Chapter 3: Exchanging her for the people below the city walls

Nan Qianyue looked at the armored man in astonishment, wondering where he got the confidence to be so sure that Dongling would break the plan for her.

She thought for a moment and kindly reminded the armored man, "I really don't know them, don't make a fool of yourself."

Yang Hua sneered, ignoring the southward migration of Yue, and waited for the reaction of the people below the city.

Sure enough, in no time, a major general rode his horse forward from the army below the city and called out, "Once this woman is safely delivered to the city, these people will be returned to you!"

Yang Hua and the old city lord exchanged a glance, both seeing in each other's eyes an opportunity to turn the tide.

Yang Hua looked down at the city walls, raised his hand, and more than a dozen ropes fell from the walls. He roared, "Release the civilians first!"

The major general below the city frowned, and then heard a deep, powerful male voice from behind.

The major general swallowed back the words he was about to say. With a worried look on his face, he ordered his soldiers to escort the civilians to the city walls, tie them with ropes, and have the Fengdu soldiers pull them up.

The people have returned, and the major general reminded his superior, "The people have returned; release this woman immediately!"

Yang Hua grabbed Nan Qianyue's shoulder with his calloused hands and pushed her forward a little. He declared, "If you want to save this woman, withdraw your troops immediately and sign a treaty with our country, agreeing not to wage war for ten years!"

Nan Qianyue's shoulder ached from being gripped so tightly. She glared at the armored man and said, "Isn't this cheating? Shameless!"

Yang Hua sneered, "What, are you admitting you're a spy?"

The moonlight, rising from the depths of my heart, seemed to say, "I've already told you I'm not a spy!"

“You certainly don’t seem like a spy. You are the daughter of the Southern Chancellor of Dongling, which makes you even more valuable.” Yang Hua said, increasing the pressure on his hand.

Nan Qianyue bit her lower lip in pain. What daughter of the Southern Chancellor? With her looks, she shouldn't have any other face.

The young general below the city was so worried that he almost turned his hair white before his death. He knew that whenever it came to matters involving Miss Nan, the prince lost his judgment and easily believed Yang Hua.
