Chapter 33

Chapter 33

Since the day I joined the police force, all my seniors have always told me to put my own life and the safety of the public first.

Sometimes, saving a person is more important than catching a murderer.

But now, Lin Anyu made the opposite request.

"Why?" Jiang Aichen asked calmly.

"Because..." Lin Anyu laughed at himself, "I don't want to live that much."

After saying this, without waiting for Jiang Aichen and the others to react, Lin Anyu walked away gracefully.

At the end, she didn't forget to say hello: "Jiang Nan, let's go."

Jiang Nan came to his senses and quickly got into the back seat after knowing that Jiang Aichen and Gu Bei were saying goodbye.

Lin Anyu, who had already been sitting in the car, stared at Jiang Aichen and the others outside the car. When she heard the door close, she came back to her senses and said, "Sit tight."

Jiang Nan nodded: "Yeah."

For the whole day, Lin Anyu took Jiang Nan around Beihai several times, but still couldn't find the "mother-in-law" who took Su Cheng to the hospital for a prenatal check-up as the nurse mentioned.

I originally thought that I could find some clues about the "mother-in-law" by going to Su Cheng's aunt's house, but after searching around, I didn't find any clues at all.

The night was gradually getting dark. Lin Anyu parked her car casually on the side of the road in a shopping mall. She pinched her nose and looked tired.

She leaned on the driver's seat, closed her eyes, and asked Jiang Nan in the car: "Have you found out the company where the deceased's uncle worked?"

Jiang Nan answered obediently: "I found out. Su Cheng's uncle is engaged in vegetable transportation. He needs to get up early and take vegetables from Beihai to Zecheng to sell. He usually returns home at nine o'clock in the evening."

"It is basically consistent with what Su Pannan said."

Lin Anyu closed his eyes and continued to ask: "How is the DNA test of the deceased and Su Pannan going?"

Jiang Nan quickly replied: "God Pei said it would take at least half an hour."

"Okay, then we'll wait for him here." As he said this, Lin Anyu yawned.

Before he could yawn, Lin Anyu, who had just opened his eyes, noticed a familiar figure.

He has a slender figure and is wearing a neat sporty outfit, which makes his overall temperament clean and neat.

He was holding a bouquet of flowers in his arms and walking at a leisurely pace.

Lin Anyu anxiously unbuckled his seat belt and tried to catch up.

Jiang Nan hurriedly asked, "Lin Anyu, where are you going?"

Lin Anyu stood outside the car, his arm resting on the top of the door, and ordered: "Don't move in the car."

The seriousness on his face frightened Jiang Nan for a moment, and he nodded stupidly.

Then, Lin Anyu ran towards the figure of that person with a "bang".

Although Jiang Nan was confused, he still followed Lin Anyu's instructions and stayed in the car obediently.

Lin Anyu carefully concealed his figure and kept his eyes fixed on the man.

She followed the man around the entrance of the mall again and again.

Just when she thought she had hidden well enough, someone patted her shoulder from behind.

He smiled kindly, "How did Officer Lin have time to follow me today? Isn't the police station busy?"

Even though her tracking was discovered, Lin Anyu was not panicked at all. Instead, she leaned against the wall leisurely.

She did not answer his question directly, but said: "Given your crime, you will not be released after serving your sentence for three years."

Although the man was confused, he still smiled confidently: "Hmm?"

"I gave you three years, and you didn't turn yourself in," Lin Anyu sneered, "It seems like you really think I'm dead."

The man smiled faintly: "Officer Lin?"

"My last name is Song," Lin Anyu knew that he was pretending to be stupid in front of her, so she seriously corrected him, "My name is Song Luo."

-

Jiang Nan had been waiting in the car outside the mall for nearly an hour, but Lin Anyu still hadn't come out.

Jiang Nan walked out of the car and planned to go into the mall to look for it.

It was nearly nine o'clock in the evening, and the colleagues who had been working overtime in the police station had already gone off work. If they didn't hurry back, this official car would probably not be able to drive into the police station.

As soon as Jiang Nan walked into the mall, he saw the entrance to a staircase was full of people again.

He didn't want to be curious, but he heard the crowd's discussion.

"You didn't see it just now, this little girl is really amazing, she took off the man's arm with one hand."

"Why did she suddenly remove someone's arm?"

"I don't know, maybe they had an argument."

Remove the arm?

Quarrel?

Jiang Nan seemed to understand something silently, and he quickly pushed through the crowd: "Make way, make way, I'm the person involved's brother."

Hearing what he said, the crowd of onlookers dispersed instantly, leaving a path for him.

Jiang Nan squeezed into the middle of the crowd and saw Lin Anyu, one of the parties involved.

However, unlike what he expected, she did not hold the other person's arm and look aggressive.

Instead, he slumped in the corner with his eyes closed, as if he was asleep.

Standing next to him was a thin man. He was so thin that his cheeks were sunken, and there were dark circles around his eyes that circled his eyes for more than ten circles. His lips were pale and bloodless.

He held his right shoulder in pain and said to the police who had arrived at some point, "I really don't know her. She twisted my arm right away."

The policeman didn’t listen to his explanation: “Stop, what’s your name?”

The man answered painfully: "Chu Yinbo."

"Why did she remove your arm for no reason?" the policeman asked. "Did you have any quarrel before she removed your arm?"

"No." Chu Yinbo said, "I was just sitting in the elevator and she suddenly rushed over to me."

"How did she faint?" the police continued to ask.

"When she held my arm, she kept saying things like 'Don't come out, don't come out', and I didn't understand what she meant. Then she suddenly took my arm off, and then she fainted," Chu Yinbo pointed at Lin Anyu in the corner and said, "She is sitting there peacefully now, and I had to help her over."

The police officer who came to mediate said, "Okay, if there is anything, wait until she wakes up. The doctor will be here soon. You can reattach her arm first, and then go to the police station to record your statement."

Chu Yanbo seemed a little reluctant and said, "Forget about the confession. She was not injured, but I sprained my arm. Overall, I suffered a loss. Forget it, I won't go to the police station. I don't want to make a fuss about it."

The policeman pointed at Chu Yinbo's arm and asked, "What about your arm?"

"I can go to the hospital and reconnect it myself. It's just a dislocation, nothing else." Chu Yanbo said.

Since the victim had said so, the police officer could not say anything else: "Keep in touch at all times. If there is anything we need to ask you, our police station will contact you again."

"Okay." Chu Yanbo agreed readily, "Then you go ahead and do your work. I'll go to the hospital and get my arm reattached."

"Okay," said the policeman.

The main people left, and the people around were almost evacuated by several policemen who were there to maintain order.

Jiang Nan stepped forward and said, "Hello, comrade. She is my sister. I am here to pick her up."

The policeman looked at him in disbelief and asked, "Are you his brother?"

"right."

The policeman said, "Your sister just took off someone's arm."

If it was before, Jiang Nan would definitely not believe that Lin Anyu could break someone's arm with his bare hands.

But it just so happened that she had just cut off someone's arm in order to catch a criminal a week ago.

Unload now.

It seems there is nothing strange about it.

Jiang Nan pointed to his temple and said, "She has had a head injury, and sometimes her movements are out of control."

"Then you, as family members, should keep a closer eye on her," the policeman scolded.

"Yes, yes, yes."

Jiang Nan hastily agreed, fearing that it was too late and this "colleague" in front of him would take Lin Anyu to the police station again.

"Fortunately, the person whose arm was removed didn't care this time, otherwise, your sister would have been sued."

"Yes, yes, yes." Jiang Nan nodded immediately.

"OK."

No complaint means no guilt. Since the person involved is unwilling to be held accountable, the police cannot pursue the matter on their own.

The police officer continued, "Leave your contact information and take your sister back. We will contact you if there is anything else."

"Okay." Jiang Nan agreed and immediately took the registration book handed over by a female police officer next to him.

He wrote down everything one by one before handing the notebook back.

-

After Jiang Nan carried Lin Anyu back into the car, he sat in the driver's seat and started playing games.

An unknown amount of time had passed, but Lin Anyu, who was lying on the back seat where Jiang Nan had placed him, shivered from the cold.

She opened her eyes and looked around unfamiliarly.

Jiang Nan, who was playing games, noticed her movements and said without even looking up, "Are you awake? Tell me, why did you break someone's arm again? If I hadn't been there, you would have been arrested by your colleagues from the neighborhood office and taken to the police station again."

Remove the arm?

Go to the Public Security Bureau?

She was clearly just taking a nap, so why did she break the man's arm?

And...where is this place?

Is her memory missing again?

Seeing that Lin Anyu didn't respond for a long time, Jiang Nan quickly put away his phone.

He turned around from the driver's seat and asked with concern: "Are you okay?"

Hearing the familiar voice, Lin Anyu immediately stood up.

She leaned over the back of the driver's seat and said, "Jiang Nan, have I been acting weird all day?"

Jiang Nan was startled by her sudden approach. He leaned back and made a puzzled sound: "Huh?"

Lin Anyu stared into his eyes and nodded solemnly: "Yes."

Jiang Nan thought carefully about what happened today and said, "It's okay. You just recovered your memory and it's normal for you to show your previous personality."

“That’s not too strange.”

Lin Anyu seemed to have grasped the key point: "I have recovered my memory? Song..."

Before he could utter the next word, Lin Anyu swallowed the sensitive name back.

Lin Anyu reorganized his words: "I told you personally today that I had recovered my memory?"

Jiang Nan: “Yes.”

"What else did she say?" Lin Anyu asked anxiously.

Jiang Nan thought about it carefully: "He didn't say much, just talked about some clues and solving the case."

Lin Anyu continued to probe: "Did she say who she was?"

"Huh?" Jiang Nan realized something was wrong. "She? Isn't she you?"

"She is not me." Lin Anyu blurted out.

Jiang Nan: “Hmm?”

For a moment, Lin Anyu didn't know how to explain the fact that he had another personality without telling him that he was sick.

Lin Anyu anxiously thought of a wording: "That's right, she is the me who has my memories before I lost my memory."

"So you now have no memory of your past." Jiang Nan suddenly realized.

Lin Anyu nodded: "Yes."

"You mean you have split personality disorder?"

Lin Anyu nodded: "Yes."

Jiang Nan didn't know whether he believed Lin Anyu's words or not. He nonchalantly hooked his fingers near his temple and said, "So... how long has your hypochondriasis lasted?"

Lin Anyu: “Hmm?”

"How can a normal person suspect that he or she has schizophrenia?" Jiang Nan's expression became serious and he concluded, "Unless she is really sick!"

"And it is the most severe form of neurosis—hypochondriasis."

Lin Anyu: ...
