Chapter 179 Facial Scar and White Mouse’s Strange Name
The morning light falls on the cave entrance, and the clear chirping of birds can be vaguely heard.
There was a rustling sound of footsteps on the leaves, and the dozing Vifiya opened her eyes.
Her eyes were calm, and she listened attentively to the sound and their distance.
"Damn it! Didn't they say they wouldn't catch us here?" The rough voice was panicked and annoyed.
"I can't guarantee that I won't be chased." Another voice was full of indifference.
"Are you looking for death? Damn white rat!"
"You know, I'm a mouse. Mice are only responsible for escaping, but they can't stop the pursuit."
The sounds outside sounded like a quarrel. Vifiya turned around and saw that the boy had woken up and was looking at her obediently.
She signaled him not to make any noise, and just wait for the people outside to leave.
Their conversation, whether he was a good person or not, was better for her and the boy to avoid.
"Where are we going now?" the gruff voice asked impatiently.
"Keep going."
Vifiya listened carefully to the sound of their footsteps gradually fading away. She waited for a while before tiptoeing towards the cave entrance.
She stuck her head out, and her little head swayed left and right in the sunlight.
A black shadow suddenly passed over her head, and "bang!" two adult men stood firm.
Vifiya stepped back subconsciously.
"There are actually people inside. I thought they were pursuers." The man with a rough voice turned around. He was as tall and strong as his voice. He took a few steps forward to block Vifia's way.
Vifiya suppressed her disordered breathing and calmly observed the spaces on both sides. No, not to mention that there was another person, even if she ran to the edge, she would be within the man's arms.
Unable to find a solution for the time being, Vifiya looked up at the man who was stopping her. His face was covered with a full beard, and the lower half of his face could not be seen. There was a scar across his entire face, and his face was covered with flesh.
Weifeiya felt that the man looked familiar and she stared at him without blinking.
The gaze was too intense to be ignored. The man lowered his head suspiciously and shouted, "What are you looking at? Be careful or I'll dig out your eyes!"
Only then did Vifiya look away.
"Kill them." The man grinned cruelly, his eyes falling behind the girl.
Vifiya turned around and saw the boy not far behind her.
"Wait, facial scar." The slender man who had not expressed his opinion stared at the girl.
Vifiya knew that he was watching her.
The white mouse stared at the girl, looking her up and down. Not to mention that her appearance was different from most people, it showed no fear when it saw the horrific scar on her face. She was clearly in their hands, but she didn't panic.
The clothes were made of ordinary cloth, but they were clean and showed no signs of having been used.
Including the boy behind her.
"If we don't kill them, are we going to keep them alive and provide clues to our pursuers?" Scarface said impatiently.
The white mouse sneered. It was smart at this time, but it was smart at the wrong time.
His smile was a contempt for him in Scarface's eyes. Veins bulged on his face. If he hadn't needed him on his way to escape from prison, he would have twisted the damn white rat's head off.
The white mouse knew what he was thinking. He pointed at Vifiya and said, "They are not like ordinary children."
Without further explanation, he said, "Take them with you. They have other uses."
He chuckled softly and taunted, "You don't want to try it yourself, do you?"
Anyway, even if the two children's identities are really extraordinary, it was all caused by the facial scars. What does it have to do with him being a white mouse?
He was halfway through his words when Scarface apparently thought of what he was saying. His expression softened slightly, and he grabbed Vifiya's hand and said fiercely to the boy, "Hey! Come here!"
The boy didn't move, his silver eyes invisible as he stared at the man holding the girl's hand tightly.
All the emotions she had spoken of faded away, and a strong stench emanated from the man, surrounding her and attacking him.
He had smelled a similar stench before, even before he met her. He knew that every time he smelled a similar stench, something strange would poke at him.
By sensing her heartbeat, he knew this time what the stench was called: malice.
A tide of malice surged, and the whole world became extremely cold. He could not see anything. He only saw her thread, which was repelling, and the malice of others, which was trying to pierce her.
He had smelled odors even more foul than the one he smelled now, but this time, perhaps because of her, the stench seemed to be filled with fine, dense silver needles, sharper than before.
The usually peaceful power in the body suddenly surged, clamoring for destruction.
He had seen how to bring someone down completely, just by chopping off their neck, just by breaking their neck. That was what the stench had done to him before, the stench coming from all directions, aiming for his neck and that place called his heart.
Vifiya stopped struggling. Her wrist was hurt by Scarface's grip. She was not strong enough to compete with an adult man. The most important thing now was to find a chance to let the boy run away first.
She turned her head, her expression paused, and his eyes returned to the same state as when she first saw them, starry eyes that would not be shaken by anything.
But... she frowned, feeling something was not right.
She observed the boy's condition, which was different from anything she had seen before.
My heartbeat is accelerating and my instincts are sounding the alarm.
Now Vifiya is very familiar with this situation, it is the feeling every time she helps the boy avoid harm.
And now, the source of danger is the boy himself.
Scarface was frightened by the boy's eyes. He realized that he was scared by a little brat. He was furious: "You cheap worm! Don't you understand what I'm saying? If you don't come over here..."
"Don't be mean to him!" Weifeiya suddenly broke her facial scar with a cold warning in her eyes.
She didn't care what the facial scar would do to her. Her intuition was buzzing in her head. She only knew that she had to interrupt the boy's state, so she hurried over.
"Isidore!"
The strange name blurted out of her mouth, not only the girl was stunned, but even the boy was stunned.
All the discomfort and the violent attempts to destroy faded away, and he heard her voice. She was anxious and seemed worried. Was it because of him?
The boy's gaze shifted to Vifiya's face. He blinked blankly and took a step towards her.
By the time Vifiya realized what was happening, the boy was only a little distance away from her.
It was too late to let him run away now. The rage of Scarface beside him was brewing. With her other hand that was not caught, Vifiya quickly pulled the boy behind her.
"Damn it! Who allowed you to interrupt me!" The man with the scar on his face looked like a tree struck by lightning, with his nostrils bulging out.
The palm, which was bigger than Vifiya's face and covered with hair, was raised high in anger of its owner.
Now she was being held too tightly by Scarface, and the other person, White Mouse, was also there. There was no space to push the boy away, and both of them would be hit.
In my peripheral vision, the boy's hands were gathering white light.
No, he couldn't reveal that he was a magician here.
She had learned from Debbie that he had not received any systematic training, so even if he was very sensitive to magic, he would not be able to use a specific type of magic.
Moreover, if he failed and exposed his identity as a magician, he would be in trouble if he was controlled by those two people.
In just a moment, she made the safest decision.
Vifiya did not hold the boy's hand that was using strength. She quickly turned her back to Scarface and pressed the boy's head on her shoulder.
The boy's eyes widened, the tiny light in his palm went out in an instant, the girl's breath lingered in his nose, and her silk thread couldn't help but cling to him because of his sudden movement.
Vifiya couldn't see his face, and the boy's ignorant silver eyes were filled with confusion.
Her body temperature seeped through the linen and hit his face. Waves of warmth seeped into his body and caressed his incomplete soul. Even if he didn't understand, he could feel a comfort from the inside out, an experience he had never had before. He couldn't help but rub it.
"Bang, bang, bang..." He could clearly hear her heartbeat, which was more vigorous and more lively than his.
He wanted this heart to keep beating like this, and he wanted to listen to her heartbeat, and keep listening to it.
Under the girl's body temperature, he suddenly remembered the name she said, Isidore. She called him Isidore.
Who is Isidore?
Not knowing what the boy was thinking in such a short time, Vifiya didn't even care whose name she said. She was betting that the scarred hand would not really hit them.
Since the white mouse said they were still useful, even if the man named Scarface insisted on killing them, the white mouse next to him would stop him.
"Okay, you're not going to kill them now, are you?" White Mouse grabbed Scarface's hand and warned impatiently, "If they're dead, I won't try it myself."
The scarred face that was originally expressing anger paused, and the flesh on his face twitched a few times. Obviously thinking of the consequences of what he said, the hand that was caught trembled, slowly clenched into a fist, and pulled it out unwillingly.
"You are lucky!" He shook off Vifiya's hand fiercely.
Vifiya steadied herself. Her wrist felt stinging. She took a look and saw purple bruises amidst the redness. She breathed a sigh of relief. It was much better than being beaten.
Although I don’t know what they have been emphasizing, it’s probably not a good thing, so I can only take it one step at a time.
She let go of the boy and glanced into the cave calmly. She didn't expect that the things Clover gave her would be abandoned on the first day. There was also a dagger in it. It was a good thing that it was not taken away now.
"Let's go." The white mouse looked at Vifiya deeply and walked forward.
Scarface pushed Vifia hard, his chaotic eyes gleaming with ill intent, telling them to follow the white mouse's lead.
Vifiya secretly observed the two people and the boy beside them.
Fortunately, the boy was well-behaved and did what he said. Otherwise, Vifiya was very sure that she would regret agreeing to be with him.
As for the two adult men, from the moment they appeared until now, she covered her eyes in thought and had already made a rough judgment.
