Chapter 9 Relationship Easing Magic is a Good Thing...
Arnold and the Knights broke open the gate.
What he saw were broken tables and chairs, and people scattered in a mess. He tried to find the figure he had seen before in the crowd.
In fact, Arnold didn't quite understand why he came here.
He just happened to pass by after dinner and happened to see the Knights coming to reinforce the auditorium. Tonight was the dinner party for the freshmen in the auditorium, and what a coincidence, he remembered the noble lady he had helped today.
He was not a nosy person. He helped her in the morning only because he was walking in the garden and suddenly someone fell towards him. He subconsciously caught the person and couldn't let go. Or maybe it was in his dream that he seemed to have seen a similar face. He was confused for a moment and helped send the person to the infirmary.
He had heard that noble ladies were very fragile, especially those of great nobility like them.
With this in mind, he had already started walking towards the auditorium.
When he came to his senses, he was already standing in front of the auditorium. Now that he was here, there was no reason to turn back.
The academy stipulates that the top three students in each knight education class are eligible to participate in the actual combat of the Knights in advance.
He got involved smoothly, and although it was a little tricky to open the door, he finally opened it.
But what about that young lady? She was protected by the crowd. She was a noble, after all.
"Dean!"
Arnold's attention was drawn to the fact that the person who spoke had eyebrows and features very similar to that of the young lady.
Stellan walked quickly to the dean, his usually smiling face filled with frost and anger. He interrupted the conversation between the dean and the leader of the Knights: "Dean, I hope that Alsain Academy will cooperate with the Marquis of Kesley's House to investigate this matter and make every effort to search for and rescue Vifia..." Thinking of the students who disappeared with Vifia, aristocratic etiquette made him change his words, "Make every effort to search and rescue the missing students."
"No!" Osa came over quickly. Even though she was anxious, her eyes remained calm and resolute. She turned and looked at Stellan, confirming his intentions. She said, "The Duke of Dordo and the Marquis of Kesley will jointly investigate this matter. The academy must fully cooperate with the investigation and search and rescue efforts. We will submit a report to the royal family on everything that has happened."
Ferik stood behind Osa, representing the attitude of the Duke's Mansion of Duodu.
A monster appeared at the freshman dinner. The Duke's daughter, who was of royal blood, was the main target of attack. The daughter of the Marquis of Casely, one of the three founding families of the empire, disappeared.
Even if Stellan is not the heir to the Marquisate, and even if Osa and Ferik have not confirmed who the heir is, they have the power to make decisions on behalf of the family in such a situation.
This was their first education, something the family would teach every noble child equally.
The dean knew they were fully responsible for this matter, and he didn't try to shirk responsibility: "We are deeply sorry that this happened. We will fully cooperate with you."
Although he always emphasized in the academy that everyone is equal in education, in other aspects, the nobles are still nobles and the commoners are still commoners.
The dean knew very well that the nobles would do their best to search and rescue the Marquise. As for Isidore, who came from a declining noble family, their college would need to focus on searching and rescuing him.
Arnold walked around the auditorium and easily pieced together a conclusion from the few words of the students present: no one died, but the life and death of Miss Vifia Casely and Isidore Leppezer from the Marquis of Casely were unknown.
Arnold just felt that this noble lady was just a little unlucky.
The students in the auditorium were gradually settled down. In a corner where no one paid attention, a student had a dazed look in his eyes and was almost crazy.
He was wrong. He shouldn't have promised the Grand Magician so solemnly that he would take good care of Isidore. He even used his own name - Kaharun Aiken - to make the promise.
After being depressed for a few seconds, he stood up and followed the crowd out of the auditorium. The magician had his own search and rescue methods.
Ulucia Atesaki Mountains
Isidore's hands were wrapped in magic, and only a ferocious squeaking sound was heard. Without looking back, he swung the ice blade in the direction of the sound.
He was anxious and became more aggressive in dealing with the Moonlight Mouse.
I had already met her, but we were still separated.
The moment Isidore saw the amber, he knew this was the Atesaki Mountains of Ulucia, where he had fled as a child.
The real killer of the Atesaki Mountains isn't the monsters, but the swamps that can be found everywhere. The swamps in the mountains are full of uncertainty, and they are the only swamps in the world with such uncertainty.
Humans who fall into the swamp will either be lucky enough to be teleported to other swamp areas in this world, or be killed by monsters lurking deep in the swamp, or suffocate to death in the swamp.
But teleporting to another swamp area might also lead to hell.
In the past, there were always people who came here because they didn't believe in evil, but most of them died in the swamp. Until now, only desperadoes and adventurers who are looking for adventure and excitement appear here.
Isidore cast tracking magic from time to time, but each time he couldn't find Vifiya's trace, as if she was blocked by something. The only time she appeared was only a fleeting moment, but that was enough for Isidore.
He had selfish motives. He placed a small tracking magic on the small cloth bag he gave to Vifiya. He didn't want to lose contact with her again, just like before.
The chain golem disappeared with Vifiya, and he was worried that the chain golem would be teleported together with Vifiya.
Thinking of this, he couldn't help but feel suffocated. Would she be hurt? Would he be too late when he arrived?
For a moment the air seemed to be sucked out, and Isidore quickened his pace.
He became more and more impatient, and the magic power he controlled became more and more precise, hitting the monster's fatal point with every hit.
The wind from his rapid movement whistled in his ears. When he reached the location indicated by the tracking magic, he couldn't help but speak: "Vefiya."
After turning a corner, I met Vifiya's eyes.
Before he could even approach her, he heard her say in surprise, "Isidore?"
Hearing her call his name, he seemed to be able to breathe again for a moment, and his heart finally settled down. Isidore's eyes lit up, a smile on his lips, and he walked forward quickly: "It's me."
When he got closer, he found that Vifiya was in a bit of a mess, with mud on her face. Her smile faded, and her silver eyes were full of worry. But when he saw the necklace around her neck, the surprise in her eyes disappeared in an instant.
Isidore felt his heart beating so hard, just as fast as when he saw her again in the garden, that it seemed as if it would jump out of his chest.
It was a necklace that he and she had treasured when they met before.
The pendant is very similar to the ubiquitous frost ore. The silver chain is slightly more refined, but the whole necklace is still relatively simple.
He hadn't seen her wearing the necklace in the garden, but he just knew it was her.
Do you remember?
Isidore held back the words that were about to come out of his mouth and asked, "Are you hurt?"
Vifiya shook her head: "It's okay, just a scratch."
"Where are you hurt?" Hearing this, Isidore subconsciously reached out to check her injuries.
Vifiya instinctively avoided his movement, and his hand just stopped in mid-air.
Isidore was stunned, his lips pursed, not daring to look into Vifia's eyes. He withdrew his hand and said softly, "I'm sorry."
Vifiya observed him and easily noticed his mood changes. She opened her mouth slightly and said, "Thank you for the candy! It was very useful."
As soon as he finished speaking, Isidore looked up, his eyes filled with surprise: "I'm glad that I can help you."
But he still felt a little lost, and his heart felt more and more uncomfortable. He suddenly wanted to ask her if she remembered him.
But she looked so strange and distant to him.
She doesn't remember him.
Isidore knew this fact better than anyone else. He was just hoping that she would suddenly remember and hug him with a smile like she used to.
Kaharun said that ladies would feel offended by the inexplicable advances from strange men.
Would she be offended? He couldn't offend her.
Seeing that he was disappointed at first, Vifiya changed the subject and thanked him. She should thank him for this matter.
She was about to speak when she heard Isidore apologize to her again: "I'm sorry, Vifia, I just wanted to see your injury. Although I'm not good at healing magic, I still want to take a look."
Vifiya was stunned. She didn't expect Isidore to reveal the fact that he was a magician so easily.
Realizing this was an opportunity, she quickly adjusted her mood, as if she was seeing a magician for the first time, and asked in surprise, "Are you a magician?"
Isidore met her gaze, his crimson eyes clear and full of curiosity.
She spoke again: "But I heard that the identity of a magician is not easily known to others. Is it okay to tell me this?"
When Isidore heard this, he felt that she was concerned about him, and his eyes curved slightly: "It doesn't matter, it's you, so it doesn't matter."
It was originally a very ambiguous statement, but Isidore's eyes were unusually calm.
Vifiya looked into his eyes and was speechless for a moment. She asked tentatively, "If I'm interested in magic, can I ask you something?"
Isidore's silver eyes shone brightly in the cave. "Of course." He hesitated, then said, "Vifiya, can I see your injury?"
Seeing that he was so persistent, Vifiya couldn't refuse anymore. She stretched out her hand, which had scratches on it.
Isidore stopped talking, his face became serious, and he placed his hand over hers. A gentle magic power was injected into Vifia's palm, which was very warm.
Vifia admitted that she was just pretending and that magic was really a good thing. She apologized to Isidore.
With the idea of rubbing some magic, she also showed the scratches she had made in the auditorium.
Isidore frowned and said, "There is connection magic on the wound."
Seeing Vifia's surprise, he explained while treating her, "Connection magic is also called sharing magic. You are here because you shared the Chain Golem's teleportation array. I will help you erase it now."
Vifiya had guessed that the chain golem's target was her, and it was obvious.
She was not seriously injured when she came here. After the chain golem arrived here, it stopped moving, as if it was guiding her, or more like it was just to let her get the necklace, a necklace from another world given to her by her brother.
Isidore looked directly into her eyes. "I'll help investigate this as well. Are you injured anywhere else?"
Vifiya lifted the hem of her skirt, revealing her white calves, with the scars on her knees particularly obvious.
But Isidore quickly closed her skirt, and his hands were still closing it. The back of his neck, which Vifiya could not see, was red.
"Huh?" Vifiya was confused. She thought about whether women in this world were not allowed to show their calves. She concluded that in this world, women were allowed to show their calves.
Isidore also realized his strong reaction and patted her skirt stiffly: "Dirty... dirty."
After dusting off, she said somewhat helplessly: "Can you... flirt with me again?"
Vifiya looked at him, lifted her skirt again, and soon the scars on her body disappeared.
After thanking him, Vifiya suggested that they should go back.
Isidore nodded: "We really can't stay here for long. I know how to get back."
