Chapter 231 You control freak, you better not show your face in front of me.

Nanqianyue sighed weakly, suppressing her temper. "I really don't need your gratitude. If you truly want to help me, let me leave, or... take me to the valley where we first met."

"Okay," Qin Yi replied quickly. "Let's eat first, and then I'll take you there."

"Really?" Nanqianyue's pupils lit up.

...Two hours later, Qin Yi used his lightness skill to carry Nan Qianyue down the valley from the side forest.

After landing, Nanqianyue ran towards the river.

Qin Yi followed slowly, his mind replaying the various scenes of her saving him.

"Why don't I feel anything at all?" Nan Qianyue asked, lying on the rocky beach and looking up at the sky.

She turned her head to look at the river, wondering if she had to jump into it.

Upon having this idea, the action-oriented person Nanqian Yue quickly got up and rushed towards the turbulent river.

"What are you doing?" Qin Yi rushed over and grabbed her. "You asked me to bring you here because you want to die?"

His tone was angry.

Unable to defend himself, Nanqian Yue had no choice but to lie, saying, "I don't want to die, I want to regain my memories. Since I lost my memory after falling into this river, I'll jump in again, and maybe my memories will come back."

"Ridiculous!" Qin Yi forcefully pulled her away from the riverbank, coldly saying, "You should know in your heart whether you've lost your memory or not. Jumping into such a fast-flowing river is no different from committing suicide."

Nanqianyue looked on in astonishment. From Qin Yi's words, he knew she hadn't lost her memory? He knew she was lying?

Why did he keep her in the military camp? Wasn't he afraid she might actually be a spy?

"What, can't think of a reason?" Qin Yi's expression was frosty.

Nan Qianyue's eyes flickered. "I...I really am not looking for death. This river won't drown me. The day I saved you, I swam up from this river. I'm not joking with you. This river is very important to me. I have to jump in. Don't stop me."

As she spoke, she forcefully pried Qin Yi's fingers apart.

Qin Yi's hands were not something she could pry open. He pulled her closer, pressed her shoulders, and looked at her seriously. "Tell me, what exactly do you want to do? Perhaps I can help you."

Nan Qianyue was slightly taken aback. Just as she was about to trust him, the scene of Qin Yi executing the soldiers who were spreading rumors suddenly flashed through her mind. Fear rose in her heart, and she lowered her head and whispered:

"I'm just looking for my memories, that's all."

A hint of disappointment flashed across Qin Yi's eyes, but he said firmly, "That would be suicide. I will not let you do anything foolish."

After saying that, he picked her up and carried her back, ignoring her struggles.

"Put me down! I'm not trying to kill myself! I just wanted to jump in and take a look...!"

...Back at the military camp, Nan Qianyue kicked Qin Yi hard as soon as she landed.

"You control freak! You'd better not show your face in front of me!"

After saying that, she stormed off in a huff.

The patrolling soldiers around them looked at each other, wishing they could disappear into the ground, afraid of getting in the marshal's way.

Inside the tent, Nanqianyue lay sprawled on the bed, her face filled with utter despair.

The woman in red walked in with a cold expression, carrying food. She put down the food, walked to the bedside, and gazed down at Nan Qianyue.

"What is your relationship with the Crown Prince of Nan Jing?" she asked emotionlessly.

Nanqianyue gently lifted her eyes, "What do you think?"

The woman in red's eyes flashed with anger, and she swiftly drew a dagger, pressing it against Nan Qianyue's neck.

"Tell me, are you a spy sent by Nan Jing?"

Nanqianyue was speechless, rolled her eyes, and nodded, saying, "Oh right, I am a spy."

She tilted her head back and said, "Come on, kill this spy."

The woman in red's eyes burned with anger. "You think I wouldn't dare? Nan Jing is really cunning, sending you here to bewitch the prince. Don't think you can do whatever you want just because the prince is pleased with you!"

"What did you say?" Nan Qianyue exclaimed in surprise. "You said Qin Yixin loves someone?"

The man in red held a dagger close to her neck. "What are you pretending for? If you didn't know the prince's feelings, how dare you treat him like that?"

Nan Qianyue was bewildered. "What did I do to him? Wasn't it him who was interfering with me all along?"

"Red Deputy General! What are you doing? Let go of A-Yue!" Bai Shu rushed over.

The woman in red sheathed her dagger and stared warily at Nan Qianyue. "You'd better not do anything to harm the prince, or I will definitely kill you."

Bai Shu roughly guessed why Hongyi had come here, and hurriedly explained, "Ayue is not a spy. The prince has already sent people to investigate. Deputy General Hong knows this. Why scare her like this?"

The woman in red snorted coldly, turned around, and strode away.

Nanqianyue sat up, about to yell at Hongyi, when she suddenly noticed that the back of her clothes was torn, as if it had been whipped.

“Her back…” Nan Qianyue asked, puzzled.

Bai Shu shook his head helplessly, "The deputy general was punished by the prince for losing you, but don't worry, Yue, it's just some superficial injuries, nothing serious."

"What do you mean by superficial injuries that are nothing serious?" Nan Qianyue jumped out of bed in anger. "Is Qin Yi out of his mind? I ran away on my own. What does it have to do with Hongyi? Why doesn't he hit himself?"

"Can a girl's skin be damaged so easily? What if it leaves a scar? Why should Red Robe be loyal to such a heartless master?"

Bai Shu chuckled at her angry expression, "You don't blame Deputy General Hong for treating you like that just now?"

Nan Qianyue raised her eyebrows slightly, "I can tell that she doesn't really want to kill me, and she has always been quite nice to me. She's just cold on the outside but warm on the inside."

“Wait a minute,” Nan Qianyue said, rubbing her chin. “I’ve been gone for half a month, but Hongyi’s wounds look fresh.”
