Chapter 232 I want to see if you are interested in me

Is this old general explaining things for Qin Yi? And even helping him repay a favor? What is their relationship?

Nan Qianyue smiled slightly, "Actually, my wish right now is for Qin Yi to stop interfering with me. Can you do that?"

General Du laughed heartily, "I can't control him, let's change our wish."

After thinking for a moment, Nan Qianyue tentatively asked, "May I ask what your relationship is with Qin Yi?"

General Du smiled slightly and said, "He calls me 'teacher'."

Nan Qianyue looked slightly surprised. "Ha, so it's the teacher."

She smiled slightly and said, "Actually, I'm quite interested in military strategy books. Could you give me one?"

She thought she should use this favor quickly to avoid getting involved for too long. As for her claim of liking military books, it was just something she said casually.

General Du was surprised. "Oh? I didn't expect a young girl like you to like military books. Well then, this makes things easier for me. Come with me."

Nanqian Yue nodded and followed him.

As she passed the young man who had blocked her way earlier, she arrogantly raised her chin and glared at him with her nostrils flared.

General Du led Nanqianyue to one of the large tents, where a large map of the mountains and rivers was set up, and various books, scrolls, and hidden weapons were displayed on the shelves around the tent.

General Du waved his hand casually, "Find a seat for yourself. I'm getting old and my memory isn't what it used to be. I'll have to search carefully to see which military book is suitable for you."

Nanqianyue nodded obediently, "Oh, okay." She sat down next to the map of mountains and rivers, cupped her cheeks, and stared at it with great interest.

Half an hour later, General Du nodded happily, "This is the one."

He walked over and handed the book to Nanqianyue, saying, "Military strategy is not only applicable to the battlefield. If you understand it thoroughly, you can also use it in your life. I give you this book, wishing you a smooth journey."

Nan Qianyue stood up, took the military book with both hands, and said, "Thank you, General Du. Actually, I think so too. Military strategy is amazing and can be used everywhere."

As she spoke, she flipped through a small section, but it was this small section that made her frown.

General Du raised an eyebrow. "Is there something wrong?"

Nan Qianyue smiled slightly, not wanting to make a direct judgment, so she changed her approach.

"To be honest, I once memorized two military books, 'The Art of War' and 'The Thirty-Six Stratagems.' I just saw the first page of this book, and the opinions in it don't quite match those in the military books I memorized."

General Du became interested. "Oh? Tell me in detail, so that I may have a good understanding."

Nanqian nodded, feeling grateful that she had put a lot of effort into every film she made.

"War is a matter of vital importance to the state; it is a matter of life and death, a road either to safety or to ruin. Hence it is a subject of inquiry which can on no account be neglected..."

"One of the Thirty-Six Stratagems: Deceiving the Heavens to Cross the Sea..."

Outside the tent, Qin Yi stood with his hands clasped behind his back, his deep, dark pupils gradually gleaming, and the curve of his lips deepening little by little.

"Wonderful!" General Du was stunned for a long time before he came to his senses.

He stroked his beard, nodded approvingly, and suddenly asked, "Who exactly is this Sun Tzu? I have never heard of anyone with such combat experience."

Nanqianyue began to feign ignorance, saying, "This... I don't remember, and I've also forgotten where I saw these two military books."

General Du was very understanding. "It's alright. It's already quite good that you could memorize it. It's just a pity that you won't have the chance to meet that sir."

"Teacher." Qin Yi walked in.

Nan Qianyue's face instantly fell.

General Du observed her reaction, a mysterious smile playing on his lips, and asked Qin Yi, "Did you hear her reciting the military text just now?"

Qin Yi nodded. "I heard you."

Nan Qianyue glanced at him and muttered under her breath, "Rude, eavesdropping on other people's conversation."

General Du shook his head and chuckled, "Since you've heard it, then write it down and study it carefully."

Qin Yi clasped his hands and said, "Yes."

Nanqianyue was a little surprised. Qin Yi was a prince, right? How could a prince bow to a general?

It seems that Qin Yi respects this elder very much.

General Du looked apologetically at Nan Qianyue, "I originally wanted to repay your favor, but now I owe you even more. I have no other skills besides fighting. If you want to learn martial arts, I can teach you."

Nanqianyue smiled and said, "Great, that just happens to be my favorite fighting!"

General Du was slightly taken aback, then burst into laughter, "Haha...good, good, good, as expected of the daughter of the Southern Chancellor, she is a straightforward child."

Nanqianyue's smile froze slightly. Although she felt uncomfortable inside, she did not spoil General Du's mood.

"I still need to go check out the training grounds, so I won't disturb you any longer," General Du said with a smile as he strode away.

Nan Qianyue felt even more awkward. What did he mean by not disturbing her and Qin Yi? What was there that they couldn't be disturbed?

"Your recitation of military strategy is excellent," Qin Yi praised with a faint smile.

Nanqianyue replied indifferently, "Oh."

She responded and walked straight past Qin Yi towards the door.

However, after taking only a few steps, she suddenly remembered her purpose: wasn't she going to verify whether Qin Yi was in love with her?

Why not just ask him directly and see how he answers?

Nanqianyue turned back and walked to Qin Yi's side, staring intently at him without looking away.

Qin Yi pursed his lips, his fingers hanging at his sides curling inwards unnaturally. "What's wrong?"

Nanqianyue slowly approached him, her gaze unabashedly fixed on his features.

Qin Yi's ears turned red from being stared at, and his heart pounded wildly. He asked in a low voice, "Why are you staring at me like that?"

Nanqianyue said in a serious tone, "I want to see if you are interested in me."

This statement is too blunt and came out of nowhere.

Qin Yi's pupils flickered, his heart raced, and he stiffly looked away. "So, what did you see?"
