Name Hall.
There weren't many seats in the school. Today, all the students who were on leave and didn't need to come every day came, so there weren't enough seats for a while. The extra students stood on both sides of the road. When the sides were full, they stood with their servants outside the doors or windows.
Every seat in the hall was for two people. Nan Qianyue casually found a seat at the back and sat down. Xie Yanzhou, who had been following closely behind her, naturally sat down next to her.
The Second Prince, who was about to approach, immediately frowned. He had planned to sit next to the one who was moving south for the month, but Xie Yanzhou had snatched it away. How infuriating!
The Second Prince suppressed his displeasure and looked at the table next to Nan Qianyue's. Someone had already sat down, but the Second Prince still walked over.
The student sitting at the next table to Nanqianyue was organizing his thoughts, trying to figure out how to ask Nanqianyue for the secrets of poetry. He was excited and cherished this opportunity to ask for advice.
However, a chill suddenly came from behind him, and he couldn't help but shiver and look back.
"Second Prince..." The student felt a chill; he had a feeling that the Second Prince was there to steal his seat.
The second prince stared silently at the students, without uttering a word.
The student swallowed hard and ultimately gave up his seat without hesitation.
"Thank you." The Second Prince then revealed a fake smile.
Nanqianyue glanced at it, pretending not to see it.
"Qianqian, you're going to have a hard time getting out of here today." Xie Yanzhou glanced around; the school was completely surrounded, with so many people waiting for Qianqian's guidance—it was terrifying.
Nanqianyue sighed softly, "Yes."
The number of people was more than double that of yesterday; she should have known better than to make that promise so casually.
"What have you been busy with lately?" Nan Qianyue propped her head up, looking as lazy and nonchalant as a naughty student.
Xie Yanzhou looked even lazier than her, his youthful roguishness on full display.
He casually slumped in the chair, leaning back with his hands crossed behind his head, a faint smile playing on his lips.
"I don't know who gave me this official position, making me busy every day." Actually, he knew who it was.
Nanqianyue blinked, "What official position?"
“Miss Nan, my cousin is currently serving as the Military Commander of the Imperial Guard.” The Second Prince interrupted.
He felt uneasy watching Nan Qianyue and Xie Yanzhou get along so casually and harmoniously.
She was going to marry him after moving south a month later, so how could she be so intimate with other men?
Her languid posture was so alluring; how could she possibly reveal it to a man outside the marriage?
Nan Qianyue cast a detached glance at him and gave a perfunctory smile, "Thank you for your explanation, Second Prince."
After saying that, she immediately looked away and continued chatting with Xie Yanzhou, propping her head up with her hand. "Are those two your pageboys over there?"
Xie Yanzhou didn't even bother to glance at them, and the smile on his lips turned cold. "Huang's two sons."
Huang... that vicious concubine who was made the official wife.
"Then why did you bring them here?" Nan Qianyue's tone was full of hostility.
Xie Yanzhou lowered his hand from behind his head and changed to the same position as Nan Qianyue, except that one of them supported himself with his left hand and the other with his right hand, and the two looked at each other.
This infuriated the Second Prince. Nan Qianyue refused to pay him any attention, yet she was so intimate with other men.
"Don't talk about them, it's bad luck." Xie Yanzhou's eyes were filled with gloom.
Nanqianyue understood his disgust for those people, so he didn't ask any more questions.
After learning who those two people were, she looked at them again and found them both disgusting and sleazy.
"The teacher is here!"
The students immediately stood up, their eyes filled with admiration as they watched Xu Taigong, dressed in a gray robe, slowly walk onto the podium.
"Greetings, teacher!"
Xu Taigong stood on the platform, the wrinkles on his face etched with the wisdom of time, his eyes containing endless wisdom and keen insight into the world, surrounded by a calm and unhurried demeanor, and every word he spoke carried profound meaning.
"Please take your seats, students. Be quiet. Today, I will teach you the way of calligraphy."
"Calligraphy is a gem of Chinese culture, shining like stars in the Milky Way, illuminating the past and present..."
When she moved south, she never expected that Xu Taigong would start with a calligraphy lesson. She was flattered but also apprehensive.
A calligraphy lesson probably won't save her terrible handwriting, not to mention that she can't understand most of what Xu Taigong is saying; the more she listens, the more it sounds like Tang Sanzang chanting scriptures.
As Nanqianyue listened, she became drowsy, her head bobbing up and down.
Xie Yanzhou, who was standing next to her, suppressed a laugh and tugged at Nan Qianyue's clothes with his hand hidden under the table, and whispered, "Qianqian, your teacher is watching you."
The moon, which had migrated south, suddenly opened its eyes wide. Its body awoke, but its soul remained asleep.
She stared blankly at the podium, but Xu Taigong didn't look at her.
Xie Yanzhou watched as she closed her eyes again. He could barely hold back his laughter, so he covered his forehead and pressed his lips tightly together, forcing himself not to laugh out loud. His trembling shoulders were proof enough of how hard he was trying to hold it in.
"Southward Migration Month".
Unexpectedly, a deep voice came from the podium.
Xie Yanzhou immediately stopped smiling and tugged at Nan Qianyue, "Qianqian, the teacher is calling you."
"Hmm?" Nan Qianyue raised her head, opened her sleepy eyes, and vaguely saw the person on the podium looking at her.
Nanqianyue stood up almost instinctively.
The students around her were all looking at her, filled with many questions.
Miss Nan actually fell asleep during Master Xu's class? Isn't that a bit too willful, too unruly, and too impolite?
Xu Taigong's lecture on calligraphy today was initiated because of her; how could she be so negligent?
Or is it that all talented people are this carefree?
The second prince was somewhat displeased with Nan Qianyue's behavior. She was, after all, his future imperial consort; how could she embarrass herself on such an important occasion?
