Chapter 2 My surname is Nan, Nan as in North and South.

There's no need for a human trafficker to put on this act in front of her. If she's not a human trafficker, then she must be... an actor?

Could it be that she's still in Hengdian, and her agent secretly accepted her for a legitimate reality show without informing her beforehand, just to see her true reaction? And the cameras are hidden in the shadows?

If that's really the case... I'll definitely give her a good beating when she gets back. What a terrible show she took; she almost ran herself to death.

The armored man looked extremely ugly, and the burning anger in his eyes was chilling. His arduous defense had only resulted in the common people drugging and knocking out his guards.

How could they do something so foolish and despicable? Aren't they afraid that the enemy might take the opportunity to invade?

"Lock her up and keep her under strict guard."

The armored man tapped Nan Qianyue's shoulder with his spear, seemingly without force, but in reality, it completely drained Nan Qianyue's strength, and the two soldiers immediately held her down.

Nanqianyue was completely bewildered. What was the production team trying to do? Were they playing this so seriously?

She was taken away by soldiers and had no strength to resist. All she could do was shout to stop the prank, "Call your director here. I'm not participating in this lousy show, or I'll have my dad banish you from the entertainment industry. You'll never be able to make a living in this industry again!"

The soldiers assumed she was just terrified and couldn't even speak clearly, so they didn't want to pay her any attention.

Feeling even more frustrated by being ignored, Nanqianyue was about to burst into a tirade when someone else started cursing before she could.

It was just a scolding of her—the one who moved south.

"Kill the Eastern Mausoleum spy!"

"Those people from Dongling are all bad, kill her!"

"Pooh!……"

Eggs and vegetable leaves were thrown at Nanqianyue, and the people who had been hiding in their homes rushed out, carrying vegetables and baskets, their faces filled with resentment.

Nanqianyue spat out the vegetable leaf from her mouth in disgust, looked around, and immediately spotted the two old ladies she had met at the temple, who were throwing vegetables with great enthusiasm.

They were the ones who started it.

"Are you all crazy?!"

Nanqian Yue was furious. When had she ever suffered such humiliation or been so humiliated?

Damn show, damn agent!

"Everyone, don't be impulsive. The general will interrogate her personally when he's done with his work. She can't die yet." The soldiers quickened their pace as they escorted Nan Qianyue, but the people's anger couldn't be quelled with just a few words.

They were unwittingly drawn into war because the arrogant Dongling insisted on occupying the precious land of Fengdu, causing them to be displaced and live in constant fear.

How could they not hate Dongling!

During the southward migration, Yue was escorted by soldiers all the way, enduring being fed vegetable leaves and eggs the entire time. When she was thrown into a small dark room, she was completely numb and slumped blankly in the corner.

She started to have doubts again.

The agent knew her temper and was well aware of the powerful family behind her; how could they dare to mess with her like this?

Moreover, the expressions and movements of those ordinary people were so realistic that no extra could possibly achieve that.

If it wasn't human trafficking, and it wasn't for filming a TV show, then what was it?

Two words slowly surfaced in her mind, but Nan Qianyue couldn't believe that such a bizarre thing would happen to her.

No, she has to go out and verify her guess.

"Crack."

Suddenly, the tightly closed window was opened a crack, and the only light shone in. A dark face appeared in the crack, and he made a breathy sound, as if calling Nan Qianyue to come over.

Nanqianyue frowned slightly. This dark face seemed to have appeared in the crowd of people throwing vegetable leaves and eggs. It wasn't that she had a good memory, but that he was so dark that it was hard not to notice him.

What do the people want from her? Do they want to beat her up?

"I'm here to save you."

The dark-skinned man spoke in a low voice, while constantly turning his head to look around.

Nan Qianyue heard this, lowered her eyes and thought for a moment. She decided to see what the man was up to and verify her suspicions.

She got up and walked towards the window, then asked from three steps away, "Do you know who I am before you say you want to save me?"

"Shh!" The man gestured for silence. "Keep your voice down, don't let the soldiers hear you."

The man continued, "Tell me your name. If you are from Dongling, the marshal will rescue you."

Nanqianyue's eyes widened instantly, and she pointed a finger at the man, "You, you, you are the spy! You are the Dongling man that the people are talking about!"

"Shh! Don't get agitated. If we get caught, neither of us will survive!"

The man looked slightly anxious. "Quick, tell me your name."

Nanqianyue rolled her eyes suspiciously. "Name...can I tell you?"

"My surname is Nan, as in 'north and south,' but I can't tell you my given name yet."

She thought the man would press her for her name, but when he heard her surname, his eyes widened in surprise. He gave her a deep look and then slipped away.

Nan Qianyue pursed her lips in thought. She dared not place her hopes on others; she had to escape and find out what was going on.

The open window in front of her was an escape route, but she wouldn't be that stupid.

Using the light streaming in through the window, she looked at the wooden crates inside the room that held the goods and made a decision in secret.

bump--

Suddenly, a strange noise came from the small dark room. The soldiers outside knew something was wrong and rushed in. They kicked the door open roughly, but there was no one inside. Only the only window was still banging on it.

The soldier rushed to the window and immediately spotted the silk cloth hanging there. "Oh no! She's escaped! You all go after her, I'll go inform the general!"

The footsteps inside were heavy and disordered, but soon silence returned.

The lid of the wooden crate among the stacked goods moved slightly, and someone opened it a crack from the inside, revealing a pair of bright eyes. After the eyes darted left and right to make sure it was safe, Nan Qianyue finally crawled out of the crate.
