Chapter 20 Everyone got food poisoning

"This! This...this...you are! You...you are also..."

He was so excited about migrating south that he couldn't even speak coherently.

She jumped up, grabbed Alan's shoulders, and shook him violently. "You're from another time too!?"

The southward migration was so exciting that his eyes instantly welled up with tears.

Alan was a little dazed by the shaking. The master had said that Miss Nan would behave somewhat strangely when she saw the contents of the note, but he hadn't said she would be this excited.

"Miss Nan... calm down first." Alan pressed Nan Qianyue's hand and gestured with his eyes to warn her that the soldiers outside might overhear.

Nanqianyue nodded in understanding. She pulled Alan to sit on the bedside and whispered to her, "So, you're from another time?"

Alan frowned slightly. What is... time travel?

“Miss Nan, this note was given to you by my master. I am not aware of what happened between you two,” Alan told truthfully.

"Your master?" Nanqianyue asked.

Alan nodded, his expression very serious. "Yes, only my lord can answer Miss Nan's question just now."

Nanqianyue frowned and stared at the note in her hand. The contents of the note were the only point of entry that connected her to her world.

But that ruler might not necessarily be a time traveler.

"Did your master write this?" Nanqianyue asked again.

Alan replied to each question, "I don't know the details. My infiltration of the Dongling military camp was on my lord's orders to rescue Miss Nan and reunite her with my lord."

Nan Qianyue looked closely into Alan's eyes, but after a long while, she found nothing unusual.

Alan was probably not lying.

"How are you going to rescue her?" Nan Qianyue asked with some worry, since Qin Yi was keeping a close watch on her, and it would be difficult for her to escape.

Alan finally breathed a sigh of relief and smiled, "It's good that Miss Nan is willing to believe me. As long as Miss Nan cooperates, we can escape today."

Nanqianyue was startled. So fast! They must have planned this in advance and were just waiting to persuade her.

She was naturally willing to cooperate. The Dongling military camp was unfamiliar to her, and she also had to be wary of the marshal at all times.

The contents of the note that suddenly appeared were like a beam of light shining into the dark room that had locked her up; she had to seize it.

After thinking it over, Nanqianyue composed herself and looked at Alan, saying, "Today, Qin Yi is personally leading troops to attack Fengdu, which is indeed the best time to escape. What are your plans?"

Alan's smile brightened upon hearing this, and she whispered, "We have people in the kitchen camp, that's the arrangement..."

The Dongling military camp provided two meals a day, at 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM respectively.

At 3:45 AM, Nanqianyue and Alan arrived at the pharmacy area to have a meal with everyone.

Bai Shu saw Nan Qianyue and immediately waved with a smile, "A Yue, come here, it's all set up for you."

Nan Qianyue noticed a flicker of guilt in Bai Shu's eyes, but she quickly masked it with a smile.

She walked over, while Alan went to another table and sat down with Wang Agou.

"Brother Bai, has General Huang also gone to the battlefield?" Nan Qianyue asked knowingly.

Bai Shu served Nan Qianyue a bowl of porridge and said softly, "No, the current situation in the South District requires capable people to guard it. Although General Huang has repeatedly suggested to the Prince that someone else be sent to guard the South District, the Prince has rejected his proposals."

"Oh." Nan Qianyue nodded, scooped up some white porridge and slowly ate it. "Is Qin Yi really going to attack Fengdu? What will happen to the people of the city?"

Bai Shu sighed softly, raising his eyes to look in the direction of Fengdu, "I believe that the prince will not disregard the people."

"You think highly of him," Nan Qianyue said sullenly.

Seeing her disdainful look, Bai Shu smiled again, "A Yue, don't be angry with the prince. He was indeed a bit impulsive in some ways, but that's because he cares about you too much and inevitably lost his sense of proportion."

Nan Qianyue curled her lips, "But if it were Brother Bai, he would definitely not disrespect the other party. Brother Bai is different from him. You are a gentleman who restrains himself and follows the rules, while he... is a barbaric animal."

"Pfft..." Bai Shu laughed and shook his head, "Alright, alright, I won't argue with you anymore."

The two sat facing each other and talked, while the military doctor, sandwiched between them, picked up a bowl of porridge with trembling hands and wiped away cold sweat.

It was all because of the fact that when he moved south, he spoke without any restraint, and his disrespectful words were so readily available that they terrified the military doctor.

On the other table, Wang Agou enthusiastically pushed a plate of cakes in front of Alan, and apologized with a silly smile, "Miss Zhu, please don't blame us for our crudeness. We hope you won't hold it against us."

Alan smiled politely, "I understand, you're just following orders."

After saying that, she served Wang Agou another bowl of porridge, saying, "This porridge is surprisingly sweet today, please have some more."

"Hehehe, thank you, Miss Zhu."

After a simple meal, everyone got busy again.

Today, one of the military doctors went to the centralized clinic for a follow-up visit, while Bai Shu stayed at the pharmacy to help prepare the medicine. However, while preparing the medicine, he discovered that several of the herbs had become damp.

This was a very serious matter. He immediately ordered Wang Agou and the others to take out the damp medicinal herbs to dry in the sun, and those that needed to be used urgently could be dried with flint.

"Sigh, how did it get damp again?" Nan Qianyue was busy helping to dry the clothes, and the worry and anxiety in her eyes didn't seem like an act at all.

Alan, who was helping out in the baking area, raised an eyebrow and thought to himself, "Miss Nan doesn't need any teaching at all; her acting is just like the real thing."

She felt inferior to them.

"Hiss..." Just as Wang Agou picked up the dried medicinal herbs to prepare them for the apprentice, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his abdomen and immediately clenched his buttocks.

But the series of farts still attracted everyone's attention.

The young apprentice who was closer to him instinctively covered his mouth and nose and said considerately, "You go ahead, leave the herbs to me."
