Chapter 249 Even in a coma, I can still hold you tight

Qin Yi's eyes lit up, and he no longer wanted to linger. He picked up Nan Qianyue, mounted his horse, and turned to leave.

The Black Cavalry and Dragon Cavalry automatically made way, all looking at the prince and princess with envy.

The Dongling army waved its banners as they withdrew, and the troops slowly moved away. The Nanjing troops breathed a sigh of relief, thankful to have escaped with their lives.

Qin Yi, having exhausted all his strength, hunched over and leaned on Nan Qianyue's shoulder.

He shoved the reins into Nanqianyue's hands, while he held her tightly around the waist.

Nanqianyue tilted her head slightly and asked softly, "Are you very sleepy?"

Qin Yi hummed in agreement and tightened his arms around her.

Nan Qianyue wanted to remind him to relax a bit, but when she felt a damp heat on her shoulder, her heart ached slightly. She silently pressed the back of his hand, offering silent comfort.

...

When the army arrived at Longmen City, Zhuo Yuanzhi and Xiang Kui led the main force around the city and went directly to the military camp.

Bai Shu, Qingyi, Hongyi, and the others who remained in the city stared wide-eyed at Nan Qianyue.

"princess!?"

Nan Qianyue smiled and said, "Although my clothes are a bit strange, you shouldn't not recognize me, right?"

The woman in red immediately knelt down, "This humble general failed in protecting the Princess, please punish me, Your Highness!"

Nan Qianyue gestured to Qingyi to help her up, "Don't say such things anymore. How are your injuries? And what about Wei Da?"

The woman in red waved her hand casually, "This humble general and Commander Wei are both fine now, thank you for your concern, Your Highness."

"What's wrong, Your Highness?" Bai Shu looked worriedly behind Nan Qianyue.

Only then did everyone notice that Qin Yi had been leaning on Nan Qianyue's shoulder.

Nanqianyue turned her head and called to Qin Yi, "Qin Yi? Wake up, we've arrived at Longmen City."

There was no response from behind.

Nan Qianyue panicked, "Qin Yi?"

"Let me see!" Bai Shu stepped forward. "Please, Your Highness, hand me the Prince's hand."

"Oh, oh." Nan Qianyue grabbed Qin Yi's wrist and tried to hand it to Bai Shu, but she couldn't pry it open no matter what she did.

"So you weren't asleep." Nan Qianyue patted Qin Yi's hand. "Let go quickly, we should dismount."

There has still been no response.

Bai Shu sensed something was wrong and immediately reached out to press Qin Yi's pulse. After a moment of silence, Bai Shu's expression turned serious. "Oh no! The prince has fainted! Quickly, carry the prince down!"

Nanqianyue panicked, "Why is he unconscious? What happened to him?"

Bai Shu didn't have time to explain. "I'll explain to the Princess later. Qingyi, hurry!"

Qingyi grabbed Qin Yi's arm, trying to carry him on her back, but Qin Yi held Nan Qianyue tightly and couldn't be pried off.

The Southern Migration Month helped to break it apart, but it failed.

"I'll do it, I'll do it!" Bai Shu took out silver needles and inserted them into several acupoints on Qin Yi's arm, finally dissipating the strength in his arm.

Bai Shu ordered someone to bring a stretcher, and several people worked together to put Qin Yi on it. "Lift him steadily, don't let him bounce."

With such caution, Nan Qianyue's heart was pounding as she followed the stretcher back to the Marshal's Mansion.

Inside the room, Qin Yi's clothes were removed, revealing that his body was wrapped in gauze in several places.

Nan Qianyue's pupils dilated, her jaw trembling slightly, "...How could he be injured like this?"

The woman in green extended her hand. "Your Highness, let's speak outside."

Nanqianyue tried her best to calm herself down and followed Qingyi to the outside room.

Half an hour later.

With red eyes, she returned to the inner room, sat quietly at the foot of the bed, and watched Bai Shu administer acupuncture to Qin Yi.

As the sun disappeared behind the hillside, Bai Shu retracted his silver needles one by one.

Only then did Nanqianyue dare to ask, "How is he?"

Bai Shu looked slightly tired. "You shouldn't use your internal energy for the next month, and it's best not to have any major emotional fluctuations either."

He paused for a moment, then said with relief, "If the Princess Consort were not here, the Prince would not have been able to properly recover from his injuries. Now that the Princess Consort has returned, there is someone to take care of him."

Nanqianyue turned her head away and quickly wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes. When she turned back, she forced a smile and said, "Brother Bai, you've worked hard. Leave this to me."

Bai Shu nodded. "Alright, I'll go brew the medicine for the Prince."

When only Nan Qianyue and the unconscious Qin Yi were left in the room, she could no longer hold back her tears, which flowed freely.

Afraid of disturbing Qin Yi, she covered her mouth to prevent her crying from coming out.

Outside the door, Xie Yanzhou, looking travel-worn, froze in mid-air with his raised hand.

I dared not disturb the suppressed sobs inside the room, nor did I want to see her wipe away her tears and force a smile.

Now that he knew she had returned safely, he decided not to disturb her.

Xie Yanzhou turned away dejectedly, his handsome eyes dull and lifeless.

As I walked outside the courtyard, I bumped into an old general in a gray robe.

Xie Yanzhou composed himself and bowed, "Grandfather."

Lord Xie's smiling gaze shifted from Xie Yanzhou to the door behind him, and he said with emotion, "Having a connection doesn't guarantee a future. Child, relax. It's lucky to have met you."

Xie Yanzhou's eyes welled up slightly. "Thank you, Grandfather. I understand."

.

As dusk fell, Nanqianyue sat quietly by the bedside, waiting.

QQ—

There was a gentle knock on the door. Nan Qianyue blinked and quickly composed herself. "Come in."

The door opened, and a woman in red walked in carrying clothes. "Your Highness, why don't you change your clothes? Something about you is a little strange."

Looking at the red-clad woman, Nanqianyue felt as if she had returned to two years ago.

"Red dress, thank you for taking such good care of me."

The red-clad, spirited woman smiled, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Your Highness is too kind. This is what I should do."

Nanqianyue didn't intend to specify two years ago. She raised an eyebrow and asked, "Aren't you curious how I got back?"

The woman in red solemnly replied, "His Highness has instructed that we must not inquire about the Princess's past."
