At 3:45 PM, Nan Qianyue and Qin Yi boarded a carriage and left the Prime Minister's residence.
Following her intuition, Nanqianyue quietly moved to a seat a little further away from Qin Yi.
Qin Yi smiled slightly and reached out to Nan Qianyue, "Why are you sitting so far away? Come and sit down."
Nanqianyue smiled slightly, "I'm a little hot, so I'll sit here and get some fresh air."
Qin Yi suddenly reached for his collar and tugged at it. "It's a bit hot. I'll get some fresh air too."
Under Nan Qianyue's fearful and wary gaze, Qin Yi moved next to her and sat down close to her.
Unsurprisingly, her waist was gripped by a strong, powerful arm.
Nanqian Yuexin was anxious, "Let go of me, we're in a carriage, can't you be rational..."
Her words abruptly stopped.
After Qin Yi put his arm around her waist, he didn't do anything else.
She, on the other hand, is making a mountain out of a molehill...
Qin Yi raised an eyebrow, a sly glint in his eyes, and said innocently, "What are you thinking about, Yue'er? Can't I even hug you in the carriage?"
He leaned closer again, in a suggestive tone, "Or perhaps, you want to..."
Nanqianyue opened her eyes wide and said, "What are you thinking? I wasn't thinking anything."
She crossed her arms and turned her face away, her ears slightly red.
"Woof woof woof..."
Suddenly, a dog barked from the street.
Nan Qianyue immediately looked at Qin Yi and saw that he was frowning slightly and tightening his grip on her waist.
"Are you really afraid of dogs?" Nan Qianyue asked with some doubt. "But when you went to Shicang County to rescue me, you brought so many big dogs with you, and you didn't seem afraid of them at all."
Qin Yi gazed into her eyes, "Nothing else matters when it comes to your safety."
Nanqian Yue was deeply moved, and she regretted her earlier doubts.
The seven-year-old boy was kept in a dog pen and tortured for four days, his body covered in bites.
How could he not be afraid of dogs? Hearing a dog bark would surely remind him of those torturous days.
"Hug me." Nan Qianyue hugged Qin Yi tightly, hoping to bring him some comfort.
Qin Yi's tightly pursed lips gradually relaxed, and warmth slowly seeped into his eyes.
"How about moving back to Tianji Academy? I'm fine with moving to Lingxi Academy too," he tried to negotiate.
Nanqianyue raised her face, "But according to the rules..."
“There are no rules.” Qin Yi said seriously, “We are husband and wife, so we should live together. Those customs are for people with multiple wives and concubines, and they have nothing to do with me.”
Nan Qianyue thought for a moment, then smiled and said, "Alright, whatever you say."
“But you need to be more restrained, or we’ll have to separate rooms,” Nan Qianyue said, changing the subject.
Qin Yi smiled and nodded, "Okay."
...After returning to the Prince's residence, Qin Yi was summoned away by Zhuo Yuanzhi, who looked anxious.
Nanqianyue felt inexplicably uneasy.
Because of her unease, she leaned against the headboard and stared out the window into the distance until late at night, completely unable to fall asleep.
Zisu, who had gone to gather information, returned and said, "Your Highness, the Prince sent someone to tell you that he has some urgent matters to attend to and that you should go to sleep first and not wait for him."
Nan Qianyue frowned. "Okay, you should go and rest. You don't need to be waited on here."
Zisu nodded with a worried look in her eyes, "Yes."
The night was too quiet. As the moon shone brightly in the south, he waited and waited, his eyelids growing heavier and heavier until he finally fell asleep.
In a daze, a cool breeze crept into the blankets, followed by a burst of heat on my neck, and a feeling of pressure on my body.
The moon, which was moving south, was awakened, and its eyelids slowly opened.
"Moon..." Her breath was hot against my ear.
As the southward migration progressed, his thoughts gradually cleared. "What happened? You all look very worried."
Qin Yi kissed her from behind her ear to her lips, then looked into her eyes. "Lord Xie has been captured, and Longmen City is about to fall."
Nan Qianyue's eyes widened in surprise; the news came too suddenly, leaving her speechless.
Qin Yi said in a deep voice, "I have many things to arrange early tomorrow morning, and I will set off for Longmen City the day after tomorrow."
He kissed Nanqianyue's forehead, his voice slightly hoarse, "Logically, I should have made arrangements tonight, but I missed you so much that I came back."
As she moved south, her thoughts raced, and the person on top of her began to undress her.
A barrage of passionate kisses rained down on her, and Nanqianyue simply cast aside all her thoughts, embracing him in response.
...The murky night ended.
At noon, the southward-migrating moon awoke.
She sat up, looked around the room, and asked, "Zisu, where is the Prince?"
Zisu brought in the wash water. "Your Highness, the Prince went to the Black Cavalry Camp early this morning and should be heading to the palace now."
Nanqianyue's mind was filled with Qin Yi's words from last night: "Lord Xie, Longmen City..."
"Quick, help me change." She quickly got out of bed.
An hour later, Nanqianyue arrived at the Prime Minister's residence.
"Butler, is Father in the study?" she asked, grabbing the bewildered butler.
The butler nodded. "He just returned from the palace and is currently in the study discussing matters with several ministers."
He rushed to his study without stopping during his southward migration.
She didn't rush in, but stood quietly outside the door waiting.
Even through the door, she could feel the heavy atmosphere inside.
An hour later, the door was opened, and several ministers walked out with solemn expressions.
Upon seeing Nanqianyue, they immediately composed themselves and bowed, saying, "Greetings, Your Highness."
Nanqianyue nodded slightly and waited for them to leave before going inside.
"Father!"
Nan Xiang wasn't too surprised to see her, and the worry between his brows remained.
"Qian Yue is here to inquire about the situation in Longmen City, right?"
Nan Qianyue nodded. "What exactly is the situation now? How did Lord Xie get captured so suddenly? And who arrested him?"
The Southern Prime Minister sighed deeply, “On the surface, it is the small northern kingdom of Yudan that has captured Lord Xie, but everyone knows that Yudan is backed by Southern Jing. According to the information sent back by the spies, the real mastermind behind it all is Prince Yu of Southern Jing.”
