Chen Yuan and Gu Jisui followed Su Yi to the welfare home. Most of the pets there had been taken away, leaving only some sick and disabled cats and dogs.
Before the people from the rescue station arrived, Chen Yuan bought some medicine bottles to treat them, and Gu Jisui rolled up his sleeves to help.
When Su Yi saw this scene, his jaw almost dropped to the ground in shock. Is this still the cold and aloof man he knew?
Chen Yuan was in a hurry to save the cats and dogs that were almost unable to hold on.
Seeing that she was sweating profusely, her hair stuck to her forehead and face, and her originally fair skin was sunburned red, Gu Jisui felt distressed.
He noticed a girl who was helping out at the welfare home and approached her shyly, "Hello..."

Gu Jisui was stunned for a moment, then thanked him and returned to Chen Yuan.
He reached out and held Shen Yuan's messy hair in his hand.
Chen Yuan suddenly felt a cool and comfortable feeling on her neck. When she turned around, she saw Gu Jisui holding a rubber band in his hand.
She was stunned for a moment, and when she came to her senses, Gu Jisui had already tied her hair into a low ponytail.
"Do you often tie girls' hair?" Chen Yuan teased jokingly.
Gu Jisui was stunned for a moment, "No... you are the first one."
Seeing his indescribable awkward expression, Shen Yuan suddenly felt warm in her heart.
Just as the two were interacting, a truck stopped at the door of the welfare home. It was people from the animal rescue station.
The two of them helped load the little ones into the truck. Looking at the truck moving farther and farther away, Chen Yuan finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Just as the two were about to leave, a little girl suddenly ran out.
"elder sister……"
She called out, and Shen Yuan turned around and stared at the thin and small girl who looked to be about sixteen or seventeen years old and paused.
"Are you calling me?"
The girl nodded, was stunned for a moment, and her eyes were suddenly filled with tears.
"Can I...can I go with you?"
Shen Yuan frowned, not understanding what she meant for a moment.
Seeing her hesitation, the girl spoke with a sob, tears streaming down her cheeks.
"I'm an orphan adopted by the dean. Now that he's gone, I have nowhere to go. So can I go home with my sister?"
A hint of surprise flashed across Chen Yuan's eyes. Dean Lu colluded with gangsters to kidnap children, but she didn't expect that he actually adopted a child.
Although he didn't know the girl's origins, Shen Yuan still softened his heart.
She turned around and looked at Gu Jisui, "Ah Sui, I..."
Gu Jisui saw through her thoughts at a glance, moved his lips, and interrupted her, "If you want to adopt it, then take it with you."
Seeing that he agreed, Shen Yuan's eyes revealed surprise.
"Okay." She turned around and took the girl's hand. "Then come back with me. By the way, what's your name?"
When the girl saw that Shen Yuan wanted to adopt her, she was immediately ecstatic, wiped away her tears and nodded repeatedly.
"Well, thank you, sister. My name is A Yao."
Chen Yuan took the girl back to the hotel, and they decided to set off early tomorrow morning to return home.
Gu Jisui left the bedroom for the two of them and slept on the sofa in the living room.
The next morning, they were originally planning to set off after breakfast, but Chen Yuan found that A Yao was still wearing the welfare home's work clothes, so she took her to a nearby store to buy her some clothes.
Chen Yuan took A Yao's hand and helped her pick out clothes one by one, while Gu Jisui followed behind like a bodyguard and helped carry things without complaint.
After buying some clothes for the girl, the three of them set off on their journey home.
It was not until the evening that the car stopped at the Gu family compound.
A Yao looked at the big villa that she had never seen before, and her eyes were full of envy.
Qin Mingyan had already heard about what happened to Shen Yuan in the neighboring city. When she saw them coming back, she ran out and looked at her scrutinizingly.
"Hey, you're back too. I thought you were addicted to being a good guy and didn't want to come back."
Before Chen Yuan could speak, Gu Jisui frowned, "Whether she comes back or not seems to have nothing to do with you, right?"
Qin Mingyan was so angry that she was speechless, and turned her gaze to A Yao who was hiding behind Shen Yuan.
"Having you alone isn't enough, and you brought back this little bastard. Do you really think the Gu family is a place where you can do whatever you want?"
Chen Yuan frowned. She didn't like the way Qin Mingyan addressed A Yao.
"A Sui agreed to let me bring Yao Yao back. Besides, you can rest assured that I can cover her expenses myself."
Qin Mingyan sneered and folded her arms across her chest. "So what? Who knows her identity? Anyway, I will never allow anyone with unknown origins to enter the Gu family."
"I brought A Yao back. If you don't like her, you can move out. You have a lot of houses to live in anyway, right?" Gu Jisui spoke coldly without hesitation, making Qin Mingyan so angry that he blew his beard and glared.
He actually asked me to move out for a bastard and this little bitch?
Don’t even think about it!
"A Sui, I am your mother after all. How can you talk to me like that?"
Hearing this, Gu Jisui sneered and moved his lips, but before he could say anything, he was stopped by Chen Yuan.
Shen Yuan pulled his arm, signaling him to handle it himself.
