Chapter 138 I Didn't Say

After preparing the seasoning, Xi Xizhi picked up her chopsticks to pick up the noodles, using too much force, for fear of breaking them.

Xi Xizhi moved very carefully, focusing on taking the noodles out of the pot, mixing them with seasonings, and sprinkling them with chopped green onions and other things.

"Mission accomplished." Looking at the plate of longevity noodles, Xi Xizhi was overjoyed.

With her two small hands holding the plate, Xi Xizhi strode outside.

"I've finished my business, so I'm returning the stove to you."

The portly chef immediately ordered people to clean up and continued cooking, hoping not to miss the serving time.

Emerging from the imperial kitchen, Xi Xizhi looked like a little kitten, her face covered in patches of flour and her dress smeared with white powder. As she walked towards the imperial kitchen, she was surrounded by countless onlookers.

Unfortunately, the oblivious Xi Xizhi didn't notice anyone watching her. Her eyes were fixed on the longevity noodles, and fearing something might go wrong, she tried to walk slowly.

After bypassing the long corridor, Xi Xizhi sneaked in through the back door of Liuyun Palace.

She walked steadily, maintaining her balance, trying her best to keep the longevity noodles from wobbling.

The singing and dancing continued, the three fairies dancing tirelessly, seemingly forgetting the occasion and immersing themselves in the flowers.

They danced with abandon, each movement captivating and enchanting countless young men.

Xi Xizhi smacked her lips. These three fairies were not only beautiful, but their dance moves were also superb. How could anyone not be mesmerized?

Turning her gaze away from the center of the hall, Xi Xizhi carefully protected the longevity noodles and walked towards the nine-step platform. She tried to take detours, and at times hid behind the guards, hoping their figures would shield her from view.

However, she still underestimated An Honghan's insight.

"Now that you're back, why are you still hiding? What's that you're holding?" The banquet had been going on for quite some time, and An Honghan, who hadn't received any gifts, was naturally in a bad mood, his tone cold.

Xi Xizhi was startled. She hesitated for a moment before stepping out from behind the guard and lifting the plate. "It's longevity noodles."

Xi Xizhi's heart pounded, and she mustered her courage to walk toward the dragon throne.

An Honghan frowned, seemingly very dissatisfied, his eyes scanning the child back and forth.

This plate of longevity noodles was something Xi Xizhi had painstakingly made, and seeing the other person's gaze made her a little angry.

She pouted and glared at him, saying angrily, "If you don't like it, then I won't send it."

An Honghan's brows furrowed even deeper. "When did I say that?"

"The look on your face is clearly saying you don't like it," Xi Xizhi said, holding the longevity noodles tightly.

“I didn’t say that.” An Honghan beckoned to Xi Xizhi, signaling her to come over.

Xi Xizhi walked in with a skeptical look, thinking to herself, "If you like it, why are you frowning? Don't you know how scary you are when you put on a stern face?"

An Honghan reached out and took the longevity noodles. He glanced at them twice, placed them on the table, raised his hand, wiped Xi Xizhi's cheeks with his sleeve, and then patted the flour off her body.

"I frown not because of this bowl of noodles, but because of your appearance." An Honghan said in a deep voice while cleaning the stains off Xi Xizhi's robes, "You're all filthy. Aren't you afraid of embarrassing me? Next time, you don't need to go into the imperial kitchen. Just tell the cooks to prepare the dishes."

Xi Xizhi blinked. Was An Honghan's bad expression because she looked so disheveled?

“It has a different meaning. Since it’s a birthday gift for you, of course I have to put my heart into making it by hand.” Xi Xizhi said very seriously. Although An Honghan often bullied her, Xi Xizhi understood that this man was genuinely good to her.

Aside from her master, An Honghan is probably the person she should cherish the most.

An Honghan's gaze returned to the longevity noodles. "They look quite appetizing. I wonder how they taste?"

"Try it and you'll know." Xi Xizhi picked up the silver chopsticks and handed them to An Honghan.

An Honghan picked up a noodle and was about to take a bite when Xi Xizhi shouted, "Longevity noodles can't be broken."

An Honghan used his silver chopsticks to stir the noodles, only to discover that there was only one noodle in the bowl.

"Hmm." An Honghan replied casually, then picked up another noodle and put it in his mouth.

Although the noodles couldn't compare to the imperial chef's skills, the thought that they were made by a child made An Honghan feel that all the delicacies in the world were nothing special.

Longevity noodles are very long, which can be inconvenient to eat, especially the way one eats them, which looks a bit comical. But none of this happened to An Honghan. He elegantly picked up a noodle and slowly and methodically put it into his mouth.

Lynn and the other eunuchs watched this scene with disbelief. When had His Majesty ever listened to anyone else's decisions? Why did His Majesty actually eat noodles just because the little girl told him not to stop?

Xi Xizhi looked at An Honghan with satisfaction, and only when the last noodle entered An Honghan's mouth did she reveal a smile.

"You will surely live to be a hundred years old..."

The surrounding eunuchs and palace maids gasped in shock. Such a statement would be perfectly acceptable in common parlance. But the person she was referring to was none other than the mighty Emperor of Fengze Kingdom!

The ruler of a country should be described as "long live ten thousand years"! But Xi Xizhi only said "hundred years".

Many people thought the little girl would definitely suffer, but An Honghan affectionately reached out and rubbed her forehead.

“Definitely,” An Honghan said.

Xi Xizhi cultivates immortality, so his lifespan will certainly not be short. As long as he can ascend to heaven, he can live as long as the heavens. An Honghan is different. Although he enjoys all the glory of the world and has a supreme status, he is still a mortal. No matter how glorious he is now, one day he will return to the earth.

The thought of this possibility chilled An Honghan to the bone, his deep gaze flickering a few times.

After instructing the palace maids to clear away the plates, An Honghan put his arm around Xi Xizhi's shoulder and pulled her into his embrace. The domineering force left Xi Xizhi somewhat bewildered.

The three fairies below saw that Xi Xizhi had finished, so they slowly wrapped up their work and slowly left the main hall.

Xi Xizhi had given instructions that they should return home after their dance. They had spent quite some time in the palace and knew the way.

However, just to be on the safe side, Xi Xizhi still instructed Lin En to find a few eunuchs to escort them away.

Inside the Liuyun Palace, the ministers were all whispering amongst themselves, seemingly in high spirits. This banquet wasn't just attended by ministers; many of the concubines from the harem were also present. All those with the title of concubine were there.
