Chapter 71 Marry Me

Inside the carriage, Nan Qianyue glared at Qin Yi and said unhappily, "Your Highness, the Prime Minister's Mansion will repay your life-saving grace in full. We will not trouble Your Highness with this journey back to the capital."

After saying that, she got up to leave.

Qin Yi pressed down on her thigh, his expressionless gaze fixed on the carriage. "Young Master Nan, go back. I will escort your elder sister back to the capital."

Nan Yichu outside shuddered. Hearing Prince Anzheng speak up close was terrifying. Fortunately, the beaded curtain prevented Prince Anzheng from seeing his embarrassment.

"Then...then I'll have to trouble Your Highness." Nan Yichu turned and ran away.

He thought to himself, how did his elder sister withstand the pressure from Prince Anzheng? She must have been incredibly nervous sitting in the same car with him.

Not necessarily. Prince Anzheng seems to really like the eldest sister. If someone likes another person, they probably won't be mean to her. Yes, that's right!

The two teams set off one after the other, moving very slowly, as they needed to take care of the injured.

Nan Qianyue lowered her eyes to look at the hand that was still on her thigh, and frowned again. She glanced at Qin Yi's cold face, and then quietly moved the hand away.

"The Southern Chancellor has handed over the assassination attempt to the Court of Justice," Qin Yi said suddenly, staring at Nan Qianyue.

When she moved south, Yue only knew about some important figures in the capital; when it came to more specific details, she knew nothing else.

"And then?" Nan Qianyue knew that Qin Yi hadn't finished speaking.

A dark look flashed across Qin Yi's eyes, and when he looked at Nan Qianyue again, he was filled with heartache. He held Nan Qianyue's hand and said, "Commander Lu is fair, but he can't touch the Empress. At most, the old emperor will give the Empress a minor punishment, just to make a show of it."

"If you want to harm the Empress's foundation, you must do it in secret."

Nan Qianyue's expression was solemn. She was just a lowly court lady with no real power here, so how could she possibly contend with the Empress?

Qin Yi kept his eyes on her, noticing every subtle change in her expression.

His Adam's apple bobbed twice, and he suddenly said seriously, "Yue'er, marry me. Only when I have you by my side can I feel at ease."
