Luo Zhao
Inside the car, Shi Youchen, Ying Yungui and the red-haired girl each occupied one side of the spacious seat.
Glancing behind the car, he could see a long line of business cars following it, each filled with bodyguards.
"Luo Zhao, I've told you so many times, don't make such a fuss." Ying Yungui put his right foot on his left knee, put his arms behind his head, and cast a dissatisfied look at the red-haired girl on his left.
The girl named Luo Zhao bent her upper body, supported her face with her left palm, and twisted a strand of hair with her right fingers, staring at Shi Youchen intently.
Twenty minutes ago, Shi Youchen and Ying Yungui were "escorted" to the car by a group of strong men led by Luo Zhao under the gaze of most of the airport crowd. On the way, Ying Yungui only had time to whisper to Shi Youchen: "This is my cousin, my aunt sent her to pick us up." Then he turned around and continued to quarrel with Luo Zhao.
Shi Youchen was surrounded by a group of people. Although the bodyguards did not get close to him, he still unconsciously moved closer to Ying Yungui and pulled the brim of his hat lower.
Now, Shi Youchen could feel that eager gaze about to stare a hole through him. So he lowered his head even more and swiped his fingers across the screen even faster.
Luo Zhao noticed Shi Youchen at the airport at first sight. Even though he was wearing a hat and a mask, she could tell that he was definitely a great beauty. And when he took off his mask after getting in the car, it directly proved that her idea was correct.
She observed for a while and found that the beauty seemed cold, distant and quiet, which was somewhat similar to someone else.
Luo Zhao's piercing gaze finally made Ying Yungui unable to bear it any longer. He stretched out his long legs and kicked the other person's seat, reminding her: "I'm talking to you, are you listening?"
"I heard it! I heard it with both ears!" Luo Zhao kicked Ying Yungui's shoes away, took out a cigarette from his pocket, and was about to light it when he suddenly remembered that someone didn't like the smell of cigarettes. So he put down his lighter reluctantly, but still held the cigarette in his mouth, and said vaguely, "I'm so troublesome to you."
Ying Yungui then retracted his foot, struck a new pose, and said lazily, "Don't go back to the Luo family, just take us to the apartment where I used to live."
"?!" Luo Zhao's eyes widened, her mouth dropped in shock, and her cigarette fell to the ground. She glanced at Shi Youchen, then at Ying Yungui, and pointed a trembling index finger at her brother, mumbling incoherently, "You...you actually...you scumbag! Scum!"
Ying Yungui immediately guessed that she had made up another big drama in her mind. He gritted his teeth and resisted the urge to throw the cardboard box at her face, explaining, "Stop making a big scene for yourself, okay? We're partners!"
Luo Zhao tremblingly withdrew his index finger, touched his lips, and stuck out his tongue: "I'm just kidding~"
Ying Yungui couldn't help it. "Bang!" "Ouch!" Luo Zhao felt pain from being hit. He rubbed his nose and looked at his brother with resentment: "How would I know if you don't introduce me to him?"
Ying Yungui was unable to refute it. Shi Youchen didn't like interacting with others, so he was used to not introducing himself to others, so he naturally forgot about it this time.
"My name is Shi Youchen, and I'm Ying Yungui's mission partner. Please take care of me." Without waiting for Ying Yungui to speak, Shi Youchen actually raised his head and introduced himself to Luo Zhao.
Luo Zhao thought to himself: Wow, the sound is so nice! He asked, "Is it the stone in stone?"
"The time of time."
"The time of time."
Two voices sounded at the same time.
"Oh." Luo Zhao suddenly realized something, gave Ying Yungui a meaningful look, and silently lip-synced. Shi Youchen didn't see it because he was looking sideways, but Ying Yungui understood immediately: this girl was saying, "Keep going, brother."
...
In front of the apartment building, Ying Yungui stepped out of the car and said to Luo Zhao, who was sitting with his legs crossed and taking out a cigarette, "Say hello to Ms. Luo Han for me. Get out of here."
Luo Zhao stopped, raised his hands and gave him two middle fingers, then closed the door and the train roared away into the night.
Shi Youchen followed Ying Yungui into the apartment building. He thought Luo Zhao was quite interesting, like the sun, so he took the initiative to ask, "Who is Ms. Luo Han?"
"My aunt, my mother's younger sister. My grandfather has only two daughters, and Luo Zhao takes her mother's surname." Ying Yungui pressed the elevator button and replied.
Shi Youchen uttered an "Oh" and didn't ask any more questions. This was, after all, someone else's family affair. Ying Yungui, however, didn't care and spoke freely, "The Luo family is now settled in District 10. My mother inherited the entire family business. My aunt's family has been here even longer. It's said that they eloped here. Luo Zhao grew up here."
The elevator door opened. He held out his hand to let Shi Youchen in first, then he walked in himself and pressed his fingerprint on the verification area below the floor button. He explained, "The residential area in District 10 takes security very seriously. You need to swipe your card or scan your fingerprint to enter and exit."
After pressing "27", he glanced at Shi Youchen and said, "I don't have my card with me, so you have to come in and out with me."
Shi Youchen did not answer, but just quietly felt the elevator rising.
There are now thirteen regions in the world, and the people in each region are not of a single race. With the changes in history, nationalities have mixed, and it is no longer a new thing for people from all over the world to live in one place.
So when the elevator stopped and the doors opened, Shi Youchen wasn't surprised to see the green-eyed boy standing at the door. Instead, Ying Yungui looked up to confirm the floor, which was "27," and then looked at the boy again before walking out.
The layout is two households on one floor, and "27A" and "27B" are facing each other across a corridor.
Ying Yungui opened the door, and Shi Youchen turned around for some reason. Seeing the boy's back, he realized that not only his eyes were green, but even his hair was blue.
"I will live here when I come to District 10. Someone will clean it regularly and everything is prepared." Ying Yungui turned on the light and walked to the open kitchen to start boiling water.
Shi Youchen put his bag down. Feeling the room grow quieter, he flicked on the oversized TV screen. The automatically connected channel had a name he couldn't read, and the host spoke a language he couldn't understand. At that moment, he finally felt the reality of stepping on alien soil, and the tension he'd been holding for so long finally relaxed a bit.
Ying Yungui waited for the water to boil, took down the apron hanging next to him, tied it on himself skillfully, and asked, "What do you want for dinner?"
Shi Youchen subconsciously replied, "I'm not hungry, whatever." Then he stared blankly at the tall figure busy in the kitchen and asked in disbelief, "You can cook?"
Ying Yungui smiled proudly. He supported the refrigerator door with his right hand and pulled his apron back with his left hand, tightening it to form a perfect inverted triangle. He said in a bohemian manner, "I can do everything."
"..." Shi Youchen stopped talking, turned around, tilted his head back and slowly closed his eyes amid the soft voice of the host and the quiet sound of cooking.
Ying Yungui did not try to control the volume. His cooking technique was totally inconsistent with his appearance. His hands moved delicately and quietly, like a stream gurgling in the woods, flowing naturally.
Outside the window, sparse stars dotted the deep blue sky. Under the night sky, the city lay serene and windless, silently welcoming all visitors. In his half-dream, Shi Youchen faintly heard words like "mountaineering gear" and "less annoying dates."
When he woke up again, the TV was still on, but it had been switched to another channel and a host he couldn't understand.
Ying Yungui was just closing the door quietly when he met those hazy eyes and swallowed involuntarily.
"I...just saw you were still asleep, so I went to take a shower first." Ying Yungui said, "The soup should be ready, get up and eat."
A fresh aroma wafted over, awakening Shi Youchen's dormant stomach. He then noticed that Ying Yungui's hair was still dripping with water, and a towel was draped around his neck. "You've worked hard. I'm going to wash my face." He stood up from the sofa, rubbed his face, and walked into the bathroom.
The bathroom was filled with steam, and the recirculating air, along with the warm water, washed away the last bit of fatigue that Shi Youchen had left. With his face wet, he rubbed the hazy mirror with his palms. He felt like he was in a dream, unsure if walking into a place where a man had just spent a long time like this was a bit beyond the scope of ordinary colleagues.
For such a large apartment, there is obviously more than one bathroom.
She scooped up some water with both hands and splashed it on her face, wetting her hair and eyelashes. The water droplets sparkled like diamonds under the light.
When Shi Youchen walked out of the bathroom, Ying Yungui was putting the soup bowl on the dining table. The delicious aroma of mushroom soup hit his nose, mixed with the sweetness of cold tea soup and rice.
"It's a bit late, so I just made something easily digestible. Even if you're not hungry, you can eat something." When Ying Yungui saw him come out, she took off her apron and hung it back, washed her hands, walked to the dining table and sat down.
Shi Youchen sat down across from him and scooped a spoonful of tea rice into his mouth. The tea was fragrant and the rice was slightly sweet, a taste that told him the ingredients were excellent. He also poured a bowl of mushroom soup, which was rich and juicy. This was no casual meal.
"Thank you," he said.
Ying Yungui was amused and asked jokingly, "Thank you for what? Thank you for cooking for you? Or thank you for accompanying you to District 10?"
"Both."
He admitted that he came to District 10 not just to see the snow-capped mountains. Ying Yungui obviously saw this and didn't believe his words at all when he was in Yan Zhiyuan's office, but still insisted on following him.
Ying Yungui chewed and swallowed his food, then said, "I believe you want to see the snow-capped mountains, but I also believe you want to see more than just the snow-capped mountains. You probably chose District 10 for some other reason, and I wouldn't ask if you don't want to tell me."
He picked up the soup bowl and took a sip, then continued, "But even if you have other intentions, you have to wait until we return to the snowy mountains before doing it, right?"
Shi Youchen chuckled softly. He knew Ying Yungui was no fool at all, so he said frankly, "Then let's go see the snow-capped mountains first, then the human world. When everything is over, we'll go to the 10th District Branch to deliver the documents."
Ying Yungui raised an eyebrow: "It seems that someone didn't memorize the rules very well."
Always give priority to completing the tasks assigned by the association.
What a bold guy to say so directly, "Wait until everything is over before completing the task."
Shi Youchen looked at him and raised his eyebrows like him: "Then what are those who know the rules by heart going to do?"
"My memory is not very good. I have forgotten that kind of thing a long time ago." Ying Yungui looked back.
