Chapter 159 He's Not Dead (shuhaige.net)

The dark-skinned man clasped his hands towards Nan Yichu and said, "I'm sorry, Young Master Nan. I'm used to being in the army, and this is my first time driving a carriage in the capital. I didn't control my strength well. Did I frighten you?"

Nan Yichu instantly lost his temper, instead tilting his head back and pretending to be calm, saying, "How could the mere vibration of the carriage scare me? I just got off to remind you to be more careful when driving next time, and not to be so impolite!"

The black man chuckled foolishly, "Young Master Nan is right, I will definitely pay attention next time."

Seeing his sincere attitude, Nan Yichu waved him away, saying, "If you know you're wrong, hurry up and leave. I'm in a hurry to get to the academy."

The dark-skinned man didn't move, but instead grinned foolishly at the carriage of the Prime Minister's residence.

Nan Yichu noticed his gaze and assumed the black man wanted to offend her older sister, so she took off her shoe and held it above her head, saying, "What are you looking at! Believe me or not, I'll beat you to death with the sole of my shoe!"

The dark-skinned man waved his hand. "No, I'm here to invite Miss Nan to move to the carriage at the front. Young Master Nan, please don't—"

"What did you say?!" Nan Yichu pointed her shoe at the black man, her hand trembling with anger.

In broad daylight, this rude black man actually tried to grope my older sister in his carriage?!

"I'm going to beat you to death today, you lecherous scoundrel!"

Nan Yichu jumped more than a meter high with her shoe in hand and slapped the black man hard!

The black man reacted quickly, grabbing Nan Yichu's hand that was holding the shoes with one hand and his belt with the other.

Nan Yichu, suspended in mid-air: "..." This is very insulting.

When the southward migration month was over, the curtain was lifted and the younger brother was being lifted up in the air like a child.

Her gaze settled on the dark-skinned man's face, and she raised an eyebrow. "Wang Agou?"

The dark-skinned man turned his head at the sound, revealing eight gleaming white teeth as he smiled, "Miss Nan, it's been a long time."

Nan Yichu turned her head from side to side, "You two know each other?"

Wang Agou quickly put him down, straightened his belt, and apologized with his arms clasped, "I have offended Young Master Nan. I hope Young Master Nan will forgive me."

Nan Yichu awkwardly turned her head away, "No, it's nothing."

Something's happened, it's incredibly embarrassing.

"Miss Nan, please come this way." Wang Agou grinned, bent over at an angle, and gestured for her to come closer.

Nanqianyue raised her chin. "Is someone inside?"

Wang Agou laughed even more foolishly, "Miss Nan is intelligent."

The moon was pursed as it moved south; was it really necessary to make such a fuss over a simple meeting?

"Little brother, you go to the academy first, don't worry about me." She jumped off the carriage.

Nan Yichu tugged at her sleeve, "Big sister, who is that? Is he reliable?"

Nanqianyue patted him on the shoulder, "Your idol."

She rolled up her sleeves and walked toward the carriage in front.

Nan Yichu stood there stunned for a long time. What is an idol?

By the time he realized what was happening, the carriage in front had already driven away.

"Oh no! Father told me to stay close to my eldest sister and not let her leave alone with other people!" Nan Yichu slapped her forehead in frustration.

He belatedly jumped onto the carriage, shouting, "Quick! Catch up with that carriage ahead!"

Wang Agou drove very fast, and the ride inside was somewhat bumpy.

Nan Qianyue looked speechlessly at the man sitting as steady as a mountain. "Could you ask him to slow down a bit?"

Instead of answering, Qin Yi asked, "Are you feeling better? Are you still dizzy?"

Nan Qianyue glanced at him coldly, "Are your bodyguards surveillance cameras, reporting everything to you?"

Qin Yi's eyelid twitched. "Have you forgotten who took you home?"

Nan Qianyue looked at him strangely, "Xie Yanzhou, I don't believe the secret guards didn't tell you."

The air pressure inside the car is very low.

Qin Yi pointed to his shoulder, even lifting his chin which was covered in red marks, "You bit me several times, and you tore my clothes, and you don't remember anything?"

Nanqianyue was stunned; wasn't that just a dream she had?

In her dream, she tore Qin Yi apart with abandon...

Was it not a dream after all?

"Cough cough..." Nan Qianyue suddenly felt uncomfortable in her throat and kept coughing. After coughing for a while, she pressed her temples and said softly, "My head is still a little dizzy, and I can't remember anything."

Qin Yi's lips curved into a subtle smile, knowing better but saying nothing.

"I'll take you to see someone," he said gently.

As the moon rose from its southern slope, she looked up and asked, "Who is it?"

Qin Yi, “Yan Bo, a spy from Nanjing.”

Nanqianyue looked dazed, and the color in her eyes gradually darkened.

She lowered her head, concealing the sadness in her eyes. "I... I can't bear to look. I handed him the poison myself. I killed him... I have no face to see Uncle Yan."

Qin Yi held her hand; it was very cold.

He gently comforted you, "You went with good intentions. The poison has nothing to do with you. Uncle Yan knows this and won't blame you."

Nanqianyue turned her face away, not wanting to show the tears in her eyes. "Did you have someone bury Uncle Yan? Did you erect a tombstone? If it was a wooden tombstone, then I will replace it with a larger one and build Uncle Yan a mausoleum."

"He doesn't need it yet," Qin Yi said calmly.

“The person is dead, how can they be of no use? You can’t bear to part with them, but I can.” Nan Qianyue’s voice choked with emotion, her eyes glistening with tears.

Qin Yi smiled and gently wiped the corner of her eye with his fingertip. "He's not dead. Since he's alive, he's naturally not needed."

He froze, his pupils seemingly frozen in place.

Qin Yi pinched her cheek. "It's true. I had someone change the food box."

Nanqianyue slowly opened her mouth, "Huh?"

Seeing her dazed expression, Qin Yi couldn't help but laugh. "Do you remember when I handed the food box to Qingyi at the prison gate?"

Nanqianyue rolled her eyes around and nodded blankly.

Qin Yi continued, "Qingyi switched the food box and served the wine and dishes to Uncle Yan. The food contained only the medicine that caused his apparent death, not any real poison."
