Chapter 125 There's No Way to Escape

Chapter 125 There's No Way to Escape

Zhu Jin walked to the French windows, gazing at the boundless blue sea outside, his tone carrying a hint of mockery:

"Grandma Su, what are you saying? I don't understand. How would I know where Chen Shuangmiao went?"

"Stop playing dumb with me!" Old Madam Su said sternly. "I know you did it! What do you want from me?"

A smile appeared on Zhu Jin's lips.

"I don't want anything, I just want to be with her, forever."

He paused, then his tone became resolute and brooked no argument, "I will not return her. Don't bother looking for her anymore. I will never let her go."

After saying that, Zhu Jin gave Madam Su no further chance to speak, cut off the call, and turned off the satellite phone.

at the same time.

Downtown, studio.

Zhao Mobai suddenly grabbed Fu Xuan's arm, his voice hoarse.

"A helicopter! Rent a helicopter! I know the general direction! I'll go find her, I must find her!"

Fu Xuan held him back tightly, his face full of helplessness: "Calm down! That's international waters, a private island. Without precise coordinates and permission, we can't find it at all! Unauthorized intrusion could even cause international disputes. We can only wait now, wait for news from Madam Su's connections!"

Zhao Mobai suddenly shoved him away and slammed his fist into the wall with a dull thud.

"When will they wait?! Until they have children already?"

He took a deep breath, feeling an overwhelming sense of powerlessness.

He knew that what Fu Xuan said was true.

Faced with Zhu Jin's overwhelming strength, his anger and struggle seemed even more pale and laughable.

He could only watch helplessly as his beloved woman was taken away by that madman and imprisoned in some corner he could never reach.

This realization is a thousand times more painful than killing him.

Zhao Mobai took a deep breath.

"I'll think of a way."

Next, he used every available resource, even setting aside his dignity to beg those long-estranged family friends.

But all he received were vague excuses and a sense of helplessness.

Zhu Jin had clearly already taken care of everything, completely isolating his location from the world.

The connections of Madam Su are also being worked out with difficulty, but since it involves private islands overseas, progress is so slow it's almost despairing.

Fu Xuan could only desperately stop Zhao Mobai from recklessly venturing into international waters to search, as that would be like looking for a needle in a haystack and would only drag himself down with him.

Time ticked by, and every moment was agonizing.

...

On the island.

It got dark.

Shen Shuangmiao hadn't eaten anything.

The exquisite meal that Zhu Jin delivered on time was knocked over on the ground without her even glancing at it.

She curled up in the corner of the bedroom, expressing her strongest protest through silence.

"Eat a little."

Zhu Jin brought in the freshly made, fragrant seafood porridge for the third time.

He carried a hint of pleading that was barely perceptible.

Shen Shuangmiao buried her head deeper into her knees, remaining silent as she swept away the bowl of scalding hot porridge.

Seafood porridge splattered on his trouser leg. Zhu Jin looked at the stain on his trouser leg, then at the stubborn figure in the corner, and his eyes darkened.

He didn't react; he simply cleaned up again silently and left.

Night fell completely.

The nights on the island are exceptionally peaceful.

Exhausted, Shen Shuang leaned against the wall in a daze.

Suddenly, a slight sound came from the door lock.

Zhu Jin came in.

Shen Shuangmiao suddenly woke up and saw Zhu Jin's tall figure walk in, carrying a first-aid kit.

"go out!"

She shouted sharply, her voice weak.

Zhu Jin ignored him, walked straight to the bedside and sat down, patting the spot next to him.

He said calmly, "Come here and go to sleep."

"Don't even think about it!"

Shen Shuangmiao grabbed a pillow from the side and threw it at him.

Zhu Jin easily caught the pillow, put it aside, and then stood up and walked towards her.

Shen Shuangmiao shrank back like a startled rabbit, her eyes filled with fear and disgust.

"Don't come any closer! Get away!"

Zhu Jin didn't stop walking and reached out to pick her up.

"Let me go, you bastard! You lunatic!"

Shen Shuangmiao struggled desperately, kicking and punching him with her hands and feet. In desperation, she bit his arm.

She used great force, and a bloody taste instantly filled her mouth.

Zhu Jin grunted, his arm muscles tensing instantly.

But he didn't let go; instead, he tightened his embrace, holding her tightly in his arms.

He looked down at the teeth marks on his arm, which were bleeding, his eyes dark, as he held Shen Shuangmiao in his arms.

Shen Shuangmiao struggled and cursed incessantly, but to no avail.

Zhu Jin walked to the bedside, placed her on the bed, and lay down himself, hugging her tightly from behind, letting her fingernails scratch bloody marks on his chest.

"Go ahead and hit me, bite me."

He smiled and said, "If you think this will make you feel better."

Exhausted, Shen Shuangmiao was panting heavily, tears mixed with sweat, wetting the corners of her eyes.

Zhu Jin spoke again: "You can continue your hunger strike, continue your tantrums, but if you starve to death, or cause yourself any permanent damage..."

He paused.

“I guarantee that Zhao Mobai will go bankrupt immediately and never recover. Fu Xuan’s parents are old and in poor health and cannot withstand any stress. And what about your studio and the employees who work for you? Do you want them all to be buried with you?”

Shen Shuangmiao froze instantly.

He used the people around her and everything she cared about to force her to submit.

"Despicable, shameless!" she spat out through gritted teeth, her body trembling.

"Yes, I'm despicable." Zhu Jin admitted frankly, tightening his grip on her as if he wanted to crush her.

"So you have to listen to me and not push me to do anything more drastic."

Shen Shuangmiao closed her eyes, and hot tears silently streamed down her face.

She lost, she lost miserably.

She could disregard her own safety, but she couldn't drag Zhao Mobai down, couldn't implicate Fu Xuan and his family, and couldn't harm the employees who trusted her and depended on her studio for their livelihood.

She stopped struggling and lay stiffly in his arms like a soulless puppet.

Sensing her submission, Zhu Jin's tense body relaxed somewhat.

He carried her to the open-air balcony that connected to the bedroom.

The view here is superb; looking up, you see a dazzling, boundless starry sky, with the Milky Way stretching across the heavens—a breathtaking sight.

"Look, the stars here are much brighter than in the city."

Zhu Jin's voice rang in her ears, tinged with a hint of hazy recollection.

"Just like what we saw when we secretly climbed to the top of the lab building back in college."

He ignored her silence and continued talking to himself.

“I went back to our university, walked the paths we used to take, went to the little hill you loved to go to, and to that confession wall.”

His voice was low and deep, as if he were telling a story that had nothing to do with him, yet it carried an indescribable pain.

"I still remember the first time I held your hand on the hillside, you blushed so much..."

As Shen Shuangmiao listened to his words and looked at the unfamiliar starry sky before her, her memories were inappropriately pulled back to the distant past.

Those beautiful, pure moments flooded my mind.
