Chapter 36 She Lives to Kill She is the Sharpest Weapon

Chapter 36 She Lives to Kill She is the Sharpest Weapon

A thin mist had suddenly filled Hovyalin, and the Padica Palace stood in the middle of it, a combination of stucco and stone, the entire building in perfect symmetry.

The young knight had been stationed at the palace gate for a long time. He pursed his lips and gripped the sword at his waist, feeling indignant about the captain's night watch arrangement for nearly a month. However, he could not disobey the captain and could only accept it.

He stared straight ahead, and suddenly saw a figure emerging from the fog and walking towards him, and he immediately perked up.

The other knights on night watch also saw this and became alert.

The figures were getting closer and closer. The knights, smelling the blood, had drawn their swords and dared not relax.

The young knight with excellent eyesight saw the figure clearly in the mist. Although he had only seen this person once from a distance, he would not make a mistake and he put down his sword involuntarily.

The knight beside him noticed his movements and was about to shout, but he only heard him mutter to himself, "Princess Avrilite."

The sound was not loud, but it was loud enough for the other knights to hear, and everyone was stunned.

"What are you doing? Aren't you on guard?" the captain's voice came from behind. He hurried over, glanced at the knights, and slapped the young knight on the head with his palm: "On guard!"

The young knight staggered, and the dissatisfaction he had felt these days because of the captain's deliberate exclusion almost exploded, but reason told him not to do this. He stared at the captain angrily, and finally lowered his head and said nothing, with veins bulging in his hands.

He also does nothing.

The knight captain narrowed his eyes. What was more important than dealing with him was the people close to the palace. If anything went wrong, the king would definitely kill him.

He turned to look at the person who was coming. The person was getting closer and closer and his face could be seen clearly in the mist. His expression changed instantly.

The person came closer step by step without stopping. The knights held their swords tightly, but when she got close, they involuntarily made way for her.

She looked too horrifying, with fresh blood in her body, and unlike before, she came back alone.

The knight captain didn't dare get too close to her, secretly cursing her as a monster in his heart, but he still looked respectful. He bent down and said carefully, "Your Highness, you are back. I will report to His Majesty the King right away."

"No need." Avril said calmly and walked straight inside.

The knight captain hesitated for a moment and thought quickly in his mind that if he let her go in like this, the king would punish her even if he didn't kill her.

As soon as he took a step forward, Avril instantly drew the sword from his waist and spun it around to put it against his neck.

The knight captain couldn't help but shiver, his neck ached, and a warm feeling flowed down.

"No need," she said again, not even looking at him.

"Yes... yes..." the captain replied quickly.

"Clang!" She threw the sword to the ground. Of course, she couldn't let them report it. How could she give the king and the crown prince a surprise?

The captain watched her movements, looking up in shock at her receding figure, his body trembling slightly as a strong sense of humiliation surged in his heart.

This monster must have done it on purpose!

Throwing down a knight's sword is an insult to the knight.

Avrilte raised her eyes. She did it on purpose. She saw him bullying the knight from a distance, and she happened to remember the knight.

She had only seen him once, and his gaze was too direct for her to ignore. He probably thought she couldn't see him from the distance.

He was the only knight so far who looked at her with pure admiration.

She didn't mind helping him vent his anger.

She cleverly avoided all the patrols in the palace and simply stood in front of the Crown Prince's bedroom.

The dozing knights were startled and hurriedly tried to draw their swords, but Avril had already approached them and pressed their swords with both hands. "Don't bother yourself. I just want to ask the Crown Prince something."

She quickly walked inside, and the knight followed behind her: "Your Highness! You cannot go in. His Highness the Crown Prince is resting."

She was clearly walking, but her speed was so fast that the knights felt they could not catch up.

She stood in front of the door of the Crown Prince's bedroom, without moving, and turned her head slightly. Avulite had a blank expression on her face, but at this moment she was full of hostility.

The knights suddenly stopped, hesitating whether to move forward.

While they were still trying to stop her, Avril opened the door, went in, and locked it.

Without hesitation, she strode forward and brushed off the crown prince's quilt.

"Pa!" She slapped him.

The Crown Prince woke up instantly: "Who!"

The red-haired woman beside him was also woken up and muttered, "Ferdin?"

In their sleepy state, the two men saw a man covered in blood standing in front of them in the dim light.

The two of them woke up instantly. The red-haired woman hugged Ferdin tightly in fear. He shouted in horror: "Witch! Knight? Where are the knights!"

Ai Wuli Te's eyes were indifferent. She said, "Your Highness, are you dreaming?"

Ferdin heard the voice clearly and shouted in disbelief: "Aiwulite? Why are you here! Shouldn't you be at the Shegri border?"

His face was burning with pain: "How dare you hit me?"

He pushed the red-haired woman away, stood up angrily and wanted to attack her, but Avril's current appearance frightened him a little, and he could probably guess why she came here.

Seeing this, the red-haired woman trembled and said, "Your Highness... Your Highness, I will go and call the knight over."

After saying that, he grabbed a shawl and put it on himself and ran towards the door.

Avril didn't stop her, and Ferdin didn't look at her.

"They are all dead, you know." Avril said. The people who fought alongside her should not have died. The only thing she could think of was that Ferdin and the king were interfering.

Ferdin looked puzzled. "Who?" He paused, then said with a look of understanding and indifference, "Oh, you mean them? They're just useless civilians. If they die, they die."

He stared into her eyes playfully and said in a joking tone, "As long as you're alive, that's all that matters."

"Bang!" Aulite grabbed Ferdin's right wrist and turned him over, deliberately making the other half of his face that was not hit by her slap hit the stone wall hard.

He grimaced in pain, but even with his hands on the wall, he still couldn't match her strength. He struggled and gritted his teeth, "Avril, what are you crazy about?"

"Your Highness!" The voice of the red-haired woman was heard, followed by the sound of mixed footsteps. Seeing this scene in the bedroom, everyone didn't know what to do for a moment. The knights were also worried that seeing such an embarrassing side of His Highness the Crown Prince, they would be angry and punished.

Ferdin's face flushed red. Rather than the pain on his face, he wanted to tear that rotten bug Aulite to pieces!

He shouted angrily, "Everyone get out!"

The red-haired woman and the knights hesitated for a while, but they could not disobey him, so they had to obey Ferdin's order and go out.

Ferdin gasped, and said with disdain and anger, "They are just a bunch of worthless lives. You are worthless too! That's why you care about them so much."

"Sure enough, I was born worse than a commoner."

Avril remained indifferent, which only made him feel ashamed.

"Hmph!" He chuckled. "You're just like your slave mother. Even after becoming a noble, you can't change your inherent lowliness!"

Avril tightened her grip slightly, realizing that Ferdin had provoked her and was laughing wildly. He was about to speak when she grabbed his hair and slammed his head against the wall.

"Bang!"

His hair was pulled back, and Avril pressed her knees firmly against his waist. She stared into his eyes and spoke slowly, "You're in such a mess."

Ferdin suddenly became furious, struggling to think of how to provoke her. He grinned maliciously: "The night before you were taken away for reform, your slave mother came to see me. Guess why she came to see me? She..."

"Avrilite."

Avril had never heard that her mother had ever looked for the crown prince. She was listening carefully, but was suddenly interrupted at the critical moment. She didn't make any special reaction, but turned around.

It was Sohai François, the only prince of Iskandar and the king's younger brother.

Suo Hai stared at her hand and said, "You have crossed the line. His Majesty wants to see you. Go."

Avril loosened her grip on Ferdin. To her, Sohai was neither a bad nor a good person, but he had helped her before. Just for this reason, she was unwilling to make things difficult for him in today's matter.

Moreover, her goals have been achieved.

Ferdin turned around and was about to attack. Seeing this, Suo Hai warned, "Your Highness the Crown Prince."

Ferdin angrily withdrew his hand and watched her leave unharmed. He took another step forward.

Before leaving the dormitory, Avril glanced back at him and said lightly, "You'd better look in the mirror."

Ferdin paused, turned around and looked at himself in the mirror. His cheeks were red and swollen, and his forehead was bruised. He was shaking with anger, his chest heaving, and his face twitching unconsciously, but the pain on his face was reflected in his whole face: "Avril!"

Suo Hai was silent all the way, and Avril did not speak.

They walked through corridors and palaces, and finally entered the reception room of the king's bedroom.

Until they were nearing their destination, in an empty corridor, Sohai suddenly stopped and turned to look at Avril.

She seldom came back, and few people had seen her, but the people of Iscana had all heard of her name, and nobles of all kinds knew of her existence.

After the age of ten, she lived to kill.

Suo Hai didn't know what she had lost or what price she had paid, but he knew the fate of the girl in front of him. When there were basically no monster invasions on the border, she would become Iskanah's sharpest weapon to invade other countries.

Finally, he died on the battlefield.

He looked her up and down, and for the first time in a long time, he sighed in his heart. She was defending Iscana with her life.

"I'll send the court doctor over after this." He said and walked forward without waiting for Avrilite's response.

There were no knights guarding the entrance to the reception room, so Sohai only let her in, following the king's previous instructions.

Avril stepped forward, bowed her head and half-knelt: "Your Majesty."

The king examined her without letting her get up. "I heard you went to the Crown Prince's chambers?"

"yes."

The king leaned against the backrest, not paying attention to the blood all over her body, and asked slowly: "Why are you back?"

She explained, "All the border bone beasts have been killed."

"Hmm." The king looked at the wounds all over her body with disdain on his face. "Just a few monsters. I'll double the training starting tomorrow."

"yes."

"The soldiers will regroup and bring them over next time."

"Yes." Avril remained calm and expression did not change at all. It was indeed the king who did this.

He was warning her about her public rejection of the marriage proposal at the last banquet.

"You also hit the Crown Prince?"

Hearing this, Avril finally raised her head, her face calm: "Your Majesty, are you going to kill me?"

Insulting the crown prince is a capital crime, but she knows the king cannot kill her.

It’s not that I don’t want to, or that I can’t, but that I can’t.

The king sat up straight, stroked his beard, and put down his hand: "Aulite François, it is I who gave you this surname and all your honors."

She didn't speak.

The king didn't care and continued, "You are not allowed to leave Maan Palace until the next time you leave for the border."

After saying this, the king touched the blue gemstone necklace around his neck, and Avril's gaze paused briefly.

"Yes." She knew that this was the king's punishment for her and also her imprisonment.

This country is rotten.

——

After returning to Maan Palace, Avril nodded to Eva who had already arrived, took back the badge, and went straight to the bedroom.

Almost there.

She was standing at the window when a carrier pigeon came over, flapping its wings.

She opened the letter and found only four words:

It’s a pleasure to work with you.
