Chapter 180 Reconciliation

At night, Yun Fei knocked on the door of Chen Yuan's room.

Shen Yuan raised her eyes and looked out the door, "Who is it?"

"It's me." Yun Fei responded softly, "Xiao Yuan, I saw the light in your room was still on, so I brought you some food."

Chen Yuan rubbed his sore brows, stood up to open the door, and took the food box from Yun Fei's hand.

She asked, "Why are you still awake so late?"

"I can't sleep." Yun Fei said as she glanced at Chen Yuan, a hint of worry in her eyes.

Chen Yuan and Wen Zhi are both her daughters, but now they are so at odds with each other, which makes her feel sad.

Chen Yuan seemed to understand after hearing this, and her tone became a little lighter. "Just say what you want to say."

"Xiao Yuan, you and Wen Zhi are both my daughters. I really don't want to see you two at odds." Yun Fei's fingers twirled slightly, her long eyelashes trembling nervously. "Xiao Yuan, can you give Wen Zhi a chance?"

It is true.

Yun Fei came to negotiate peace on behalf of Wen Zhi.

But even if she is willing, Wen Zhi may not be willing.

Chen Yuan raised the corner of her mouth slightly, and said slowly, "Mom, you worry too much. I don't have any conflicts with anyone. As long as Wen Zhi doesn't cause me trouble in the future, I can let go of what happened in the past."

She didn't suffer any loss in the past, and Wen Zhi was not a qualified opponent, so it was not worth her wasting her energy.

As long as Wen Zhi doesn't cause her any trouble in the future, she can ignore her existence.

As for making friends.

Chen Yuan glanced at Yun Fei, hiding the strangeness in his eyes.

She is not that kind to befriend someone who wants to harm her.

Yun Fei was slightly excited when she heard this. "That's great. I'll thank you on behalf of Wen Zhi. She will definitely be very happy."

Chen Yuan's expression was calm, and he nodded slightly, "It's getting late, you should go to bed early."

Yun Fei nodded repeatedly, and her eyes looked at Chen Yuan more and more softly, "Okay, then I won't disturb you. Xiao Yuan, you should also go to bed early."

After watching Yun Fei leave, the smile on Chen Yuan's lips fell. He put the food box on the table, turned around and went back to his room to wash up and go to bed.

In the morning, when the servant came to clean the room, he saw the food box and was a little surprised, "Miss Yuan, this food box..."

She didn't know what to do for a moment and asked Shen Yuan for advice.

"Throw it away." Shen Yuan said lightly.

"Okay, I'll throw it away now."

Chen Yuan didn't care about the food box, just like she didn't take Yun Fei's words to heart.

She was a latecomer, and in Yun Fei's heart, she was certainly not as good as the daughter who had been raised by her since childhood.

Fortunately, she doesn't really need this kind of relationship right now.

When Chen Yuan arrived at the restaurant, everyone in the Wen family was already seated, and even Wen Zhi, who usually got up late, came early.

Suddenly, she became the last one to arrive.

But Shen Yuan didn't look embarrassed at all and took her seat calmly. Old Madam Wen looked at her dignified demeanor and nodded secretly.

She is worthy of being the daughter of the Wen family.

After dinner, Wen Zhi called Chen Yuan, looking a little nervous, "Chen Yuan, do you want to go to Yaoshan for an outing with me?"

Chen Yuan didn't expect that Wen Zhi would invite her to go for an outing so early in the morning. Yun Fei's words last night were still ringing in her ears.

After thinking for a moment, she nodded and said, "Then go."

"Okay then. You have to follow me closely and don't get lost. Many of the herbs on Yaoshan Mountain are very precious. You might as well get to know them."

Wen Zhi rarely spoke a sensible word, and Chen Yuan attributed all this to Yun Fei.

She had such a change, probably because of Yun Fei's mediation, which made Wen Zhi treat her kindly.

I just don't know how genuine this "pleasant expression" is.

She silently erected a high wall in her heart, and followed Wen Zhi silently, walking together.

The two of them didn't talk much along the way, as if they were just forced to huddle together. Looking at Chen Yuan beside her, Wen Zhi felt uncomfortable all over.

She thought again of what Yun Fei had told her last night, and a hint of jealousy flashed in her eyes.

As long as she goes to Yaoshan, she can completely get rid of Chen Yuan, so that her mother will only have her as a daughter in her heart.

Chen Yuan didn't know what she was planning, but Wen Zhi's gaze always seemed to linger on her, with a hint of temptation and other deep meaning.

Chen Yuan sounded the alarm and quietly moved away from Wen Zhi. Just when she wanted to see where Old Madam Wen and Yun Fei were, Wen Zhi suddenly reached out and pushed her away.

There is a hillside not far away.

Chen Yuan's pupils suddenly shrank. She looked at Wen Zhi who was reaching out her hand, and grabbed her without hesitation. The two of them rolled down the hillside together.

Wen Zhi didn't expect Chen Yuan to help her, and she didn't pay attention for a moment, allowing Chen Yuan to succeed, and her whole body was in pain.

What was worse was that she seemed to have hit a soft-bodied creature. Just as she was about to look up, she saw a fish swimming past her feet.

Before she could shout out, she suddenly felt pain in her leg and cried out, "Ahhh, Shen Yuan, Shen Yuan, I was bitten by a snake."

Chen Yuan was not much better off than her. When she heard the screams, she paid a little attention to look at her and saw two small holes bitten on her legs.

A hint of sarcasm flashed in her eyes, "Wen Zhi, does this count as stealing a chicken but losing the rice?"

She slowly stood up, and even though she was hurt by the collision, she didn't say a word. She looked down at Wen Zhi who was lying on the ground wailing.

"Stop, Shen Yuan, I was really wrong, I know I was wrong, please save me, I am about to die."

After being bitten by the snake, Wen Zhi was in an extremely tense state. She looked at Shen Yuan in horror, not caring about the past grudges, and stretched out her hand to her, "Please save me."

Shen Yuan took a look at her wound. There was no black blood, so it seemed that it was a non-venomous snake.

She sneered, "You're scared now, so how could you be so cruel when you pushed me just now?"

Wen Zhi's expression changed for a moment. She bit her lip and said, "I'm sorry, it's all my fault. I shouldn't hate you, and I shouldn't have pushed you. Can you wait until I'm better before settling the score with me?"

As she spoke, she looked at Shen Yuan expectantly, placing all her hope in her, not noticing that there was no black blood flowing from her wound.

Chen Yuan looked at her for a while, and when she saw that Wen Zhi was about to cry and die, she slowly said, "It's not impossible to save you, but I will settle the score with you today."

Hearing this, Wen Zhi finally felt relieved. She looked at Chen Yuan gratefully and said, "Thank you."

Shen Yuan called out loudly, "Grandma Wen, Madam Yun, come quickly, Wen Zhi was bitten by a snake."

Fortunately, the slope was not steep. It seemed that Wen Zhi did not want to kill her, but just wanted to teach her a lesson.

Otherwise, it would be a real disaster.

The Wen family heard the shouting and rushed over. Wen Yu slid down the hillside, "Chen Yuan, Wen Zhi, why are you two here at the bottom of the hillside?"

He glanced up the hillside and said, "Grandma, they're fine."

Old Madam Wen looked at the younger generations with fear and anxiety, sweating profusely. "I'm glad they're all right. Wen Yu, bring them up quickly."
