Chapter 196 Finally Saved

Nan Qianyue turned around, her gaze filled with disgust. "I will not go with you."

The man sneered, "Then don't leave."

Under Nan Qianyue's astonished gaze, he nocked an arrow and aimed it at her, saying viciously, "My elder brother was killed just for saying one wrong word. My lord is truly ruthless for your sake."

“A scourge like you deserves to die. Staying in this world will only harm more people.”

Nanqianyue clenched her fingers and took a small step back.

Suddenly, the man put down his bow and arrow, staring at her with amusement. "Your looks and figure are indeed alluring. No wonder the lord went to such lengths to get you."

"Since you're about to go down, why don't you give me a taste? I'll make you die between my legs, how about that?"

Nan Qianyue was disgusted. "Shameless! Aren't you afraid Xiao Chen will kill you too?"

The man took off his bow and arrows and threw them on the ground. With a wicked, murky smile, he approached Nan Qianyue. "After I kill you, I'll bury you in the mud. Who will know?"

The southward migration continued to retreat, "Everything leaves a trace, you're courting death!"

The man's wicked smile widened as he quickened his pace and rushed southward towards the moon.

As soon as it turned to run south, it didn't dare to look back and ran as fast as it could.

She only realized something was wrong when she was completely exhausted.

There was still no movement behind me?

She looked back and, sure enough, the man was nowhere to be seen.

Just as she was wondering, a black figure flew down in front of her.

As the southward migration month approached, a voice came from behind, saying, "Miss, it's me."

"Li Bing?"

Nanqianyue didn't know whether to be happy or sad. This person was trustworthy, but he just happened to be Xiao Chen's man.

"You've been following me in the shadows the whole time?" she asked, frowning.

Li Bing nodded, "Yes."

A mocking smile flickered across Nan Qianyue's lips. So, it turned out she had been under Xiao Chen's surveillance the whole time.

“If you’re here to take me to Nanjing, then let me tell you, I absolutely will not cooperate.” Her eyes were sharp as blades.

A hint of inner conflict flickered in Li Bing's eyes. Finally, he made up his mind, took a dagger from his waistband, and handed it to her. "Take this, for self-defense."

Nanqianyue looked at him suspiciously, "What do you mean by this?"

Li Bing solemnly said, "I couldn't keep an eye on you, nor could I find you."

Nan Qianyue understood; he was letting her go. "If Xiao Chen knew you were letting me go, would he kill you?"

Li Bing forced a slight smile. "I just couldn't keep an eye on you, not let you go."

Nan Qianyue smiled, took the dagger, and said, "Thanks. I'll repay you when I have the chance."

She waved to Li Bing, then turned and continued running.

The sun was high in the sky, and the old woman and a bearded man hid behind the hillside.

A hundred meters in front of the two men was a troop of soldiers from the Eastern Mausoleum.

The bearded man said in a low voice, "The Prince of Anzheng acted so quickly. They must have detained the sentries, otherwise there would have been more information. Even if we find Miss Nan before him, we might not be able to escape."

The old woman looked anxious. "But we have to take a chance. Right now, we should find Miss Nan first."

Suddenly, a rustling sound came from the woods behind them. Before they could react, several large dogs pounced on them.

"Woof woof woof..."

The two men raised their knives to slash at the dog, but they were no match for the flying arrows.

Within a few breaths, the man in green led his men to capture the two men.

Qin Yi, mounted on horseback, looked down at the two men on the ground, his cold voice falling, "If anything happens to her, you will pay with your lives."

Having said that, he rode away.

On the other side, Nanqianyue finally ran out of the forest. She looked around, hoping to find a family to ask for directions.

But the surrounding area was desolate, without even a single field.

Nan Qianyue sighed in relief. The continuous running had exhausted her energy, and she needed to sit down and rest for a while. Otherwise, if she encountered danger, she wouldn't even have the ability to fight back.

She found a large rock, leaned against it to rest, and the rock also provided shelter for her body.

In her dazed state, she heard footsteps.

She instantly snapped back to reality and tensed up.

"Sigh, I haven't gained anything during this period. What rich person would come here?"

"That's right, we haven't even met a pretty girl. Stone Village is full of country bumpkins. The eldest brother doesn't like them, and neither do we."

"Stop babbling, or the general will come and wipe out our base."

"Yes, why would they come to a place like this? Could it be that the imperial court is going to wipe us out?"

Hiding behind the rock, Nanqianyue covered her mouth tightly. Could they be bandits?!

And the officer they mentioned, could it be someone Qin Yi brought?

"Shh, look over there." A thin, dark-skinned man with a pointed chin pointed to a rock to the left.

The others looked in the direction he pointed and saw a pink skirt peeking out from beside a rock as tall as a person.

The group of men exchanged a sly smile, then bent over and moved behind the rock.

The southward-migrating moon was puzzled: why was there no sound?

"Hey! Little sister, what are you doing here all alone? Are you lost?"

Four misshapen gourds and cracked dates surrounded the southward-migrating moon.

Nanqianyue sprang to her feet, staring warily at the four men. "Get out of my way! Or I'll kill you all!"

The one-eyed man grinned wickedly, "She's a sassy little fairy, how exciting!"

The man with the pointed chin remarked, "How could such a stunningly beautiful girl appear in a place like this? Is it a gift from heaven?"

The man with black teeth exclaimed, "Wow, that waist is so slim! And that skin is so soft you could squeeze water out of it! I can't resist!"

"Hmm?" The fat man shot him a look.

The other three bowed and stepped back, saying, "Second Master, please go first. We'll eat what you leave behind."
