"Because, like the Empress, she doesn't want the Second Prince to receive his father's support?" she guessed.
It's understandable that mother and daughter are of one mind.
"Because she liked Prince Anzheng."
Xiao Chen's voice, as cold as ice, carried a hint of sarcasm and mockery.
Qin Yi glanced at him coolly, thinking, "Mind your own business."
Nan Qianyue's eyes visibly widened, almost staring wide open. She looked at Qin Yi with a mixture of surprise, curiosity, and amusement. "An incestuous relationship!"
Qin Yi frowned, a bad feeling creeping in. "What do you mean?"
Nanqianyue excitedly explained, "It's a romantic relationship between opposite sexes who are related by blood, like siblings. Yours is an uncle-niece relationship. Although it's not as exciting as a sibling relationship, it's still quite thrilling because it happened to someone as boring, domineering, cold-blooded, and bloodthirsty as you."
“Exciting…” Qin Yi uttered these two words, his eyes gradually darkening. He stared at Nan Qianyue’s excited eyes and said in a deep voice, “You used the wrong word. There is no word ‘love’ in it. My heart has always been with you.”
“And another thing,” he said, reaching out to pinch Nan Qianyue’s cheek and squeezing it in, “put away your smile. Someone is coveting this king; you should be angry.”
Nan Qianyue blinked, grabbed his hand, and glared at him unhappily. "Unreasonable. What I think is my business. Even the police in the Pacific don't interfere as much as you."
Qin Yi could basically understand what she was saying, and his expression darkened again. "One of the conditions is that when I'm unhappy, you must coax me..."
"What are you trying to coax me for!" Nan Qianyue slapped his arm. "Even a child isn't as petty as you. You're such a big person, is your heart only this tiny bit big?!"
She tucked her five fingers together.
Qin Yi smiled instead of getting angry, "It's big enough to hold you."
"Ugh." Nan Qianyue pretended to vomit. "Don't pretend, I'm afraid I'll get crushed to death."
"If it's just you, who would squeeze you?"
"You're petty, of course it's crowded!"
The two seemed to be arguing, but it wasn't really arguing; it was more like they were flirting.
The other two people by the fire were being battered by a storm, with lightning flashing overhead, and their once fervent hearts were gradually losing their warmth.
During the latter half of the night, I dared not sleep during my southward migration, and forced myself to stay awake, even though my head felt like a chicken pecking at rice.
Three pairs of eyes were fixed on her, fearing that she might accidentally fall into the fire.
In the end, Qin Yi, who was closest to her, moved closer to her and pressed her head against his shoulder.
During the southward migration, he didn't refuse the pillow that was delivered to his door; as soon as the pillow touched him, his eyes closed.
As dawn broke, the rain finally stopped.
Qin Yi ignored everyone, including Nan Qianyue's resistance, and picked her up, half walking and half flying towards the outside of the mountain.
The southward migration, which had been struggling just moments before, quieted down because of Qin Yi's words.
"It just rained, and there's mud everywhere."
Southward Migration Moon: ...Then let's just hold him.
"My lord, shall we continue to follow Miss Nan?" Li Bing asked cautiously.
Xiao Chen immediately shot him a cold, icy glare, his voice crackling with icy intensity, "Choose between dying and protecting her."
Li Bing looked terrified, straightened his back, and bowed deeply to Xiao Chen, saying, "Your subordinate swears to protect Miss Nan with his life! Farewell, my lord!"
After speaking, Li Bing led his guards and dashed out of the woods.
"Heh, even if Qianqian has feelings for you, there's no way you two can be together. Besides, she has no feelings for you." Xie Yanzhou stepped forward and stood next to Xiao Chen, looking in the direction Nan Qianyue had left.
Xiao Chen's eyes darkened, and he sneered, "It's none of our business what happens between Nan Nan and me."
He will never let go.
The Prime Minister's Residence.
The Southern Migration Yue rushed directly to Luhua Courtyard, leaving the gatekeepers, servants, maids, and old women stunned.
The young lady is back!
"Mother? Mother!"
"Qianyue!" The Prime Minister excitedly greeted Nan Qianyue. "My dear daughter, you've finally returned safely! Prince Anzheng sent someone to say you got caught in the rain last night and stayed at a temple on Hengyang Mountain. Your father was worried sick—"
"Father, don't say anything more, let me go see Mother first!" Nan Qianyue pushed Nan Xiang aside and rushed into the bedroom.
Nan Xiang stopped her, saying, "Qian Yue, wait a minute. Your mother is resting. Come and see her when she wakes up. Granny Wang has prepared a medicinal bath for you. Go and soak in it to get rid of the cold."
"Then I'll just take a quiet look and won't disturb Mother." Nan Qianyue tried to walk around Nan Xiang into the house.
But Nan Xiang was unusually persistent, refusing to let her in, and stood in a starfish position blocking the doorway.
Nan Qianyue looked at Nan Xiang suspiciously, "Father, is Mother injured?"
Nan Xiang's expression was a mixture of distress and pain, with a hint of anger. "...He's not injured. He's really resting."
"Then let me in to take a look." Nan Qianyue wasn't stupid; her father's reaction was enough to prove that her mother's condition was not good.
"Let her in." Suddenly, the Prime Minister's wife's weary and restrained voice came from inside the room.
Nan Xiang turned his face away, almost bursting into tears, and slowly withdrew his hands and feet.
Nan Qianyue stared at Nan Xiang's reaction for a few seconds before walking into the house.
Behind the plain-colored curtain, the faint projection of a slightly bulging human figure on the bed appears extremely frail and weak. Nan Qianyue pulls back the curtain and walks in.
The Prime Minister's wife had her back to her.
"Mother, are you alright?" Nan Qianyue squatted down in front of the bed.
After a long silence, the Prime Minister's wife forced a cheerful tone and said, "Mother is fine. It's good that you're back safely. If you still have the energy, go see your sister."
Nan Qianyue pursed her lips, feeling that her mother was acting strangely. She slowly reached out and placed her hand on the Prime Minister's wife's shoulder, but as soon as she touched her, her body trembled twice.
When the mother moved south, she felt a pang of panic; her mother's reaction was definitely not normal.
"Mother, I'm sorry." Nan Qianyue stood up, put her arms around the Prime Minister's wife's shoulders, and forcibly straightened her up.
