Chapter 311: Enter the Heavenly Prison

Concubine Li's face immediately fell: "Who is in charge of the imperial kitchen now?"

Her original intention was to hold the Imperial Kitchen Manager accountable, but as soon as she finished speaking, the Sixth Princess immediately followed up, "Mother, it is the Crown Princess's sister-in-law who is in charge of the Imperial Kitchen now."

Concubine Li was stunned and couldn't help but look at Qin Wan who was sitting on the side.

The Queen is now "seriously ill", and the palace has been divided into several parts for Qin Wan, Li Guifei and Min Fei to take over.

Qin Wan is now in charge of the imperial kitchen, palace purchasing, and the clothing bureau.

Concubine Li's thoughts raced, and before Qin Wan could open her mouth, she rebuked the Sixth Princess: "What nonsense are you talking about! The Crown Princess has just taken over the palace affairs, and everything is in chaos. I think it's the servants who are not paying attention. What does it have to do with the Crown Princess?"

The Seventh Princess hurried over, and even the usually dignified Princess was sweating profusely. She hurriedly greeted them and said, "Sister-in-law, my two mothers, the palace maids around me, my eighth sister, and my ninth sister are all sick. I've called in the imperial physician, and he says it looks like they've been poisoned. I dare not neglect this and have come to inform you all."

Concubine Min looked at the Seventh Princess in surprise and wanted to ask what was going on, but when she looked at the Sixth Princess again, she stopped talking.

She saw it, how could Qin Wan not see it? She was still thinking about where to start investigating this matter, but she didn't expect someone to hit her right in the palm of her hand.

She looked at the Seventh Princess with a smile and asked, "Poisoned? Is there any evidence?"

The Seventh Princess nodded and said, "I asked the imperial physician to bring something over."

Before the imperial physician could even enter the palace, the eighth and ninth princesses came in sobbing, "Mother, Mother, someone is trying to harm us!"

The two princesses knelt on the ground. Seeing the Seventh Princess and the Sixth Princess were there, they looked at them with grievance and said nothing more.

Qin Wan looked at the three princesses, then at the Sixth Princess, and asked with a smile, "Did you also happen to have no appetite yesterday and didn't eat the food, so you gave it to the palace servants?"

The Eighth Princess nodded, not understanding why. She felt someone pulling her sleeve and turned to look at the Ninth Princess curiously: "Ninth sister, why are you pulling me?"

The Sixth Princess rolled her eyes to the sky, then turned to glare at the Seventh Princess: "What a lousy teammate! How stupid!"

The Seventh Princess knelt down and said, "That's right. My sister-in-law gave me the recipe for milk tea and snacks yesterday. After I returned to the palace, she had someone make them for me. I ate a lot, but I lost my appetite that evening. My Eighth and Ninth Sisters also had snacks at my place last night."

The two nodded in unison when they heard this: "Yes, yes, that's right, we just ate too many snacks."

The Sixth Princess sighed and knelt down as well: "Please ask Mother and Sister-in-law to make the decision for us."

Concubine Li looked at Qin Wan, feeling very embarrassed. "Crown Princess, look at this! We just took over the palace affairs, and such a big mistake has occurred. What should we do?"

She didn't put all the blame on Qin Wan, but she didn't have any good intentions and directly threw the problem to Qin Wan.

Qin Wan smiled lazily: "With something this big happening, someone has to take the blame, right?"

She glanced at the Eighth and Ninth Princesses and said, "What a coincidence! You all ate too much and didn't eat after you returned. You gave the food to the palace servants, and they were all poisoned. So, someone poisoned all four of you princesses?"

Qin Wan never asked why the Sixth Princess shared her meal with the palace servants. If she had asked, she would have said that she was having snacks with the Seventh Princess. It would have been a waste of words.

The eighth and ninth princesses were too guilty to dare to look up.

The Sixth Princess still stood straight, staring at Qin Wan and saying confidently: "Of course someone poisoned me!"

"Oh." Qin Wan let out a long "oh" and smiled, "Why are you glaring at me, Sixth Princess? If you don't trust me, then we'll summon people from the Imperial Kitchen and the Imperial Hospital."

"The Imperial Kitchen has a daily shopping list, and samples of the prepared meals are kept before being sent out. These dishes are not destroyed until noon the next day."

Qin Wan curled her lips and smiled. "Let the imperial physician investigate what poison the palace maids were poisoned with. If there's no poison in the food left, where did it come from? Who delivered the food, who received it, and who had contact with it in between? If we investigate everything one by one and unravel the mystery, we'll eventually find out."

"Poisoning the princess in the palace is a serious crime. If found, they will be sent to the Heavenly Prison first. Then I will report to my father and decide on the punishment. If necessary, I will also inform the clan leader to deal with it."

The Sixth Princess immediately said uncomfortably, "It's not that serious, is it? It's just diarrhea, no one is dead."

Qin Wan looked at her seriously and said, "Sixth Princess, you're wrong. If it's a laxative today, wouldn't it be arsenic tomorrow? The princess was lucky to have dodged it this time, but who knows if she'll have a chance next time? Furthermore, if they poisoned the princesses today, what if they poisoned someone else next time? Who will be the unlucky one then?"

The Sixth Princess's expression became increasingly grim. Seeing Qin Wan ordering people to call the imperial physician and the imperial kitchen staff over, she looked at Concubine Li for help.

Concubine Li's heart skipped a beat, and she was so angry that she wanted to slap her right away, but she couldn't because she still had to protect her.

Concubine Li sighed and gave Qin Wan an awkward smile: "Let's end this matter here."

Qin Wan looked at Concubine Li with a half-smile and repeated the key points of her words: "What they ate was no small matter. Your Majesty, are you sure you won't investigate? Aren't you afraid they'll poison someone else in the future?"

Concubine Li closed her eyes and nodded vigorously: "I guarantee with my own head that there will be no more poisoning incidents in the palace from now on."

She was giving herself a military order. If there was a poisoning incident in the palace in the future, Concubine Li would be the first person responsible.

Qin Wan smiled with satisfaction: "Since the Imperial Concubine has given her word, then let's just leave it at that. I have something else to do, so I'll leave first."

As soon as Qin Wan left, Concubine Li slammed the table and said, "How dare you! You dare to do anything! Are you trying to cause trouble for the Crown Princess or for me? Tell me! Whose idea was this?"

The Sixth Princess was about to pass the buck, but Concubine Min spoke before her, "I don't need to explain who came up with this idea. Since the Imperial Concubine has taken it upon herself, I'll let this matter go."

Concubine Min stood up, took the Seventh Princess's hand, and asked the Eighth Princess and the Ninth Princess to leave.

Concubine Li was tricked by Qin Wan and had no choice but to issue a military order. Now, looking at the Sixth Princess, she was furious and rushed up to slap her: "You are confused!"

The Sixth Princess covered her face and looked at Concubine Li in astonishment: "Mother, you hit me? From childhood to adulthood, you have never touched me a finger, and now you hit me!"

Concubine Li pointed at her nose and scolded: "Your brother is at a critical moment now. What if you act so recklessly in the palace and ruin your brother's plan?"
