Nanqianyue still hesitated, "Brother Bai, let's part ways here."
Bai Shu panicked, but tried to remain calm. "A-Yue, you've been traveling all this way. Why don't you rest here for a few days and make some plans before you leave?"
Nanqianyue was conflicted. After thinking it over carefully, she shook her head and refused, "No, I'm leaving now."
After saying that, she turned to get the horse.
At the same time, the sound of rapid hoofbeats approached.
As the moon moved south, my gaze turned, and my pupils widened in terror.
Realizing what was happening, she tried to run away as fast as she could, but she couldn't outrun Qin Yi's long legs.
He grabbed her, gripping her shoulders, his eyes brimming with emotion.
"Didn't you say you didn't want to see me? Why did you secretly follow me here?"
Nan Qianyue shrugged, but couldn't shake him off, and couldn't help but get annoyed. "I came here openly and honestly, and it has nothing to do with you."
There were many people around, and pairs of eyes looked at the two of them with a mixture of curiosity and fear.
Qin Yi suppressed the tightness in his chest and pulled Nan Qianyue into the mansion.
During the southward migration, she struggled, shouting, "Let me go! What right do you have to control me! Let me go!"
As she was being dragged, she stretched out her leg and kicked Qin Yi hard.
The group, led by the county magistrate, were utterly astonished.
Qin Yi dragged Nan Qianyue into the cabinet and slammed the door shut.
Once liberated, Nanqian Yue unleashed a barrage of punches and kicks at Qin Yi.
He cursed and yelled, "I'll beat you to death, you lunatic! You madman!"
Little did she know, at that moment she seemed more like a madwoman.
Qin Yi stood still, letting her hit him, until she got tired and stopped, then he opened his mouth to speak.
"I don't care why you came here, but now that you're here, I will protect your safety."
"You will stay at the Marshal's Mansion for the time being. I will come over every day after I finish my military duties."
"The red-clothed man and the white-booked man will stay here. If you're bored, you can ask them to take you out for a walk."
"I will send a message back to the capital to inform the Prime Minister of your situation. If he insists that you return to the capital, I will send someone to escort you back."
He finished speaking calmly, successfully provoking the anger of the Southern Migration Month.
She roared, "I'm not the Southern Chancellor's daughter! How many times do I have to say it?!"
Qin Yi's expression remained unchanged. "Then who are you? Where are you from?"
Nan Qianyue's eyes flickered slightly. "Who I am is none of your business. Can you please leave me alone?"
A slight smile appeared between Qin Yi's brows. "You saved my life. You are more important than me. Your safety..."
"Stop!" Nan Qianyue interrupted him, pointing a finger at his chest with a cold sarcasm, "You know what you're after, stop using repaying a debt of gratitude as an excuse. Who repays a debt of gratitude like you?"
Qin Yi did not refute, but said in a low voice, "In your eyes... am I that bad?"
Nanqianyue withdrew her hand, her expression serious. "I can't judge whether you're good or bad, but right now, you're restricting my freedom, so I hate you."
"I'm too lazy to waste my breath on you." She turned and opened the door, then strode away.
As expected, the Marshal's Mansion was heavily guarded, and she couldn't get out at all.
...Several days passed in a row.
The month of migration south was extremely boring, and most of the time was spent helping Bai Shu take care of medicinal herbs.
Qin Yi would appear in her line of sight every day, whether intentionally or unintentionally, but she ignored him and occasionally rolled her eyes.
Until this day, the peaceful days were shattered.
In the morning, when Nanqian Yue was having breakfast, he heard Bai Shu say that the Princess had arrived.
"The Eldest Princess? Why is she at the border? When did she arrive?" Nan Qianyue asked, her face full of questions.
Bai Shu's expression was somewhat strange. "She arrived yesterday, saying she was going to Anyang to visit her maternal grandfather. Old Song was grateful for the hard work of the border soldiers, so he asked her to send a lot of supplies to improve their lives."
Nanqianyue nodded thoughtfully, "Oh, then her maternal grandfather is quite well."
Bai Shu remained silent for a moment, offering no comment, as it was best not to let A Yue know some of the more sensitive matters.
"The magistrate is hosting a banquet tonight. Would you like to go, A-Yue?"
When asked about the southward migration, Yue flatly refused, saying, "I won't go," to avoid gossip.
Bai Shu expressed his understanding, "Perfect timing, I don't like these kinds of occasions either. How about we have a barbecue inside the mansion?"
Nanqianyue nodded excitedly, "Okay, okay, but all I can do is eat."
Bai Shu couldn't help but laugh, "A-Yue, just eat, I'll finish the rest."
As the sun set, Bai Shu began setting up his barbecue stall.
Nanqianyue stood aside like a robot, not knowing what to do unless Baishu gave her something to do.
"Mission accomplished!" Nan Qianyue clapped her hands excitedly, as if she had done it all herself.
Bai Shu started grilling the meat. "A-Yue, sit in the northwest corner so the smoke won't bother you."
"Oh, which direction is northwest?" Nanqianyue asked, holding the stool, looking bewildered.
Bai Shu couldn't help but chuckle, and pointed, "Here."
"Alright!" Nan Qianyue sat down excitedly, licking her lips as she looked at the sizzling skewers.
At that moment, the courtyard gate was pushed open forcefully.
The two women, dressed in green and red, helped Qin Yi walk over hurriedly.
"Lord Bai! Quickly, give the Prince an antidote!" the man in green shouted urgently.
Bai Shu's eyes widened in surprise. He immediately put down the roasted meat and ran over, shouting, "Quickly, help the prince inside!"
Nanqian Yuemang stood up blankly and tiptoed over to see what was going on.
She stood outside the door without going in, only hearing hurried movements and constant commands coming from inside.
An hour later, it gradually got dark.
The sound of hurried footsteps approached the door from inside the house, and Nan Qianyue quickly stepped aside.
Then, Qingyi carried Qin Yi out and ran towards Qin Yi's residence.
As Bai Shu followed behind, he cast a complicated glance at Nanqianyue as they passed by.
Nanqianyue was confused and wanted to ask what was going on, but she held back.
