Chapter 31 There is an assassin



"Where is Yang Hua?" Qin Yi asked.

General Li thought for a moment and said, "He was summoned by that old man."

A barely perceptible sneer flickered across Qin Yi's lips. "Take them to the military camp and wait there."

"yes."

The black-armored soldiers quickly cleaned up the corpse, even wiping away the blood on the ground. Their swift movements showed that they were used to doing this kind of work.

"What is so important?" Qin Yi asked suddenly, looking down at Nan Qianyue.

Nan Qianyue's eyes flickered slightly; she absolutely could not speak of anything that truly existed this time.

"It's a pendant. I was holding it in my hand when I woke up. Maybe finding the pendant will give me clues as to why I'm here." She made up the story.

"Alright, alright, let's go in and look for it." Nan Qianyue waved her hand, lifted her skirt, and ran inside.

Qin Yi followed closely behind.

The dilapidated temple remained largely unchanged, and Nanqianyue deliberately went to the pillar where she had woken up.

She touched the pillars, the floor, and everything else, but after a long time she couldn't find anything unusual.

Unwilling to accept this, her mind raced, and she plopped down against a pillar, mimicking the scene when she first woke up. She slowly closed her eyes, imagining the shift in time and space, imagining that everything here was a dream.

Qin Yi's deep eyes were fixed on her strange behavior; he didn't believe she was looking for something.

He squatted down in front of Nan Qianyue, his probing gaze fixed on her face.

After a long while, Nanqianyue clasped her hands together and silently murmured "Bless, bless," then slowly opened her eyes—

Qin Yi's handsome face gradually came into view. Nan Qianyue suddenly met those dark and aggressive eyes, her heartbeat seemed to slow down, and her breath stopped for a moment.

That's because they were scared.

"What are you doing?" Qin Yi asked, his calm voice carrying a heavy sense of pressure.

A hint of disappointment flashed across Nan Qianyue's eyes, which Qin Yi happened to catch.

"I'm tired, I need to rest," she said weakly, her eyes dimming.

Why did she time travel, and not just once? Is it possible she can never go back...?
