Chapter 234: Old Friend Uncle Qiao

Chapter 234: Old Friend Uncle Qiao

The curtain was drawn aside and the boss came over. "Ready?"

Huo Qichen was very polite to him, "Thank you, Uncle Qiao."

The elder called Uncle Qiao waved his hand and finally asked curiously, "Who is this..."

The question was asked by Jian Mo.

Jian Mo felt a little embarrassed when asked, and she knew what Huo Qichen's expression would be without even looking.

How to answer, girlfriend?

She subconsciously stepped back.

Suddenly her wrist was grabbed, and Huo Qichen pulled her forward, saying in a very natural tone, "I'm married, Uncle Qiao, this is my wife."

Jian Mo's back stiffened.

She looked up in disbelief.

"Married? Great." Uncle Qiao smiled heartily, patted Jian Mo's shoulder heavily, and said, "Come on, I'll treat you to a midnight snack."

Jian Mo was stunned: "Huh?"

Huo Qi Chen motioned her to go forward.

If she hadn't seen it with her own eyes, Jian Mo would never have imagined that one day, a man who made hundreds of millions of decisions every day would sit in a narrow and busy place to eat a midnight snack.

And he didn't show any disgust.

Uncle Qiao ordered a few bottles of beer. He was obviously very happy to see Huo Qichen. He introduced him to Jian Mo: "Qichen grew up under my watch. I haven't seen him for a long time."

Jian Mo was surprised to learn about Huo Qichen's past.

Huo Qichen poured wine for Uncle Qiao and said calmly, "I've been too busy these past few years."

Uncle Qiao: "Do you think I don't know? Why are you avoiding your uncle Qiao?"

The man said nothing.

He was tall and had no place to put his long legs when he sat on the small stool.

Jian Mo was curious and asked while chewing the barbecue: "Why? Tell me."

Uncle Qiao smiled knowingly but didn't answer.

"Since you're still willing to come see me, that's good." Then he changed the subject, "Girl, you're the first woman I've seen with him. How long did they date before getting married?"

Huo Qichen interrupted, half jokingly: "That's because we haven't seen it often, so you only saw this one."

Just as he finished speaking, Uncle Qiao knocked him on the head with the end of his chopsticks and said, "You have so many girlfriends, is that something to be proud of?"

Jian Mo laughed out loud.

Huo Qichen gave a warning look.

"What's your name girl?"

"Jian Mo."

Uncle Qiao chewed on these two words and looked at her face again, "Looks... a lot like..."

"Uncle Qiao, she's not Xiao Xiao." Huo Qichen interrupted him firmly, "She's Jian Mo, my wife."

Uncle Qiao was stunned for a moment, then gulped down his wine. "Great! I'm glad you can move on from that past! Now that you're married, treat her well."

Huo Qichen was a little impatient, but he had to obey, and said reluctantly: "I know."

It was summer, and the sky was filled with scattered stars. There was also a crescent moon.

The breeze from the alley blew over, and the aroma of barbecue spread for ten miles. The surroundings were noisy and lively, and they sat there like the most ordinary people in the world.

Uncle Qiao drank too much and dozed off on the table.

Without the third party to ease the atmosphere, Jian Mo felt a little uncomfortable.

Huo Qichen was in the mood. "Let's play a game?"

Jian Mo tilted her head: "What game?"

"Chemindefer, Baccarat, best of five, the dealer is decided by drawing lots." Huo Qichen asked the shopkeeper for playing cards and shuffled them quickly in his hands.

Jian Mo barely knew a little.

She half-supported her head and nodded in agreement: "What's the bet?"

Huo Qichen hadn't thought it through yet, "Let's see who wins first."

After Jian Mo dealt the cards, she had already thought of the bet, which Huo Qichen would never make. When he didn't do it, there was only one solution, and that was to settle it with money.

When the time comes, she will say, "It depends on how sincere Mr. Huo is."

In the first two games, Huo Qichen was teaching her a lesson, and she lost spectacularly without any suspense.

Jian Mo smiled unabashedly. She was always particularly interested in the affairs of Huo Qichen and had forgotten all her previous grudges.

Huo Qi Chen didn't mind, his brows relaxed and he motioned for her to continue.

"If I win one more round, you'll lose."

Unexpectedly, Huo Qichen won a game later. Jian Mo had just slowly figured out the trick, and he won another game.

Jian Mo began to panic and stared into Huo Qichen's eyes: "Did you cheat?"

Huo Qichen spread out his hands for her to examine: "You think I'm too stupid."

It seems so.

Jian Mo dealt the last card with half belief and half doubt, staring at Huo Qichen's hand with almost holding her breath.

Huo Qichen put it away and asked with a half-smile, "Are you afraid that I will win?"

"I'm afraid you'll have bad intentions towards me." She said it as if she wouldn't.

Huo Qi Chen didn't say anything either. He slowly turned over the last card in his hand, lifted a corner of the deck and looked at it, tapping the card with his knuckles.

Jian Mo was extremely anxious. She hated Huo Qichen's calm demeanor the most. He acted very upright and no one could tell the real outcome, but he looked like he was sure of victory.

Huo Qi Chen glanced at the anxious girl and lightly threw the card in his hand that would decide the outcome.

3 of Spades.

Huo Qichen lost!

"You lost!" Jian Mo smiled like a flower, slammed the table excitedly, and almost jumped up.

She loved the pleasure of defeating Huo Qi Chen.

"I lost." Huo Qichen was willing to admit defeat: "What do you want me to do?"

How many people dream of hearing Director Huo say "I lost"?

Jian Mo thought for a moment and said, "You can do anything I want you to do."

"It's all up to you."

Before Jian Mo could finish her words, Uncle Qiao was woken up and yawned: "It's too late, you should go home."

How could he really let Uncle Qiao pay? The old man had drunk too much, so Huo Qi Chen went to pay the bill himself.

Seeing him leave, Uncle Qiao suddenly took Jian Mo's hand and spoke a little unclearly: "Qi Chen, this kid, hasn't come to see me for many years, let alone brought a woman here. You are the first one, so I guess it has a different meaning. You two should take care of yourself."

Jian Mo's excitement slowly faded away. Listening to the tone that sounded like entrusting a daughter-in-law, she felt heavy in her heart.

Uncle Qiao held her hand tightly, "I know he's a high-ranking official in many places now. He has a different status, and I'm no longer the elder who can control him. Xiaomo, you have to help me keep an eye on him..."

"This child has been rebellious since he was young. He dares to do anything. You must keep an eye on him. Never touch anything illegal."

Uncle Qiao's face was flushed because of what he said, but his eyes were firm.

Jian Mo wanted to say that she couldn't control Huo Qichen at all, and it was impossible for anyone to control him. As for those things in the gray area, she had been exposed to them over the past year and had some understanding of them. Huo Qichen was definitely not one to avoid them, he was clearly an expert at it.

But when she looked at Uncle Qiao, she couldn't bear to speak.

The old man still has a pure heart towards the child he has watched grow up. He is willing to see him stay in a high position, but does not want to see him become bad.

Uncle Qiao looked up at the sky, sighed, and remembered something. "Of course, if he treats you badly, just come to me and I'll help you teach him a lesson!"

Jian Mo laughed out loud.
