CEO VS God

CEO VS God

Half an hour later, an ordinary domestically produced new energy vehicle silently slid into the gate of the Feng family mansion.

The car door opened, and a man dressed in a moon-white modified Tang suit, carrying an antique wooden box, slowly stepped out.

That was Gu Yanzhi.

Yu Jinli was already waiting at the door. When she saw him, she felt like she had seen a living bodhisattva who could save her from suffering. She almost kowtowed to him on the spot.

"Master! You've finally arrived!"

"The situation is urgent, no need for formalities." Gu Yanzhi smiled gently at her, a smile as refreshing as a spring breeze, instantly dispelling much of the gloom in Yu Jinli's heart.

He walked past her and his gaze fell directly on the man on the living room sofa, who exuded an aura of unapproachability.

In the living room, Feng Jinxuan had already changed out of his disheveled night clothes and put on a well-tailored silk robe.

He crossed his legs, leaning lazily against the sofa, a glass of red wine in his hand, which he swirled gently.

Boss, what are you doing? I've never seen you act this flamboyant before. Yu Jinli felt a headache coming on.

He looked at Gu Yanzhi as he walked in, his face expressionless, but his eyes were like two sharp scalpels, full of scrutiny and inquiry.

Two equally outstanding men, yet with completely opposite temperaments, met in mid-air.

One is as gentle and refined as jade, the other as cold and aloof as a mountain.

It was as if invisible lightning flashed through the air.

Yu Jinli, caught in the middle, felt like a mortal who had accidentally stumbled into a battle of gods, and dared not even breathe loudly.

"Mr. Gu, what brings you here so late at night?" Feng Jinxuan spoke first, breaking the silence.

His tone was flat, yet it carried an undisguised host's rejection of the uninvited guest.

Gu Yanzhi didn't care.

He placed the wooden box on the coffee table and calmly sat down on the sofa opposite Feng Jinxuan.

"I've been asked to come and resolve some... technical issues." He smiled, his gaze shifting to the glaring bandage on Yu Jinli's hand. "And, by the way, to check if my little friend has been bullied."

His phrase "my little friend" came out extremely naturally and affectionately.

Yu Jinli's cheeks suddenly felt hot for no reason.

Feng Jinxuan's knuckles turned slightly white as he held the wine glass.

“She is now my partner.” His voice turned colder. “I am responsible for her safety. Mr. Gu need not worry about it.”

"Is that so?" Gu Yanzhi pushed up his frameless glasses, and a sharp glint flashed in his eyes behind the lenses.

He looked at Feng Jinxuan and pointed out incisively, "Mr. Feng, are you aware that the technique you have been afflicted with is the long-lost 'Seven Fiends Soul Locking Technique'?"

Feng Jinxuan's pupils suddenly contracted.

Gu Yanzhi didn't give him time to react and continued gently, "This technique is insidious and intricate, with each step linked to the next. It seems it has already invaded your bones and blood."

"If you can't even protect yourself, how can you protect those around you?"

Feng Jinxuan's face darkened completely.

This was the first time someone had so easily and succinctly revealed his greatest secret and pointed out the name of the sorcery.

Yu Jinli also looked at Gu Yanzhi in shock.

Although she already knew that the expert was amazing, she never expected that he would be this amazing!

It's practically a walking X-ray machine!

"It seems my trip tonight wasn't in vain." Gu Yanzhi understood as he observed the two people's reactions.

Without further ado, he opened the antique wooden box.

The box did not contain the peach wood sword or yellow paper talisman that Yu Jinli had imagined.

Instead, they were rows of strange tools neatly arranged.

There was a metal disc shaped like a compass, but covered with precise markings; there were several fine needles of varying lengths, made of an unknown type of jade; and there was a bottle of red liquid in a crystal bottle, emitting a strange fragrance.

"This is a 'Demon-Breaking Liquid' made from cinnabar mixed with morning dew, and this is a 'Soul-Stabilizing Needle' that can stabilize the aura..." Gu Yanzhi explained to Yu Jinli one by one like a patient teacher. "As for breaking the restriction, we need to use this."

He took out a palm-sized Bagua mirror carved from sandalwood from the bottom of the box.

Feng Jinxuan frowned as he looked at those things that he couldn't understand at all.

As a staunch materialist, everything before him was challenging the limits of his understanding.

But as a shrewd businessman, he also keenly sensed that the man in front of him possessed the "core technology" he desperately needed.

“Mr. Gu,” he put down his wine glass, resuming his calm and rational CEO demeanor, “whatever you need, just say the word. Funding, equipment, manpower—as long as I can provide it, I can satisfy you.”

This is his usual way of solving all problems using business logic.

Gu Yanzhi smiled.

“Mr. Feng, there are some things that money can’t buy.” He looked at Feng Jinxuan, his eyes full of meaning. “For example, time. For example, luck. And for example…”

His gaze, seemingly casually, drifted towards Yu Jinli.

"...someone who can defy fate and change your destiny."

Feng Jinxuan's face darkened completely.

What he hates most is the feeling of being seen through and having no way to refute it.

Especially since it happened in front of Yu Jinli.

Yu Jinli was caught in the middle and felt very uncomfortable.

On one side is her savior and idol; on the other side is her boss and business partner.

We can't afford to offend either side.

She cleared her throat, trying to break the awkward silence.

"Um... Master, boss, I think we should first unify our thinking and unite against a common enemy?" she cautiously suggested. "After all, our common enemy is Feng Jinhong, right?"

Her words finally eased the tense atmosphere in the living room.

Gu Yanzhi looked at her, a hint of doting in his eyes.

"Koi is right. The most urgent task is to break the restrictions and obtain the evidence."

He turned to Feng Jinxuan, his tone softening.

"President Feng, there's no time to lose. Shall we set off now?"

Feng Jinxuan gave him a deep look, and finally nodded.

"Assistant Wang has already prepared the car outside."

The three set off again, heading towards the Feng family's old residence.

This time, the atmosphere inside the car was even more eerie than before.

Yu Jinli, sandwiched between two imposing men, felt like the filling in a sandwich, about to be squeezed into a paper doll. Assistant Wang, who was driving, kept his eyes straight ahead and adjusted his glasses.

Upon arriving at their destination, the three of them easily slipped into Feng Jinhong's study.

Gu Yan stepped forward and carefully examined the dark compartment that was emitting an ominous red light.

"It really is the 'Blood Curse Binding Spirit' technique." He frowned slightly. "The technique is very skillful. It seems that your cousin has a master guiding him."

He took out the sandalwood Bagua mirror from the wooden box, along with several jade needles and the bottle of "evil-dispelling liquid".

He carefully applied the cinnabar liquid to the surface of the Bagua mirror, and then inserted several jade needles into the walls around the hidden compartment in some peculiar positions.

“Koi,” he turned to Yu Jinli and said, “In a moment, I will use the Bagua Mirror to temporarily suppress the power of the restriction. But this process requires a pure source of luck as a guide. So, I need you to place your hand on the center of the mirror.”

“Me?” Yu Jinli pointed to herself.

“Yes.” Gu Yanzhi’s expression was very serious. “This process may be a little dangerous. You need to concentrate all your mind and slowly inject your luck into it. Remember, you must be slow and steady.”

"no!"

Feng Jinxuan, who had been silent all along, suddenly spoke up and resolutely refused.

“That’s too dangerous.” He looked at Yu Jinli, his eyes leaving no room for argument. “Let’s try another method.”

“There’s no other way.” Gu Yanzhi shook his head, his tone equally firm. “This is the only and safest way. With me here, nothing will happen to her.”

The two men confronted each other again over Yu Jinli's safety.

Yu Jinli looked at them, feeling a sense of helplessness.

What kind of time is this? Do these two big shots still have the mood to bicker over a girl? I am indeed an invincible and super cute beauty, but shouldn't you two consider the timing?

She took a deep breath, stepped forward, and placed her hand directly on the Bagua mirror that was covered with cinnabar.

"Stop arguing." She looked at the two of them, her eyes resolute. "I'm responsible for my own life. Let's begin."
