The moon, which had been moving south, looked at the monster in the prison cell.
They really looked like monsters, having been tortured to the point of being completely unrecognizable.
When the Southern Migration Month came to mind, Zhong Xing's evil deeds arose in his heart with anger.
She pointed at Zhong Xing and yelled, "What are you yelling about, you death row inmate!"
Zhong Xing's limbs and neck were bound by iron chains, and when he saw Nan Qianyue, he pounced on her like a madman.
He cursed hysterically, "You deserve to die! You'll die sooner or later! You'll die without a burial place!"
Unfortunately, his internal energy was neutralized, and he could only be chained up like a dog, unable to break free no matter how much he struggled.
Qin Yi gave the jailers a look, and immediately two men opened the cell and gave Zhong Xing a brutal beating.
"Let's go." Qin Yi pulled Nan Qianyue along and continued walking forward.
Almost in the innermost cell, Uncle Yan sat cross-legged on a straw mat, his body covered in wounds.
"Uncle Yan?"
The jailer was opening the cell door when Nan Qianyue, holding a hemlock, called out to someone inside.
Yan Bo opened his eyes, looked at Nan Qianyue who had walked in, and a smile appeared on his weathered face.
He praised, "Miss Nan is becoming more and more beautiful."
Nan Qianyue felt a pang of sadness in her heart, but on the surface she smiled charmingly, "Uncle Yan is the most appreciative."
She took the food box from the woman in green and went into the cell.
While setting out the food, he said, "Uncle Yan, they should have told you that they'll let you out in a few days. Just bear with it for a few more days, okay?"
Yan Bo smiled gently, "I have to thank Miss Nan. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have survived. And now you've brought so much food to see me. I can never repay your kindness in my lifetime."
Nan Qianyue handed him the chopsticks, saying, "Ye Jian was worried about you and asked me to come and check on you. He also asked me to buy these foods, saying they are your favorite dishes."
Yan Bo paused, his hand, which was outstretched in mid-air, and a strange light flashed in his eyes.
"Uncle Yan?" Nan Qianyue tilted her head.
Uncle Yan relaxed and smiled as he took the chopsticks. "He's thoughtful."
“Yes.” Nan Qianyue rested her chin on her hand. “Although Ye Jian is not very talkative and looks like a block of wood, he is actually very thoughtful and a person who values relationships and loyalty.”
"Look, he even bought you some wine!" Nanqianyue opened the wine seal, and the aroma of the wine wafted out.
She poured Uncle Yan a full glass and placed it in front of him.
Seeing Yan Boguang smiling at the food but not touching his chopsticks, he smiled and urged, "Eat, Uncle Yan, or it will get cold."
Uncle Yan touched the corner of his eye, blinked a few times, picked up a piece of sliced pork knuckle and put it in his mouth. He chewed it heartily and mumbled, "Delicious!"
He picked up his glass again, paused for a moment, as if he were saying something to himself, and then drank it all in silence.
The southward migration was seen as an act of reverence for heaven and earth, but Yan Bo was clearly a person who followed the rules of etiquette.
"This wine smells wonderful! I'll drink with you!"
Nanqian Yue excitedly poured himself a glass and then filled Yan Bo's glass as well.
He raised his glass to him, "Uncle Yan, let's have a toast!"
Yan Bo naturally took her wine glass and said with a smile, "This wine is strong and not suitable for you."
Nanqianyue pouted, "I'll just have a sip; it's no fun if you drink alone."
Standing at the door, Qin Yi spoke calmly, "You can't drink, don't force yourself."
"Who's being stubborn!" Nan Qianyue reached out to snatch the wine glass back.
She wanted to prove she wasn't a newbie.
However, Yan Bo reacted quickly, tilting his head back and drinking the wine.
He chuckled and said, "Ye Jian is too stingy, he only bought such a small pot, Miss Nan, don't try to take it from me."
Nan Qianyue glared at Uncle Yan, "Uncle Yan is even stingier than Ye Jian. He won't even share a drop of wine with me."
Yan Bo ate his food with a smile, "The Hundred Flowers Wine from Wanhua Tower is mild in alcohol, has a sweet taste, and its aroma can travel for miles. It's perfect for Miss Nan."
Nanqianyue thought for a moment, then said, "I know, I drank that before, wasn't it in a white jade bottle?"
Uncle Yan nodded, chewing on his meat.
Nanqianyue, chin in hand, said expectantly, "I'll have someone buy some as soon as I get back today, and then I'll have someone bring a few bottles for Uncle Yan!"
Uncle Yan paused in his chopsticks, his eyes slightly moist, but he quickly suppressed his emotions. "I just like drinking strong liquor."
Nan Qianyue glanced at Yan Bo's injuries and said, "I won't buy you any more strong liquor. I'll buy it for you once your injuries have healed. Logically speaking, you shouldn't have drunk this pot of liquor at all."
Uncle Yan immediately clutched the wine jug to his chest, saying, "We can't take back what's been delivered."
Nanqianyue chuckled, "I won't steal it, but Uncle Yan, you'd better apply the medicine properly."
...By the time the moon rose after the southward migration, it was already past Shen Shi (3-5 PM).
We can have dinner when we get back!
"Move!"
Nanqianyue paused in her steps, turned around and saw Xie Yanzhou running over in his official robes.
"Xie Yanzhou? Do you have official business here?"
Xie Yanzhou stood in front of her, his eyes and brows filled with a joyful smile. "Yes, I sent over a few well-trained guards. What are you doing here?"
He completely ignored Qin Yi, who was standing next to Nan Qianyue.
Nanqian Yuexia pointed to the prison cell, "I came to visit a friend in the prison."
Xie Yanzhou didn't ask any more questions, mainly because he wasn't interested. He said expectantly, "I've finished dealing with my business. Come have dinner with me."
"Don't forget you still owe me a meal, okay?"
Nanqianyue was a little troubled. "But... my sister cooked dinner tonight, and she asked me a lot about my dietary restrictions and preferences. She'll be disappointed if I'm not there."
Xie Yanzhou was already disappointed.
He lowered his eyes slightly, concealing his disappointment. "Alright, then I can take you home, right?"
Just as Nanqian Yue was about to speak, Qin Yi pulled her away.
"Huh?? Huh!!"
