Nanqianyue breathed a sigh of relief, "That's great, you're really heavy." He was big and muscular.
"I'll help you walk." She carried Qin Yi on her arm and supported his back with her other hand.
Qin Yi lowered his eyes and gazed at her profile, his eyes sparkling with a warmth like the spring sun, revealing an unconcealable sense of satisfaction and intoxication.
...When the two appeared in the county town, their personal guards immediately came to pick them up.
"Your Highness! How did you get injured again?" The man in green asked anxiously.
Nan Qianyue quickly said, "Stop talking nonsense and take him to get treatment."
"Oh, okay." Qingyi immediately stepped forward, but was scared away by a look from Qin Yi.
The woman in green tactfully led over the horses. "Miss Nan, why don't you take the prince with you? I... I don't know the extent of his injuries, and I'm afraid I might accidentally hurt him."
Nan Qianyue didn't see Qin Yi's look just now, so she didn't think much of it and said, "Okay, I'll go up first, you guys help him up."
The woman in green nodded repeatedly, "Good, good, good!"
Nan Qianyue mounted the horse, and Qingyi effortlessly helped Qin Yi up as well. Qin Yi then clung to Nan Qianyue's shoulder like a soft persimmon.
Qingyi: "..." The prince is pretending, but he has no proof.
...Back at the Marshal's Mansion, Nan Qianyue helped Qin Yi dismount.
"How are you feeling now?" she asked as she helped Qin Yi walk.
Qin Yi leaned almost entirely on Nan Qianyue, saying weakly, "Still dizzy..."
The man in green following behind him: "..." Based on his understanding of the prince, as long as he can stand up, no matter how badly injured he is, he will look like nothing happened.
She would never have looked so weak and frail now.
"Brother Bai!" Nan Qianyue shouted loudly in the direction of the pharmacy.
Hearing the commotion, Bai Shu rushed over, "A-Yue! You didn't leave, that's great!"
"What's going on, Your Highness?" Bai Shu only noticed Qin Yi after the event.
Nan Qianyue helped Qin Yi sit down at the stone table. "Come and see him quickly. He's been poisoned. He was slashed in the shoulder, but he's already taken the antidote."
She finished speaking quickly and wiped the sweat from her forehead.
Bai Shu walked over calmly, "Don't worry, Yue, as long as the prince can walk, there won't be any major problems."
Upon hearing this, Qin Yi quickly glared at Bai Shu while Nan Qianyue was wiping his sweat.
Bai Shu instantly understood and changed his words, "Of course, it's not always like this. Let me check on Your Highness first."
"Yes, you should check quickly." Nan Qianyue sat down and poured a cup of tea for Qin Yi and herself.
Seeing how tired and thirsty she looked, Qin Yi said apologetically, "You've worked so hard."
Nanqianyue swallowed her tea and waved her hand, "I'm not tired, but I've hurt you. If you hadn't taken the knife for me, you wouldn't have been injured."
The woman in red, who had just entered the courtyard, overheard these words. She frowned and couldn't help but rebuke them:
“Miss Nan, the Prince is devoted to protecting your safety. Today, he risked his life alone to show you the cruelty of the outside world. Do you know how many people outside want to kill the Prince? Can you please stop…”
"Red Robe!" Qin Yi interrupted sharply, "This is all my decision. If you say another word, you will be sent to be punished by the army."
The woman in red immediately lowered her head. "...Yes."
Nanqianyue gripped the teacup with her knuckles, and even with her eyes lowered, one could see the shame between her brows.
Qin Yi held her hand and said gently, "It's me who wants to follow you alone because I don't want others to be there when I confess my feelings to you."
Nanqianyue opened her eyes, her expression somewhat unnatural, "...Why are you saying this?"
Pretending to take the prince's pulse, Bai Shu tried hard to suppress the upturned corners of his mouth. "Ahem, I'm going to prepare medicine for the prince. I'll also need to trouble A-Yue to treat the prince's wounds."
“Okay.” Nan Qianyue got up and got to work, quickly going into the house to fetch bandages and medicine.
When they returned to the courtyard, only Qin Yi was sitting there.
Nanqianyue looked suspiciously at the courtyard gate. Just a moment ago, they were so worried about their prince. How come they all ran away all of a sudden?
"Untie your belt yourself." Nan Qianyue tapped Qin Yi's shoulder.
Qin Yi cooperated fully, not only unbuckling his belt but also taking off his entire shirt.
For some reason, Nanqianyue felt a little awkward seeing Qin Yi's bare chest, and some images even flashed uncontrollably in her mind.
She really disliked this feeling.
"What's wrong?" Qin Yi turned around and asked with concern.
Nanqian Yue quickly composed herself, "It's nothing, it's just that the blood has dried."
She calmed down and cleaned the wound. After the wound was bandaged, the medicine that Bai Shu had brewed was ready.
"Your Highness, remember to drink the medicine while it's hot. I'll go and dry the herbs first." Bai Shu put down the medicine and left.
"I'll go hang it to dry. Brother Bai, you stay with Qin Yi and check if there are any problems with my bandages."
The Southern Migration didn't give them time to react, and quickly left.
She could tell that Brother Bai and the others were deliberately giving her and Qin Yi some space, but she didn't like that.
That's too deliberate.
...The next morning.
The county magistrate led several pretty maids to the marshal's mansion.
The man in red asked solemnly, "What does the magistrate mean by this?"
The magistrate smiled broadly, "Reporting to Deputy General Hong, these are the maids I recruited for the Marshal's Mansion. This huge Marshal's Mansion can't just have a few cleaning women. I heard that the Prince spends most of his time staying at the Marshal's Mansion, so I specially found a few careful maids for him."
The woman in red's eyes turned cold. "The prince has no need for maids to serve him. Take them back."
The magistrate smiled apologetically, "Yes, yes, I was being presumptuous. I'll take them away right away."
Suddenly remembering something, the woman in red called out to him, "Wait, keep one, take the rest with you."
The magistrate dared not say more, "Yes."
