat Tiaotiao very well, why did they send Tiaotiao to the quack house?"
Because of what Zhu Zhu said, Tiao Tiao was very scared of the orphanage. He didn't understand why the uncle and aunt who liked Tiao Tiao so much wanted to send Tiao Tiao to the place where the little frogs lived.
"Of course it's because Tiaotiao and Pipi are such big eaters."
Zhu Zhu racked his brains to find a reason.
After all, Zhu Zhu is the smartest elf around Tiao Tiao. He can only and must be Tiao Tiao's little military advisor. No matter what the matter is, he must understand it.
Even if it really doesn’t understand...
We can’t let the little master find out that Zhu Zhu is actually just a confused kid.
Tiaotiao thought about how he had been wandering around the police station these past few days and had indeed eaten all the snacks hidden by the uncles and aunts.
What he couldn't eat, he gave to Pippi.
It seems that the uncles and aunts really can't afford to keep Tiaotiao, so they want to send Tiaotiao to harm the little frogs.
"Okay, let's run away!"
Tiaotiao didn't want to compete with the little frogs for insects, so he made up his mind to run away.
Tiaotiao turned around, stuck out his chubby little butt, and tried hard to jump off the sofa.
But Tiao Tiao's short legs were too short, and he couldn't touch the ground after several attempts.
Finally, Tiao Tiao made up his mind, jumped hard, and landed on the ground with a thud. Because his center of gravity was unstable, he almost fell on his back like a little turtle.
Fortunately, Tiao Tiao grabbed the sofa in time and did not fall down completely.
Spring cautiously walks to the door.
I saw the director standing not far from the door making a phone call. I knew this way was blocked, so I looked cautiously at the window on the other side.
The window was open. Although it was protected by iron grilles, Tiaotiao could squeeze out through any grille.
But the windowsill was one meter high, and Tiao Tiao was rather small, less than eighty centimeters tall. Even with his chubby little hands, he couldn't reach the windowsill.
Tiao Tiao stuck his head out, took a furtive look at the director, quietly moved a stool from the living room, and put it in front of the window sill with a laugh.
Then climb onto the sofa first, and then jump from the sofa to the stool.
Although it was a little thrilling, Tiao Tiao still managed to stand on the stool successfully.
Tiao Tiao used his hands and feet and was about to climb onto the windowsill when he suddenly remembered that there were still a few lollipops on the sofa that he had not finished eating. So he jumped down carefully and climbed onto the sofa to pick up those lollipops.
Then, Tiaotiao put the lollipop into his leather pocket, which is Pippi's mouth.
The leather bag also moved strangely, swaying back and forth like water waves, and soon returned to calm.
Tiao Tiao looked back at the living room reluctantly, climbed onto the windowsill, and stuck his little head out of the gap between the iron cages, trying to get out.
But Tiaotiao's belly was really a little oversized, and it got stuck in his belly several times when he tried to drill in.
Tiao Tiao was so anxious that he kicked his chubby legs like a little frog. After trying more than ten times, he finally succeeded in overcoming himself, passed through the window, and fell headfirst from the second floor.
It seemed that Tiaotiao was about to fall downstairs.
A mighty off-road vehicle sped out from the underground garage of the police station and just passed by the place where Tiao Tiao fell. Tiao Tiao landed on the roof of the off-road vehicle with a thud.
The police station chief was on the phone the whole time and didn't notice the little noise made by Tiao Tiao at all.
When the director finished communicating with the orphanage and came back, Tiao Tiao was nowhere to be found in the living room.
