Chapter 66, Since you've chosen him, I wish you happiness.
How did he end up here?
Wen Hanyun's heart skipped a beat, and she subconsciously tried to shake off Yan Zhe's hand, but Yan Zhe held it tightly.
Yan Sheng strode over, pulled Wen Hanyun to his side, and forcefully pushed Yan Zhe away, saying, "Yan Zhe, are you tired of living?"
His tone towards Yan Zhe was icy and chilling, but his gaze towards her was filled with hurt and disbelief: "You came to Y Country... just to find Yan Zhe?"
After seeing her breakup text message, Yan Sheng searched for Wen Hanyun for a long time, chasing her from China to Y country. He finally found her whereabouts, but he never expected to see such a scene.
Looking at Yan Sheng's expression, Wen Hanyun felt a pang of sadness.
For some reason, even though she had already broken up with Yansheng, she didn't want him to misunderstand.
But she couldn't explain it either.
If she explains now, her plan will fall apart.
In order to move forward with the plan, she had no choice but to harden her heart.
Wen Hanyun looked away, and when she looked at him again, her eyes were distant: "Is there something you need?"
"Answer my question first."
Yan Sheng took a slow breath and tried to speak to her in the calmest tone possible.
Where I go or who I go to is none of your business, right? We've already broken up.
Wen Hanyun's words were like a sharp knife, piercing Yan Sheng's heart.
Yan Sheng's face darkened further. He stepped forward and grabbed Wen Hanyun's wrist. "It's alright? Wen Hanyun, tell me, what exactly are we?"
"You want to break up with me just by sending a text message? What do you take me for?"
His gaze was fixed on Wen Hanyun, his heart filled with pain.
He couldn't understand why the woman who had been so happy with him not long ago had become so unfamiliar and indifferent.
"What do I take you for?" Wen Hanyun shook off his hand, took a step back to distance herself from him, and said with a hint of sarcasm, "Yansheng, don't be so arrogant."
"I was only with you on a whim back then, and now that I'm tired of you, we've naturally broken up."
Her words were like daggers to the heart. Yan Sheng staggered, and the light in his eyes dimmed instantly.
He couldn't believe these words would come out of Wen Hanyun's mouth.
"Just a whim?" Yan Sheng's voice trembled slightly. "I don't believe it. Eyes don't lie. Do you dare look me in the eye and say it again?"
"Otherwise what?" Wen Hanyun raised her head to meet his gaze, her eyes devoid of any warmth. "Yansheng, do you really think I like you?"
"The only reason I liked you was because I needed someone to help me heal from past heartbreaks. Now that I don't need that anymore, why should I choose you?"
She deliberately said these hurtful things to provoke Yan Sheng, to make him give up completely, and then leave.
Only in this way will Yanzhe not become suspicious, and her plan can continue.
Yan Zhe stood aside, watching this scene, a smug smile playing on his lips.
He didn't expect Wen Hanyun to say that, which undoubtedly helped him a lot.
He stepped forward, put his arm around Wen Hanyun's shoulder, and looked at Yan Sheng provocatively.
"Uncle, did you hear that? Hanyun chose me. She chose me back then, and she still does now."
"You thought you had taken her away, but now she's back in my life. It's all fate."
Yan Sheng's gaze fell on Yan Zhe's hand that was around Wen Hanyun's shoulder, and the anger in his eyes was almost burning.
He suddenly rushed forward and punched Yanzhe in the face: "I warned you, stay away from her!"
Yan Zhe was knocked back a few steps, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
He wiped it off nonchalantly. "Yansheng, you dare hit me?"
"It's okay, anyway, you hit me, and Hanyun will be the one who feels sorry for me later, and I'll have to trouble her to bandage me up."
"Say it again?" Yan Sheng wanted to throw another punch, but Wen Hanyun stopped him.
"Yansheng, stop fooling around!"
Wen Hanyun's tone was tinged with impatience, "You're really embarrassing in the state you're in right now, so stop bothering me."
Her words completely calmed Yan Sheng down.
He looked at Wen Hanyun and said, "Wen Hanyun, I never expected you to be this kind of person."
"So what if I am?" Wen Hanyun felt a sharp pain in her heart, and tilted her head slightly to keep the tears from falling. "Aren't you the same? We're all the same."
Looking at her indifferent face, Yan Sheng's last glimmer of hope vanished.
He took a deep breath, and the struggle in his eyes was gradually replaced by disappointment. "Okay, very good."
"Wen Hanyun, since you've chosen him, I wish you happiness."
After saying that, he glanced at Wen Hanyun with a complicated expression, then turned and left resolutely.
As Yan Sheng's figure gradually disappeared at the end of the street, Wen Hanyun felt as if her heart was being tightly gripped by an invisible hand, the pain almost making it hard to breathe.
She bit her lip, unsure whether her actions were to maintain the plan or to retaliate against his past heartlessness.
Yansheng, no matter what, you hurt me first...
Yan Zhe watched Yan Sheng's departing figure and smiled, "Han Yun, look, he's finally gone."
Wen Hanyun turned around, feeling a wave of nausea.
She gently pushed his hand away, saying, "Let's go back to the hotel first. I'm a little tired."
Yan Zhe didn't notice anything unusual about her and assumed she was genuinely tired, so he nodded and said, "Okay, I'll take you upstairs to rest."
Yanzhe paid her room fee in advance, and the two walked into the hotel elevator together.
Wen Hanyun leaned against the cold wall, closed her eyes, and her mind was filled with Yan Sheng's disappointed look.
She knew that this argument was driving them further apart. But she had no choice; to expose Yanzhe's true colors and to prevent more people from being hurt, she had to do it.
The elevator arrived at the floor, and Yanzhe led Wen Hanyun to his room door.
Wen Hanyun opened the door and walked into the room, her eyes quickly scanning the room.
The room was large and luxuriously decorated, with a faint aroma of fragrance in the air.
"Have a seat for a bit, I'll get you a glass of water," Yanzhe said, turning to walk towards the bar.
Seeing that he indeed had no intention of leaving, Wen Hanyun sat down on the sofa and quietly took out a sealed bag from her pocket, which was used to hold samples.
She hid the sealed bag in the lining of her wallet, then casually picked up a magazine from the table and started flipping through it.
Yan Zhe came over with a glass of water and handed it to her: "Have some water, it'll calm you down."
Wen Hanyun took the water glass, said thank you, and took a small sip.
"Hanyun," Yanzhe sat down beside her, his eyes filled with affection, "Don't worry, I will definitely treat you well."
"When I return to China, I will definitely be able to acquire the Yan family's assets, and then I will marry you, just like we agreed before. I will make you the happiest woman."
Wen Hanyun gave an awkward smile. "Yanzhe, thank you. I believe you."
All she wants now is to get the test samples as soon as possible and leave this man who disgusts her.
