Chapter 26, he pressed his index finger against her lips.
Yan Sheng let out a sneer, "He really brought it on himself."
"Sir, Long San has arrived with a group of men," the bodyguard's respectful voice came again. "We came out ahead of time and cleaned up the scene very well. However, with Xie Xiaoyu's mouth, Long San should be able to find out about you very soon."
"Xie Xiaoyu has been taken away. It is said that the consequences of betraying Long San are terrible. She will be sent to Southeast Asia. Young Master Yan Zhe... I wonder if Long San is wary of the Yan family and has not done anything to him."
"You guys retreat first, don't alert those people. Also, send a message to Yanzhe's father, just make sure he doesn't die."
Yan Sheng's voice was completely flat, as if he were talking about a complete stranger.
He gave a few instructions and hung up the phone. Turning around, he saw Wen Hanyun walking out of the medical room.
He stepped forward, his tone softening instantly, "What were the test results? What did the doctor say?"
To reassure him, Wen Hanyun tried to keep her tone calm: "The doctor said it's nothing serious, just a bit of a shock and soft tissue contusion. He needs to rest and recuperate."
Yan Sheng breathed a sigh of relief.
"That's good. Just stay home and rest for the next few days. Don't worry about anything else, I'll take care of it for you."
Wen Hanyun nodded obediently, hugged him, buried her face in his neck, and felt his cool scent lingering around her nose. Her unease gradually dissipated.
Yan Sheng's body stiffened for a moment, then he happily picked her up in his arms.
He slowly returned to the bedroom, gently placed her on the soft bed, covered her with a blanket, and then sat on the edge of the bed, lovingly stroking her cheek.
"Does it still hurt?" Yan Sheng asked softly, holding her hand tightly so she could feel his warmth.
"It doesn't hurt anymore."
Wen Hanyun shook her head and squeezed his hand back; her fingertips were still a little cold.
Yan Sheng's heart tightened, and he bent down to hug her tightly.
He gently patted her back, like soothing a frightened kitten.
"Hanyun... I'm so worried about you," he said, carefully choosing his words to comfort her. "In the future, if you encounter a situation like this, please take care of yourself first, no matter what. Don't be afraid to bother me, okay?"
Wen Hanyun leaned against him, feeling his strong embrace, and tears silently streamed down her face, soaking the front of his clothes.
After a while, Wen Hanyun's emotions gradually calmed down, but her stomach growled at an inopportune moment.
Yan Sheng smiled and pinched her flushed cheek: "Are you hungry? I asked the kitchen to make some millet porridge and light side dishes. Shall we have them bring them over to you now?"
“Okay…” Wen Hanyun nodded and let go of his hand.
Yan Sheng got up and walked out of the bedroom, taking a delicate tray from the butler. On it was a bowl of steaming millet porridge and two small dishes.
He sat on the edge of the bed, picked up a spoon, scooped up a spoonful of millet porridge, blew on it to cool it down, and then held it to Wen Hanyun's lips: "Come on, open your mouth."
Wen Hanyun was a little embarrassed and wanted to take it herself, but Yan Sheng held her hand down.
"Sweetie, I'll feed you."
She had no choice but to obediently open her mouth. The millet porridge was soft, sweet, and fragrant, with a faint warmth. It slid down her throat into her stomach, warming her whole body.
After finishing the bowl of porridge, Wen Hanyun felt much stronger and her eyes became clearer.
Yansheng put down the bowl of porridge and wiped her mouth for her.
"Are you tired? Take a nap, I'll stay here with you."
Wen Hanyun took a deep breath, lay down, and closed her eyes.
With Yansheng by her side, she felt more at ease than ever before and soon fell into a deep sleep.
Yan Sheng looked at her sleeping face, his eyes full of doting affection.
He wanted to gently stroke her hair, but stopped himself for fear of waking her from her light sleep.
After an unknown amount of time, Wen Hanyun woke up from her sleep; it was already dark.
The bedroom was lit by a soft wall lamp. Yan Sheng was still sitting on the edge of her bed, staring blankly out the dark window, lost in thought.
Wen Hanyun rubbed her eyes.
Looking at the man's profile illuminated by the warm light, Wen Hanyun seemed somewhat dazed.
This was her second time visiting Yansheng's house, and both times it was by accident; she ended up sleeping in his room both times.
She carefully examined the bedroom furnishings.
The style is minimalist from the entrance to the bathroom. Apart from the necessary furniture and a cabinet full of books on economics and business law, there are no superfluous decorations. The bedroom is also a simple cool gray.
Finally, Yansheng realized she was awake.
Seeing Yan Sheng turn around, Wen Hanyun's lips curled up slightly: "You didn't leave?"
"I was afraid you'd be scared if you woke up and couldn't see me." Yan Sheng leaned down and gently touched her forehead. "How are you feeling? Is anything bothering you?"
"No, I feel much better." Wen Hanyun shyly looked away and sat up. "Yansheng, thank you."
"Thank me for what?" Yan Sheng asked with a smile.
"Thank you for saving me, thank you for staying with me all this time, thank you... for being so kind to me."
Wen Hanyun counted them carefully, her voice soft, carrying a hint of dependence that she herself was unaware of.
Yan Sheng tightened his arms around her, holding her even closer.
"Fool, you are the most important person to me. Everything I do for you is only right."
He lowered his head, cupped her face in his hands, and looked into her eyes with utmost seriousness.
"Hanyun, I know that you have been very cautious about relationships and dare not easily trust others because of various things in the past. But I hope you can believe me. My feelings for you have never been just a passing fancy."
"I want to be with you, for the rest of my life, and never be apart."
"Once you're better, let's get engaged, and then get married... okay?"
Wen Hanyun's heart skipped a beat. She looked up at Yan Shengmo's dark eyes and saw her reflection in them. Her eyes instantly welled up with tears.
"Shh..."
He pressed his finger against her lips, afraid that she would say something he couldn't accept.
"Hanyun, if you still don't have an answer in your heart, at least don't reject me. Give me a chance to get closer to you, okay?"
This man, who was a powerful figure in the business world, was like a helpless and bewildered child in front of her, afraid of being rejected and afraid of losing her.
She nodded vigorously, her voice trembling with tears: "Okay."
"Silly girl, why are you crying again?"
Yan Sheng chuckled and lowered his head to kiss her lips.
The kiss was very light, without any lust, yet it carried all his deep affection and promise, as if to merge their souls together.
.
the next day.
When Wen Hanyun woke up, it was already past nine o'clock.
She had just finished washing up and went downstairs, but she didn't see Yansheng.
