This idea was quickly defeated by her inexplicable self-righteousness and outward composure, and she forcefully pulled open the door.
As luck would have it, Qin Yi was carrying the meal to the door.
Their eyes met, and they both noticed a hint of awkwardness in each other's eyes.
Finally, Qin Yi broke the silence, his voice gentler than ever before, "Are you hungry? Let's eat first."
As the moon moved south, its gaze fell upon the food. After a long silence, it reached out and took the tray.
But Qin Yi wouldn't let go.
Nan Qianyue frowned slightly, a hint of displeasure seeping from her eyes. "Isn't this for me?"
Qin Yi's expression showed a moment of panic, and he stammered slightly, "I...I'll eat with you."
After saying that, he carried the meal around Nanqianyue and went into the house.
Nan Qianyue's expression clearly showed her rejection; she did not want to have any more contact with Qin Yi.
She rubbed her lower back, turned around and walked to the table, ignoring Qin Yi's presence, and sat down to eat by herself.
Compared to her composure and indifference, Qin Yi appeared overly awkward and uneasy.
He held his chopsticks for a long time without moving, and finally mustered up the courage to say seriously:
"I will take responsibility for you."
"Cough cough..."
One sentence, "Responsible and successful," left Nanqian Yue speechless.
Qin Yi quickly patted her back and poured her a cup of tea with his other hand, saying, "Drink some water."
Nan Qianyue took a few sips of tea, then frowned as she looked at Qin Yi and said calmly, "I don't need you to take responsibility."
After saying that, she pushed away Qin Yi's hand that was on her back.
Qin Yi's expression was indescribably dejected, and he seemed somewhat at a loss.
The atmosphere inside the room was very strange. Qin Yi lowered his head slightly and said in a low voice after a long while, "...I need it."
"What?" Nan Qianyue doubted her ears.
Qin Yi raised his eyes, his expression devoid of any joking intent, "You took my body, you have to take responsibility for me."
Nanqian Yue nearly dropped her jaw. "How could you say something like that?"
Qin Yi remained calm and composed, saying, "Although you did it to save me, you essentially took advantage of me."
Nan Qianyue resisted the urge to smash the bowl over his face and instead slammed her hand on the table. "Have you forgotten what we agreed on last night? If I save you, you can't interfere with me anymore."
Qin Yi said confidently, "I didn't hear anything."
Nan Qianyue pointed at him and sneered, "Fine, fine, I knew you'd renege on your promise. Just you wait!"
She rushed into the inner room, opened the bedside table drawer, but it was empty.
The letter of commitment is missing.
