Chapter 36 Who is the deceased?

Following the instructions of the Southern Prime Minister, Nan Qianyue did not go far, but just wandered around the post station.

Considering the green-clad girl's knees, they didn't let her follow. But that stubborn girl insisted on following the rules and knelt all the way. Even with a soft cushion, she shouldn't have been made to endure this.

The two women, dressed in green and red, followed behind Nan Qianyue on either side. Lin Fei was pushed aside, but he didn't mind and didn't show any dissatisfaction.

He's like a block of wood.

"There's even a lake."

The moon, migrating south, stopped by the emerald green lake. Looking up, a natural landscape came into view. The spring breeze carried the light fragrance of flowers, which made people feel happy.

"It smells bloody."

"There's a murderous aura about him."

There's someone on the other side.

The three people behind Nan Qianyue spoke at the same time and tacitly protected her in the middle.

She wasn't afraid at all; instead, she was curious: who was being chased, or was someone trying to kill her?

She probably doesn't have any enemies.

"Are they here to kill me?" she asked casually, as if she were talking about something trivial.

Seeing that Nan Qianyue stood tall and calm, without showing any fear, Lin Fei couldn't help but glance at her again.

He thought that perhaps it was because the young woman had been away from home since childhood and had suffered a lot that she had gradually developed a strong character and a calm temperament.

That's a good thing, actually.

“Miss Nan, there’s someone being chased over there. Let’s go back.” The woman in green kept her eyes on the bamboo forest across the way.

Seeing that Miss Nan was staring at the opposite side with great interest, the woman in red felt a sense of unease.

Would Miss Nan really want to meddle in other people's business?

"Tsk." Nan Qianyue frowned slightly, looking at the other side and complaining in a low voice, "I can't see clearly. It would be better if we were closer."

"Young lady, I see a strong murderous aura from the other side. For your safety, we should go back." Although Lin Fei didn't take the assassins seriously, it was better to be safe with the young lady around.

Nanqianyue sighed regretfully, "Alright."

Curiosity killed the cat. Many dangers in TV dramas start because of curiosity. She used to complain about this.

It wasn't until she started acting at fourteen, and until she was actually there now, that she realized how incredibly curious she was—the kind of curiosity she couldn't contain!

To quell her curiosity, Nanqianyue lifted her skirt and ran back.

"Let's go, let's go!" she urged as she ran.

Lin Fei followed along blankly, somewhat unable to keep up with the young woman's train of thought.

Those in green and red breathed a sigh of relief and followed closely, sword in hand.

However, an accident still occurred. A white shadow crashed down from behind, landing right in front of the southward-migrating moon.

Before Nanqianyue could even see what was falling, she was grabbed by the waist by the woman in red and sent flying far away.

Then I heard the sound of clashing swords and sharp, piercing roars.

"They saw my face, they can't be allowed to live!"

Nanqianyue: "..." This is so ugly that it's unspeakable. If anyone sees it, they'll kill it.

Nanqianyue was protected by the red-clad figure behind her, while the green-clad figure and Lin Fei fought against a dozen or so men in black.

Surprisingly, these arrogant assassins were surprisingly... incompetent.

In no time, the assassins were driven away by Qingyi and Lin Fei.

Yes, Qingyi and Lin Fei didn't go all out and let them escape.

Nanqianyue stepped out from behind the woman in red. She looked at the scattered bloodstains on the ground and pouted, "Ugh, what a spoilsport."

As she spoke, she turned her gaze to the white object that had fallen.

It turned out to be just one person.

A man dressed in white, his clothes and face covered in blood, his features obscured.

It seems like he's dead.

"Do you know who this deceased person is?" Nan Qianyue asked slowly.

The man in green raised an eyebrow. "This person's clothes suggest he's a member of the martial arts world, but... he's not dead yet."

He's not dead?

Nanqianyue chuckled, brushing her hair behind her ear. "Since he's not dead, I'll take a look."

"Miss Nan!" The woman in red stretched out her arm to block Nan Qianyue. "Let's go back and not meddle in other people's business."

"It's alright, the assassin has already escaped anyway, I'll just take a look." Nan Qianyue smiled and walked past the man in red toward the man lying on the ground.

The man's breath was weak, and he exuded an aura of decay, but a faint smile lingered on his lips, as if he were about to be freed and had seen the person sealed in the softest part of his heart.

He slightly lifted his heavy eyelids, and drops of blood hanging on his eyelashes fell into his eyes, staining the whites of his eyes red.

In his blurry vision, a radiant figure slowly walked towards him, crouched down beside him, and her face, etched into his heart, gradually imprinted itself in his eyes.

His smile deepened, and with difficulty and joy, he opened his mouth, letting out a weak whisper, "Qian...you...you came...to pick me up..."

He uttered a few words, seemingly exhausting all his strength, and slowly closed his eyes with a poignant smile.

Nanqianyue withdrew her ear and stared at the man with a frown.

What did he just say?

Just as I was listening intently, he muted his microphone again.

If she hadn't felt his pulse and felt it on his neck, she would have suspected he was already dead.

"Red Robe, may I borrow your medicine?"

The woman in red always has a cold face, speaks coldly, and does things the fastest.

She took out two bottles of medicine and handed them to Nan Qianyue, saying, "The white one stops the bleeding, and the yellow one heals the wound."

She paused, then added, "This person is too badly injured, and it's clear he wanted to die. Without careful care, he won't survive."

As the moon shone southward, a woman in red flew away with a smile, took the medicine bottle, and tried to pull off the man's clothes.

Qingyi was immediately startled and rushed over to take over Nanqianyue's job, saying, "Miss Nan, let me do it. You can rest first."
