The young eunuch said in a panic, "Of course I am not a eunuch in the Eastern Palace! I am from the Hall of Supreme Harmony, but I have always obeyed your orders. You may not remember me, but I work for you! Your Highness! This is what you ordered the Clothing Bureau to do..."
The young eunuch realized he had spoken out of turn and immediately struggled to break free from Lu Linglong's grip, rushing to the stone steps beside him: "Your Highness, I apologize to you!"
The loud shout came to an abrupt end, and blood quickly dyed the white marble steps red. The candlelight flickered, and the dark blood looked like a bottomless black hole, rapidly expanding as if to suck everyone in.
How could those newly minted scholars and students have ever seen such a bloody scene? They hurriedly turned their heads away, not daring to look.
Lu Linglong was so frightened that she stepped back repeatedly, pointing at the eunuch's body and saying, "He committed suicide on his own, it has nothing to do with me! You must bear witness for me!"
