Chapter 8, Anonymous Message

Chapter 8, Anonymous Message

"Purpose? What purpose could I possibly have? I just wanted to catch up with Teacher Wen."

"It's a pity you gave him seven years of your youth, and in the end..."

Wen Hanyun coldly interrupted her, "If there's nothing else, Xie Xiaoyu, you shouldn't take up the teacher's rest time."

"Heh," Xie Xiaoyu chuckled, "Oh, by the way, would Teacher Wen be interested in the concert at the Xinghe Theater tomorrow night? It's my first performance since returning to China, and A Zhe said he'll definitely be there to support me."

The true intentions are revealed when the map is unrolled.

Wen Hanyun had already clearly seen the purpose of Xie Xiaoyu's trip.

First, to escalate the conflict between her and Yanzhe, making her argue and throw tantrums, thus annoying Yanzhe; second, to humiliate and damage her self-esteem, forcing her to voluntarily break off her engagement with Yanzhe; and third...

The answer will be revealed tomorrow.

“Thank you for the invitation,” she said calmly. “I will come.”

After seeing Xie Xiaoyu off, Wen Hanyun turned on her computer and saved a surveillance video to her cloud drive, which contained their entire conversation.

The newly installed audio and video recording equipment at home was originally intended for Yanzhe, but it turned out to be an unexpected surprise.

Just then, her phone vibrated in her pocket.

The call connected, and Yanzhe's voice came from the other end, "Hanyun."

"......"

"Hello?"

Suppressing her physical aversion to him, Wen Hanyun asked, "What is it?"

"Hanyun, I miss you so much. When can we meet?" Yanzhe's tone was soft. "I already know I was wrong."

“I talked nonsense that day, and you hit me too. We’re even now, so please forgive me.”

"You know, the only person who can sit next to me is you."

"Um......"

Wen Hanyun answered casually.

There was only one person sitting next to him, or rather, the other women were lying beneath him.

Hearing her response, Yanzhe pressed on, "Yunhan, haven't you always wanted to go to a concert? I happen to have two tickets to Xinghe Concert tomorrow night. How about I go with you?"

"Shameless."

Wen Hanyun couldn't help but curse out loud.

Accompanying his fiancée to see his lover's performance?

How dare he!

No wonder they're from a wealthy family, they really know how to have fun.

Yan Zhe's shamelessness has once again refreshed her understanding of what a scumbag is.

"What did you say?"

"It's nothing, I said it's okay." Wen Yunhan forced a smile and hung up the phone.

"That's great!" Yanzhe was secretly delighted. "What time should I pick you up...? Hello?"

"Beep—beep—"

The only response he received was the busy signal.

.

Yan Zhe waited in the cold wind for almost an hour, but received no reply to the message and could not get through on the phone. Just as he was about to get angry, he saw Wen Hanyun walking gracefully towards him.

With just one glance, he forgot all his complaints and even his expression became somewhat stunned.

The woman in front of him was no longer wearing those conservative and old-fashioned long dresses, but had changed into a black strapless dress adorned with rhinestones. The dark matte fabric made her already fair skin look even more delicate, and the close-fitting cut showed off her perfect figure.

"Yunhan?"

Yan Zhe was stunned for a while before he remembered to open the passenger door for her.

This is such an ordinary gesture, I don't know how long it's been since I last did it.

"Mm," Wen Hanyun replied calmly.

Men are just despicable.

No matter how much he gave, it was all in vain. The sudden estrangement, however, felt strange to him.

They soon arrived at the ticket checkpoint. Just as they followed the crowd into the venue, Yanzhe suddenly said, "Hanyun, you go find a seat first. I'm going to the restroom."

As he spoke, his gaze unconsciously drifted towards a certain direction inside the venue.

Wen Hanyun glanced at him in the direction of his gaze, but did not expose him; she simply nodded slightly.

"good."

Their seats were in the first row, right next to each other, clearly obtained through insider dealings.

She had just found a seat when her phone vibrated softly in her pocket.

Upon unlocking the screen, an anonymous message popped up:

[Miss, the backend monitoring system you requested has been installed. The content... is expected to be somewhat explicit, but it should be exactly what you wanted.]

"Thank you." She typed a reply and promptly transferred the final payment.

Just then, a voice filled with surprise rang out: "Teacher Wen? I knew it was you!!"

"?"

Wen Hanyun looked in the direction of the sound and saw a boy in a white shirt running towards her with a look of urgency on his face.

"No time to explain, come with me!"

She frowned and subtly sized him up; he was a completely unfamiliar face.

"Who are you?"

Could it be someone arranged by Xie Xiaoyu?

"Hey, Teacher Wen, my name is He Hui. I used to be your student and also your fan..."

He Hui scratched his head sheepishly.

“I think I saw you at the ticket gate just now, I thought I was seeing things,” he said, grabbing her wrist and leading her backstage. “Teacher Wen, you have to help us out!”

"What happened?"

"That's right," He Hui explained hurriedly as he walked, "Our guitarist who's supposed to start the concert suddenly got acute appendicitis and was just taken to the hospital. It's almost time for the show, and we can't find a replacement at all!"

"Thank goodness we found you, we're saved!"

As he pulled Wen Hanyun toward the backstage, he excitedly said, "Sister Xiaoyu, look who I brought!"

"Sister Xiaoyu?"

"Strange, it was just here a moment ago." He frowned in confusion.

Wen Hanyun chuckled inwardly, thinking that Xie Xiaoyu was probably still busy with important business with Yanzhe.

"Alright, stop looking. I probably can't help you with this."

She stopped and pulled her hand away from his.

"Teacher Wen, don't be modest!" He Hui said anxiously, pacing back and forth. "I've seen your performances; piano, guitar, and flute are all your strengths!"

"But......"

A complex mix of emotions welled up in Wen Hanyun's heart.

She hadn't been on stage for too long, and for Yan Zhe's sake, even the passion she once had had gradually faded.

"No buts, Ms. Wen! All you need to do is play an impromptu piece at the beginning, it's very simple for you," the boy thought for a moment, then took a silver butterfly mask out of his pocket and put it in her hand, "If you don't want to show your face, just wear this!"

"The performance is about to start in ten minutes, let me go get your guitar!"

Before she could refuse again, the boy had already run off like the wind. A moment later, he returned carrying a black electric guitar, clasped his hands together, and bowed to her. "Teacher Wen, I'm counting on you! Please, please~"

Wen Hanyun looked at the exquisite butterfly mask in her hand, plucked a string, remained silent for a moment, and finally raised her hand to put on the mask.
