Chapter 68 The Light of Redemption (shuhaige.net)

"Cough..."

Nan Kezhi spat out a few mouthfuls of water and finally slowly opened her eyes.

Upon seeing the news of the southward migration, she immediately burst into tears, crying, "Waaah, big sister..."

"Goodness, we didn't die." Nan Qianyue hugged Nan Kezhi and patted her.

Then, Nan Qianyue's expression turned serious again. "Sister, now is not the time to cry. This valley isn't very high, and the assassin might catch up. We have to keep running. Can you still walk?"

Nan Kezhi slowly stopped crying, “...Yes, I can!”

"That's good." Nan Qianyue helped her up.

"Big sister, how is your injury?" Nan Kezhi raised her hand to touch Nan Qianyue's shoulder.

Nan Qianyue pressed her hand down, "It's okay, I can bear it. How about you, does your shoulder hurt a lot?"

Nan Kezhi shook her head with tears in her eyes, "If my eldest sister doesn't care, then I don't care either."

Nanqianyue smiled, then looked around and said, "With our current physical condition, we probably can't run far. Let's find a place to hide."

Someone should come to rescue them.

Nan Kezhi naturally wouldn't question Nan Qianyue's arrangements; her trust in Nan Qianyue now surpassed that of everyone else.

"Go that way." Nan Qianyue pointed in a direction and then pulled Nan Kezhi along...

Half an hour later, a group of people arrived at the same place.

The guards pulled several pieces of clothing from the river and immediately presented them to the deputy general.

"Lieutenant General Hong, look."

The woman in red took the clothes, her expression visibly flustered.

She clutched her clothes and turned to look for the prince, but the person who had just been standing there had vanished.

"Where is the prince?" she asked the guard.

The guard pointed in a direction, "It seems the prince went that way."

Without hesitation, the woman in red followed.

...in the narrow cave.

Nanqianyue and Nan Kezhi hid inside, with natural bushes growing at the entrance of the cave, completely concealing what was inside.

Nan Kezhi was already teetering on the brink of fainting. For a young lady from a sheltered family like her, it was remarkable that she had managed to hold on until now.

Nan Qianyue held her in his arms, covered her mouth with his hand, and kept a wary eye on the outside of the cave.

There were footsteps outside; it was the sound of one person's footsteps.

Could it be that assassin has caught up with us?

Nan Qianyue was on edge. If the assassins found her, she wouldn't have the strength to fight back. Right now, she was just barely holding on.

If she were with her father, she would have collapsed long ago. In this unfamiliar world, she dared not trust anyone. No matter how painful her wounds were or how exhausted she was, she could only endure it.

Thinking of this, Nan Qianyue felt incredibly sad. She too had been born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Learning Sanda (Chinese kickboxing), wilderness survival, acting, and the like were all hobbies, not real hardships.

Right now, at this very moment, it's truly bitter.

Nan Qianyue's eyes were moist with resentment and grievance, but life was precious, so she stared intently outside, not daring to make a sound, unwilling to compromise with the evil forces.

Suddenly, a familiar voice rang out from outside.

"Your Highness! Look!"

It's the one in red! It's Qin Yi!

Nanqianyue's heart has never beat faster than it has now, as if a ray of light of salvation has finally shone into a dark and gloomy space.

She released her sister's mouth, looked down at her, and found that she had already fainted. "Sister?"

Nanqianyue touched her forehead and cheeks; they were so hot!

"Qin Yi! We're here!" She couldn't hold back any longer, and tears welled up in her eyes as she called out these words.

Qin Yi, who was frowning and fidgeting with his clothes outside, was startled. He hurriedly turned around and looked at the bushes he had been about to approach, and growled, "Southern Migration Moon!"

He rushed over, parted the bushes, and saw what was inside.

In the cramped space, Nan Qianyue and her sister were dressed in thin, soaked clothes with bloodstains on them. Their hair was disheveled and even dripping wet. She held her unconscious sister and looked at him with red, wet eyes.

Qin Yi felt a sharp pain in his chest, and an endless rage burned within him.

"...Stop looking, save my sister!" Nan Qianyue's voice trembled slightly.

Qin Yi's eyes flickered, and he hurriedly took off his outer robe, preparing to crawl inside and drape it over her, but because he was too tall, he couldn't squeeze in.

"Red clothes!" he shouted behind him.

The woman in red immediately stepped forward, "Your Highness, please move aside."

Qin Yi obediently stepped aside.

"Miss Nan, please help me, I'll take you out." The woman in red slipped into the cave and reached out her hand to Nan Qianyue.

“You carry my sister out, I can get out by myself.” Nan Qianyue lifted the person in her arms.

The woman in red nodded, took Nan Kezhi, and gently carried her out of the small cave.

Nanqianyue then rubbed her shoulder, gritted her teeth, and pushed herself up to crawl out of the cave.

Qin Yi, who had been "waiting for a long time," immediately wrapped Nan Qianyue in his outer robe and hugged her at the same time.

He held her tightly to his chest, as if only in this way could he fill the void in his heart.

"...Let go, are you trying to strangle me?" Nan Qianyue said weakly, with a hint of resentment in her voice.

Qin Yi noticed the weakness in her voice and hurriedly let go of her.

"Did I hurt you?" Qin Yi was very anxious.

Nan Qianyue glanced at him but didn't reply. Instead, she looked at the woman in red and her sister who was leaning against her.

She said, "Red Robe, I'll have to trouble you to take good care of my sister. She has a fever, an injury on her left shoulder, and probably some scratches on her body. Also, don't let any men see her like this, and definitely don't let any men touch her. She doesn't like that."

The woman in red glanced down at Nan Kezhi, raised her eyebrows and nodded, saying, "I understand, Miss Nan, don't worry."
