Directly below him, several soldiers, stripped of their armor, knelt, and behind them stood generals holding large swords.
There were still many soldiers watching around the training ground.
Qin Yi's stern voice rang out, "We are in a military camp, and we should prioritize strength, strategy, and combat skills. Today, you few have not thought about military affairs, but instead spread rumors about gods and ghosts in the camp, misleading the masses. Such behavior has disrupted the morale of our army and violated our military regulations. Today, I will execute you to uphold military law!"
"cut!"
Several large swords were raised high at the same time and slashed down simultaneously. In the blink of an eye, several heads fell to the ground.
Nanqianyue opened her eyes wide in terror, frozen in place.
Qin Yi was about to say something more when he noticed her out of the corner of his eye.
He beckoned to a general, gave him a few instructions, and then strode towards Nanqianyue.
"Why are you here?" He stood in front of Nan Qianyue, blocking the bloody scene.
She took a step back after moving south, but her legs were so weak that she almost fell. Fortunately, Qin Yi caught her in time.
"Were you scared?" he asked softly.
Nan Qianyue looked up blankly, staring into his dark, inky eyes, and the fear in her heart could not be dispelled for a while.
Qin Yi could tell she was terrified, so he pulled her away, explaining as they walked, "They made a very serious mistake. If we don't kill them, it will demoralize the army."
Back in the tent, Qin Yi pressed her down to sit and poured her a glass of water. "Did you come to see me about something?"
Nan Qianyue quickly shook her head, "No, no." She didn't want to be treated like a monster.
Her reaction was a bit strong, but Qin Yi just assumed she was frightened. "Don't be afraid. This ground beneath our feet is littered with corpses. You'll get used to it."
The thought of the southward migration instantly gave me goosebumps. Was that supposed to be comforting?
"Wait here, I'll come find you after I take care of some things." Qin Yi patted the back of her head.
Nanqianyue stood up, saying, "I'd better go back to my own tent."
Qin Yi held her down, staring intently at her brows and eyes, her earlobes slowly turning red.
He pursed his lips tightly, as if summoning great courage, and said, "I have something to tell you, and it's very important."
Feeling uneasy about the southward migration, she tentatively asked, "How important is it?"
Qin Yi looked away and said in a low voice, "It's a matter of great importance."
