Chapter 62 Zhu Jin Cried
A faint scent of cedar filled the room.
Before Shen Shuangmiao even opened her eyes, she smelled that familiar scent.
She struggled to open her eyes, her gaze lingering for a moment before finally refocusing.
When Shen Shuangmiao saw the familiar chandelier on the ceiling, her heart sank, and she was completely awakened.
This is not a hospital.
After Zhu Jin took her away, he actually brought her back to the villa where she had lived for two years before fleeing.
Memories flooded my mind.
Shen Shuangmiao recalled that she was taken away by Zhu Jin in the hospital, and the last thing she remembered was Zhu Jin's cold and piercing eyes hidden in the shadows.
She's back.
Like a canary that has been caught and put back in its cage.
Shen Shuangmiao hugged herself helplessly, not knowing what awaited her.
But she never expected that Zhu Jin would be so angry when he found out the child had been aborted...
Just then, there was a soft knock on the door, and sounds came from outside.
"Madam, are you awake?"
Shen Shuangmiao bit her lip and remained silent, but a maid still came in carrying a tray.
The above are some exquisite and nutritious porridge dishes and side dishes.
"Madam, please order some food. You are weak and haven't eaten much in the hospital since you just had surgery."
Upon hearing this, Shen Shuangmiao, disregarding her weak condition, forced herself to sit up abruptly, feeling inexplicably uncomfortable.
She stared intently at the other person, her voice trembling slightly.
"Where is Zhu Jin? I need to see him."
The servant carrying the meal put it down without a change in tone.
"The master is not home."
"When will he be back?" Shen Shuangmiao pressed.
"I don't know."
"Where is my phone? Let me make a call."
"I'm sorry, Madam, but the master instructed that you should get some rest."
No matter what Shen Shuangmiao wanted or said, she always deflected it with a simple "I don't know" or "I'm not sure".
It was as if they wouldn't say a single word to Shen Shuangmiao except for what Zhu Jin had instructed them to do.
Shen Shuangmiao slowly exhaled, desperately trying to calm herself down.
She stared intently at the other person.
"Did Zhu Jin instruct everyone to answer 'I don't know' or 'I'm not sure' to all the questions asked of him?"
The maid simply looked at her quietly, responding to her with silence.
Shen Shuangmiao pursed her lips and said nothing.
The maid glanced out the window.
"The windows have been sealed off, and we will lock the door from the outside. Your movement will be limited to this bedroom and the attached bathroom. Don't worry, madam, we will take good care of any health problems you may have, and the family doctor will come every three hours."
"Please be patient and don't rush. Taking good care of your health is the most important thing."
After saying that, the maid turned and left, not even noticing Shen Shuangmiao's reaction.
Shen Shuangmiao could only watch her leave, her lips pressed tightly together, a sense of despair in her eyes.
She knew that Zhu Jin was completely angry.
He was using this seemingly gentlest method to trap her tightly in this gilded cage, just as he had done before, to exact his revenge on her.
She is now trapped here, without a cell phone or any means of contacting the outside world, and has no way to leave.
The next three days.
Food and water delivery, doctor's check-ups, all around the clock.
Everyone was taking meticulous care of her, yet no one would let her leave.
Zhu Jin did not appear for three days.
In these three days, Shen Shuangmiao went from trying every means to persuade the servants to let her leave, to trying to get her phone back, to finally giving up the struggle.
The studio is currently in the handover phase and can't be sold.
We don't know the situation with the studio over there yet.
Fu Xuan probably already guessed that she had been taken away by Zhu Jin, and now he is very worried about her and is looking for her.
She wasn't worried that Fu Xuan would act rashly, but she was afraid that if Fu Xuan approached Zhu Jin, Zhu Jin would target him.
Shen Shuangmiao found it increasingly troublesome.
We can't just sit here and wait to die, or everything will be over.
The studio can't be sold now, and all our efforts have been in vain.
Fortunately, she still had some savings. Even if she didn't open the studio after leaving, and even if she didn't get the money from the studio, she could just leave and never come back.
To disappear completely from Zhu Jin's sight is the only thing she wants right now.
Shen Shuangmiao slowly exhaled. She looked at the moonlight outside and listened to the sounds outside the door.
Only the light at the end of the corridor was still shining through the crack in the door.
There was no one moving around outside.
Shen Shuangmiao has already observed it.
For the next three days, no one came over after 10 p.m. each night.
Shen Shuangmiao slowly sat up and took out a plastic hair clip from the lining of her pajama belt.
Even though no one really paid attention to her during this time, she was still able to get some tools.
Shen Shuangmiao had previously researched online how to open the door lock.
For a period of time, Zhu Jin not only didn't come back, but when he did, he wouldn't let her into the study.
She didn't know why Zhu Jin sometimes ignored her when he came back. So she devised this plan to sneak in and spend time with Zhu Jin.
Shen Shuang had a clever idea: could she escape this way?
She carefully took the cold tip of the hairpin, inserted it into the door lock, and turned it left and right several times.
With a snap, the door lock popped open.
Shen Shuangmiao breathed a sigh of relief, then was both surprised and delighted, not expecting that she could actually try to open the door lock.
She held her breath, slowly opened the door, her tense body relaxed, and turned to leave.
Shen Shuangmiao slipped out of the room barefoot.
The corridor was empty. She knew every inch of the layout well, avoided all obstacles that might make noise, and made her way towards the stairwell.
Shen Shuangmiao's heart was beating faster and faster, as if she could smell the scent of freedom.
She just wanted to leave this place as soon as possible and never have any contact with Zhu Jin again.
But when she left, she had to pass through the study door.
Shen Shuangmiao was surprised. She had just turned the corner when she saw that the study door was ajar.
The maid clearly said that Zhu Jin was not home and would not be coming back.
In the past two years, Shen Shuangmiao has rarely seen Zhu Jin return.
Therefore, she believed these words without hesitation.
But she didn't expect Zhu Jin to be here.
Shen Shuangmiao's feet seemed to be nailed to the spot.
She bit her lip, instinctively wanting to quicken her pace, but was involuntarily drawn to the crack in the doorway.
Through the crack, she saw Zhu Jin sitting behind the large desk, with a reading lamp on.
He was enveloped in a dim halo of light.
Zhu Jin placed one hand on the table, his fingers digging deep into his thick black hair, while his other hand tightly gripped a piece of paper.
The room was very quiet, and it was quiet outside as well.
Shen Shuangmiao could clearly hear a sob escape Zhu Jin's throat.
She froze, her eyes widening in disbelief. She saw Zhu Jin's broad shoulders trembling slightly, and a tear seemed to fall from his eye, landing on his arm through the reading light.
Shen Shuangmiao felt a sudden, inexplicable pang in her heart.
Is he crying because of the child?
