Chapter 847 Don’t Dream of Escape

Moonlight streamed through the old windows onto the dark floor, casting bright, mottled shadows. Those silvery rays illuminated the man's gloomy face, making his expression even more eerie and unsettling. His eyes, illuminated by the moonlight, held a sharp, cold light.

"Don't even think about escaping. There's no one around here. If you dare to run, you'll only die." He whispered, his voice dry and cold, like the north wind in winter, chilling people's hearts.

There was an inexplicable excitement in his tone, like a beast about to catch its prey, with a dangerous glint in his eyes.

Chen Yuan felt her heart beating as violently as a drum, and the uneasiness in her chest seemed to be blocking her throat.

Her face was full of fear and confusion, like a deer caught by a hunter, her eyes full of confusion and panic.

Moonlight shone through the window onto the ground, illuminating his gloomy face.

"Be good and don't move. I won't kill you for now, but if you make me angry, I can't guarantee that I won't take your life." He whispered, with an inexplicable excitement in his tone.

Shen Yuan looked at him, his eyes filled with fear and confusion.

Shen Yuan's eyes widened, filled with fear. Her body was as stiff as a rock, unable to move. She tried to speak, but her throat seemed to be blocked by something, and no sound came out.

The man took a step closer to her, and Shen Yuan's body trembled involuntarily. She felt a chill rising from the bottom of her heart and spreading to every corner of her body.

Chen Yuan stared at the man with wide eyes. She didn't know what he was going to do, nor did she know what fate she would face.

The man continued to approach her, each step seeming to press deeper into Shen Yuan's heart. The air around them seemed to grow heavy, as if foreshadowing an impending storm. Shen Yuan felt an inexplicable sense of oppression, a tension and fear she had never experienced before, as if an invisible mountain was pressing down on her chest, making it almost impossible for her to breathe.

The man suddenly stretched out his hand. His fingers were long and strong, like a sharp blade. He grabbed Shen Yuan's arm with such force that it seemed as if he would crush her arm. She felt a sharp pain, and the pain spread throughout her body like an electric current.

"Tell me everything you know about Gu Jisui. Otherwise, you won't be able to withstand my torture," the man threatened. His voice was low and cold, and every word was like a sharp blade, cutting through Shen Yuan's heart.

A pained expression crossed Shen Yuan's face, her eyes filled with fear and helplessness. She knew this man wasn't joking; he would torture her to force her to reveal Gu Jisui's secret. She felt a chill rising from the depths of her heart, a chill that tensed every muscle in her body.

The surrounding environment seemed to become darker, as if all the light was swallowed up by the man's aura.

The man stared at Shen Yuan closely, his eyes deep and cold, as if he could see through her heart. Shen Yuan felt her heartbeat echoing in her ears. She didn't know what to do and could only endure the pain silently.

"You'd better tell the truth, or I'll let you know what real torture is." The man threatened again. His voice was low and cold, and every word was like a sharp blade, cutting open Shen Yuan's heart.

Shen Yuan felt her body trembling. She didn't know what this man would do to her. She knew that if she didn't cooperate with him, the consequences would be disastrous. She took a deep breath and tried to calm herself down.

Chen Yuan tried to remain calm. She knew that only by staying calm could she find a solution to the problem. She took a deep breath and then slowly said, "I don't know Gu Jisui's secret. I'm just an ordinary person."

The man looked at her, his eyes revealing suspicion and disbelief. He obviously did not believe Shen Yuan's words, and he threatened again: "You'd better tell the truth, otherwise I will let you know what real torture is."

Shen Yuan's heartbeat quickened again, and she felt her body trembling. But she knew she couldn't give up, she had to hold on. She took another deep breath, and then said firmly: "I really don't know Gu Jisui's secret, I'm not hiding anything."

The man looked at her, his eyes revealing a sense of helplessness and disappointment. He obviously did not expect Shen Yuan to reject his request so firmly. He was silent for a moment, then slowly let go of her hand.

Shen Yuan felt relieved, knowing that she had passed the most difficult moment. But she knew that this man would not let her go easily, and she had to remain vigilant at all times.

Shen Yuan tried to calm herself down. She knew the road ahead was long and she needed to stay calm and rational. She took a deep breath, then slowly raised her head and looked at the man.

"I don't know Gu Jisui's secret, but I can tell you that I will not be your tool, nor will I be threatened by you." Shen Yuan's voice was firm and powerful, and her eyes revealed a determination and courage.

The man looked at her, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes. He obviously didn't expect Shen Yuan to reject his request so firmly and show such courage and determination. He was silent for a moment, then slowly let go of her hand.

He was very good at judging people. This woman really didn't know and didn't seem to be lying.

It seems that Xu Zhixu miscalculated.

However, they have a plan B.

Walking out of the dilapidated hut, the man felt a gloomy atmosphere envelop him. He looked up at the sky and saw dark clouds, as if foreshadowing an impending storm. He tightened his collar to try to resist the cold wind.

He walked to an open area and called Xu Zhixu. Xu Zhixu's voice came from the phone, with a hint of urgency and expectation.

"How is it? Did you find out anything?" Xu Zhixu asked, his tone revealing an eager anticipation.

The man was silent for a moment, then replied, "No, she really knows nothing about what Gu Jisui did." His voice was a little low, with a hint of helplessness.

"I understand." Xu Zhixu's voice was a little low, and he was obviously not surprised by the result.

"So what should we do next?" the man asked.

"Since we can't find any evidence against Gu Jisui, we can only threaten him." Xu Zhixu's voice was firm, and she seemed to have made up her mind.

The man nodded. "Leave it to me from now on."

At this moment, the lights in the villa were as bright as stars, but with a heavy atmosphere.
