The most awkward fan meeting in history

The most awkward fan meeting in history

When Yu Jinli's voice trembled and her eyes welled with tears as she softly said, "Hello, Chase. My... idol," the entire dressing room seemed to be muted.

The air froze, and time stood still.

Feng Jinxuan felt that his mind went completely blank for a moment.

All his composure, all his pretense, all his business acumen crumbled and crumbled completely in the face of the girl's clear, unadulterated eyes, which were filled with complex emotions.

He was like a soldier whose armor had been stripped off in public, exposed naked in broad daylight, with all his scars and vulnerabilities laid bare.

He even subconsciously and stiffly took a half-step back.

Yu Jinli, however, did not give him any chance to escape.

After the initial emotional outburst, her brain resumed functioning at an astonishing speed.

Shocked? Heartbroken? Moved?

All of these are available.

But as a seasoned and pragmatic money-lover, the first question that popped into her mind was one with more practical implications:

My idol is now my boss, and he still owes me a large sum of investment money and dividends.

How am I supposed to ask him for money again?!

No way! Idols are idols, and business is business! We must clarify this serious issue today!

So, while Feng Jinxuan was still "petrified" on the spot, pondering whether to kill him to silence him or simply disappear on the spot, Yu Jinli had already grabbed the golden trophy and, as if it were a lifeline, scrambled to her feet.

She sniffed, wiped away her tears, and then, with her red, rabbit-like eyes, launched into her "ten thousand whys" in a complex tone that was unlike anything she had ever heard before—a mixture of the excitement of a fan meeting their idol and the seriousness of a creditor meeting their debtor.

"Great God! It really is you!" She looked at him with sparkling eyes, as if she were looking at a rare, luminous species. "Let me ask you the question I'm most curious about: Why did you suddenly retire back then? Were you tired of the hustle and bustle of the mortal world and went to the mountains to cultivate immortality? Or were you captured by aliens for research? Or... were you actually a superhero hiding your identity and going to save the world?"

Feng Jinxuan: "..."

Looking at the girl in front of him with her quirky thought process and unconventional ways of thinking, he felt like his CPU wasn't working properly.

He had imagined countless scenarios for what would happen if his identity were exposed.

He had imagined she would be shocked, angry, and question him about why he had kept it a secret.

He was even prepared to face her disdainful, inquisitive, or sympathetic gaze.

But he never expected her to react this way.

There were no questions, no anger, and not even the slightest displeasure at being "hidden."

There is only one kind... pure and unadulterated curiosity and concern that fans have for their idols.

He felt like a soldier bracing for a storm, all ready for battle, but instead, a bunch of... colorful cotton candies floated down from the sky.

It caught him completely off guard.

"And another thing," Yu Jinli continued, firing off a barrage of questions before he could even react, "In your 'high-rise descent' video, how did you manage to do a double somersault in the air and land so precisely in the last shot? That doesn't conform to Newton's Third Law! Did you secretly install an anti-gravity device on yourself?"

"And that 'wingsuit flight,' when you were flying through that narrow canyon less than two meters wide, what were you thinking? Weren't you afraid of crashing into the mountain and turning into a two-dimensional paper doll?"

Like a curious child, she poured out all the questions she had accumulated over the past three years, like beans spilling from a bamboo tube.

Their enthusiasm and familiarity made it seem as if they weren't just "revealing their true identities," but rather as old friends who had known each other for over a decade.

Feng Jinxuan was forced to retreat step by step by her questions.

He felt like he wasn't facing a subordinate, but rather... the most fervent and troublesome sasaeng fan.

For the first time, a crack appeared on his usually cold and indifferent face.

“These…” He cleared his throat, trying to regain the initiative, but his voice was a little dry, “They’re all in the past.”

"How can you let this go?" Yu Jinli persisted, clutching the trophy and taking another step closer to him, tilting her head back with a gossipy glint in her eyes. "One last question! Just one last one!"

"You...you're so unlucky now, is it because you leaked too much 'yang energy' when you were doing extreme sports back then, causing some kind of irreversible 'mystical aftereffect'?"

She even found a very "professional" reason for his misfortune.

Feng Jinxuan was completely speechless.

He looked at the girl's cheeks, slightly flushed with excitement, and her eyes, sparkling with adoration.

The heaviness, pain, and anger that had risen in his heart because the secret had been revealed were, unknowingly, diluted considerably by her nonsensical "interview."

Instead, he felt a kind of helplessness that he himself was unaware of, a feeling that was both laughable and lamentable.

He realized that he wasn't as angry as he had imagined.

There was even a hint of... eerie ease.

It was as if he had finally found a way to confide his heavy secret, which he had carried for three years, a way that, while not entirely reliable, was exceptionally warm.

He looked at her and remained silent for a long time.

In the end, they gave up the fight and were defeated.

“No,” he replied somewhat stiffly, “it has nothing to do with that.”

"Oh..." Yu Jinli nodded thoughtfully, then her expression turned serious as if she remembered something.

She carefully placed the trophy she was holding on the cabinet beside her, then cleared her throat and said in a businesslike tone:

"Alright, Chase, the fan meeting segment is over. Now, let's get down to business."

Feng Jinxuan: "?"

“Mr. Feng,” she looked at him earnestly, “as your partner and special assistant, I believe I have the right to know the truth about your past experiences. This is not just to satisfy my curiosity, but also to allow us to better assess future risks and develop more comprehensive operational plans.”

"Therefore, please confess and you will be treated leniently; resist and you will be punished severely."

As Feng Jinxuan watched her switch roles so quickly, he felt his temples throbbing.

He took a deep breath, just about to brush it off with "This is my private matter".

Yu Jinli, however, seemed to have seen through his thoughts and preemptively used her "trump card".

She pointed to herself, then to him, her expression sorrowful.

“Boss, don’t forget, we are now a ‘community of destiny’. Your past is my future. Your secrets are my time bombs.”

She clutched her chest, her face filled with grief.

"What if one day your enemy comes knocking and accidentally hurts me? Wouldn't that be so unfair to me?"

“It doesn’t matter if I die, but what about my 100 million yuan insurance payout, and my shares in ‘Koi is Here’…”

Feng Jinxuan: "...Stop."

He felt his blood pressure was about to spike if he listened any longer.

Looking at the girl in front of him, who was so eloquent and made "taking advantage" sound so elegant and refined, he felt for the first time what it meant to be "powerless".

He discovered that all his pride in his composure and rationality were utterly useless in front of her.

He closed his eyes briefly, and when he opened them again, much of the coldness in them had melted away.

Only one thing remained, one that even he himself hadn't realized: indulgence and helplessness.

"Want to know?"

"Yes!" Yu Jinli nodded like a chick pecking at rice.

"Okay." The man took a deep breath, as if he had made up his mind. "Come with me."

He didn't look at the box again, turned around and walked out of the dressing room.

"I'll take you to see someone."
