Chapter 74 Who Did You Meet?

"You...you're bullying us too much." One of the palace maids was quite young, only about fifteen years old. She was so angry that she felt indignant for Xiao Diao, and tears welled up in her eyes.

Another palace maid tugged at her sleeve, signaling her to shut her mouth. How could they possibly discuss the princess's actions? If the Sixth Princess were displeased, crushing them would be easier than crushing an ant.

Realizing her lapse in decorum, the palace maid bit her lip tightly.

A gust of wind swept by, and An Ruoyan raised her hand and slapped the palace maid.

"What are you to dare criticize me?" An Ruoyan retorted sharply, pointing at the little sable splashing in the lake. "A beast is a beast, and those who serve beasts are even worse than beasts."

In short, he cursed both the little sable and the palace maid.

Xi Xizhi gritted her teeth. Did the Sixth Princess really think she was an easy target? She could be bullied so easily. Looking at An Ruoyan's fierce face, she figured An Ruoyan would cause her trouble once she got ashore. It was better to stay in the water and avoid another direct confrontation.

Her cheeks burned with pain, and tears streamed down the palace maid's face, leaving clear red marks from her five fingers.

Unable to bear seeing her people being bullied, Xi Xizhi shouted at the two palace maids, signaling them to leave immediately.

Having spent a considerable amount of time with Xiao Diao, the two palace maids were able to more or less guess what Xiao Diao meant. Neither of them wanted to clash with An Ruoyan, after all, the other was a princess, while they were just maids.

"Remember this, if either of you dares to utter a single word about what just happened to my brother, then... don't even think about leaving the palace alive." An Ruoyan revealed her ruthless side, fiercely warning the two palace maids.

Xi Xizhi grimaced. This woman was too hateful. Did she really think the palace was her territory?

Besides water, there was nothing else around that Xi Xizhi could use to retaliate. However, she didn't want to display her spiritual power in front of others, mainly because she was afraid of arousing suspicion. Her small body swam forward and suddenly she saw that the bottom of the lake was covered with small pebbles.

Suddenly an idea popped into her head. Xi Xizhi picked up a large pile of pebbles, surfaced, aimed at An Ruoyan, and threw them all at her.

Little Marten's finger-flicking skill was always spot-on; An Ruoyan was hit on the head, bleeding profusely, and fled in terror. Because the pebbles were all scooped from the water, they were wet. When the pebbles hit An Ruoyan, her elegant clothes immediately became filthy and disheveled.

The most satisfying thing was that a small pebble hit An Ruoyan right on the forehead.

Remembering the slap the palace maid received, Xi Xizhi chuckled. That evened things out. So what if you're a princess? If you anger it, it'll still beat you. Assuming An Honghan would protect An Ruoyan, Xi Xizhi could simply pack her bags and leave the palace.

Anyway, the huge amount of wealth hidden under the dragon bed was enough to ensure that he would have no worries about food and clothing for the rest of his life.

An Ruoyan was most worried about her beautiful face, fearing she would be disfigured, so she forcibly pulled another princess next to her as a shield. The princess glared at her angrily, but before she could dodge, several small stones hit her, causing her to scream in pain.

Taking advantage of the moment, Xi Xizhi quickly climbed ashore, raised her front paws and waved them at the palace maids, then quickly made her escape with the two maids.

Looking back worriedly, Xi Xizhi saw two princesses helping An Yunyi up, and then she turned and ran away.

His fur was soaking wet and matted together. Every time he moved, the dust on the ground would stick to Xi Xizhi's fur, forming clumps of small gray fur balls.

Dragging her weary body back to Panlong Palace, she attracted the attention of many palace maids and eunuchs along the way. Little Marten kept her head down and walked close to the ground, afraid of looking up and seeing all sorts of mocking faces.

Before it could sneak into the bathtub, it was suddenly stopped by a cold voice, "What bad thing have you done? You don't even dare to lift your head."

An Honghan calmly held his teacup, his eyes, gleaming with a hint of coldness, watching the little ferret slink back. It had left this morning looking so cheerful and bright, how come it had returned looking completely different after a short stroll?

An Honghan's gaze shifted to the palace maid, and just as he was about to ask what had happened, he immediately noticed the red mark on the maid's cheek.

Um?

Was he beaten up?

"Who did you run into?" An Honghan didn't mind the little ferret's dirty body at all. He picked it up, parted its fur, and began to check for injuries.

These actions were almost entirely instinctive for An Honghan. Only after he had thoroughly examined every inch of the ferret's fur and found no injuries did the coldness in his eyes slowly fade.

"I met the Crown Prince of Luyun Kingdom..." Faced with An Honghan's powerful aura, the palace maid stammered.

"He slapped me?" Such cold words are always hard to accept.

Xi Xizhi shook her head and chirped.

The palace maid knew that His Majesty had misunderstood, and hurriedly shook her head, "No, no... Your Highness, it's... it's..." Remembering the Sixth Princess's last warning, the palace maid held back her tears, hesitating whether she should speak out.

"Chirp chirp..." The little ferret raised its two paws, mimicking a woman's grooming posture, trying its best to use gestures to tell An Honghan... who was bullying it. It was a petty ferret, and although tattling was immoral, Xi Xizhi wouldn't care so much if its life was threatened.

Once there's a first time, there's bound to be a second. Who knows when An Ruoyan will come looking for trouble again?

Let An Honghan give the other party a slight warning; at least it will be a safeguard for it as well.

Although Xiao Diao's expression was unclear, this single gesture told An Honghan that the other person was a woman who loved to dress up. With just the slightest clue, An Honghan already had someone in mind.

"Is it the Sixth Princess?" An Honghan said with certainty.

It seems An Ruoyan has become increasingly unruly lately, daring to bully his pet without giving him any face at all. As the saying goes, even when beating a dog, one should consider its owner; An Ruoyan is truly becoming more and more childish.

"Go take a shower first." Looking at the little mink covered in dirt, An Honghan snapped out of his thoughts. It was time to deal with An Ruoyan, this troublesome girl.

However... he always liked to make the most of things. An Ruoyan had been a pawn raised by the royal family since birth, and it would be a waste not to use her.

Completely unaware of what An Honghan was thinking, Xi Xizhi tugged at his collar, signaling him to hurry up and take a shower; he felt sticky and uncomfortable all over.
